  1. If the Bills don't win, if Bryce Brown sucks, or McCoy gets hurt, this will look like a stupid decision. Having the authority to make a decision means you get credit for winning, and the blame for losing
  2. Well to be fair they had to invest a fourth round draft pick to end up with those two.
  3. Whaley insinuated letting Fred go was in part salary cap related. It seems like in a "ground and pound" offense, that Fred is more valuable to keep on the shelf in case McCoy gets hurt, than having Cassel who makes more than Fred sit on the roster doing nothing.
  4. Ah - next year - always the favorite year for Bills fans. I thought "win now mode" meant this year.
  5. Done There was also that weird thing where we sent them a late draft pick in order to put Tavaris Jackson as inactive on our roster for a year.
  6. Lynch, Jackson and Wilson. Nice offensive set. If only the Bills had a chance at players like that.
  7. I am confused Rex Ryan says the team is not better without Fred Jackson. The rest of the organization says we are in "win now" mode. Those seem like conflicting views.
  8. Does anyone consider the possibility that Roman looked good, because Harbaugh was good. Have any of Rex's previous OCs ever become a hot commodity?
  9. Replace the only Bills coach with a winning record this century, with a guy who hasn't had a winning season since 2010. Also same guy, the Bills spanked twice in 2014. Get rid of the defensive coordinator of one of the top three rated defenses in the NFL Bring in a former 6th round draft pick with no NFL starts to be our new QB Get rid of Kiko and Fred Jackson. Roll the dice on Fred not ending up on a division rival. Bring in an often injured WR who accomplished nothing in 2014 except for being named the NFL's most hated player Bring in an offensive lineman who hasn't played in more than a year. A leading candidate to be the 2013 version of the most hated player in the NFL No first round draft pick so nothing there. Second round draft pick will be used on a short CB who will be continually torched by taller WRs in pre-season. Third round pick will be used on a guard, who appears to be a starting caliber card fourth round pick will be cut in the cut down to 75 If this was laid out as the plan last Christmas, not sure how many season ticket buyers there would be. I sincerely hope the fan base hasn't been russelled.
  10. Russell Wilson has the highest passer rating of any QB in NFL history over his first three seasons. Kaepernick might have the strongest arm in the NFL. In terms of mobile QBs It is much more reasonable to compare Taylor to a smaller and somewhat less accurate Michael Vick.
  11. If Fred ends up on the patriots, it will be pretty crap overall outcome.
  12. Would you rather have Kiko and Freddy or McCoy on the 2015 Bills?
  13. This is the type of decision you expect from a GM/Coach combo that has presided over exactly 1 winning season between them since 2010.
  14. Nix took Dareus, Signed M. Williams, resigned, K. Williams, traded for Jerry Hughes. Drafted Manuel, A. Williams. He actually drafted better than Whaley.
  15. One can only assume Rex is just trolling the fan boards with his QB management this off season
  16. Why does any fan of the team care what the name of the starting QB is?
  17. Overrated: In General: Coaching Staff, Based on Pay: Clay, This Board: Tyrod Taylor Underrated: In General: Graham, Based on Pay: Watkins, This Board: no one.
  18. Just to play devils advocate and not withstanding the injuries on offense, 11 points against the Browns concerned me.
  19. Setting aside press conferences, and past history how do you think the coaches are doing getting the team ready for the season?
  20. To me Wilson and Taylor play roles similar to the top point guards in the NBA. If you want to compare to current NBA players, Wilson is Chris Paul. At this point Taylor is C.J. Watson. They play same role, are similar in height, similar speed. Not really similar players though. One is brilliant and is the difference between winning and losing. The other is competent, but is not the difference in a team winning or losing.
  21. How about this for a franchise QB definition for Bills fans: A QB who you rather pay $100mm and lost Marcell Dareus from the lineup. I think Andy Dalton fits that definition. Matt Ryan and Matt Stafford definitely do. Ryan Tannehill might. IMO,If we traded Dareus straight up for Dalton, the Bills have greater playoff chances this year. At this point I would rather lose, Taylor, Manuel or Cassel than Dareus.
  22. Taylor hasn't been asked to read anything more than vanilla defenses (there are vanilla blitzes) or to execute the entire playbook. If McCoy, Harvin and Watkins all play at the peak levels this year, it seems highly possible the Bills offense can spread the offense pretty wide, which could make Taylor's running ability a real weapon. As a result he may be really effective for the Bills. Franchise QBs probably are fairly defined as guys you would pay 15+ million per year too, and sacrifice talent at other positions to accommodate that. It is hard to see Taylor turning into that type of player this year. But I picked 1 to 25% because it is not impossible.
  23. What other $100 mm players come on the market after this year. You add some nice players for that money. Maybe rex would rather have a classic nose tackle, for a 3-4, and and extra 70 million for cornerbacks and offensive tackles.
  24. They are excellent talents. I guess I could rephrase the question to more specific versions of it. For example, does Sammy Watkins give you a better red zone chance than Robert Woods. Does Lesean McCoy help your redzone offense more than CJ Spiller?
