  1. At this time last year, fans were sure we had the leagues greatest 1-2 RB with Spiller and Jackson. Same thing in 2012. RB has been depreciated in value by the rest of the league for a reason. The odds of an Adrian Petersen vs. LeSean McCoy super bowl are considerably less than an Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady Super Bowl
  2. If Tyrod plays poorly against the Colts and the Bills lose the game, things could turn into a dumpster fire in a hurry.
  3. After 15 years of no playoffs, I want the team to put its best team on the field THIS season. If Jackson is better than Brown THIS year, I want Jackson. I don't care if Brown is better next year and beyond.
  4. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000524030/article/carroll-jackson-could-play-a-lot-for-hawks-in-week-1 I have to admit after decades of futility I have little confidence in Bills management to not screw things up. I am pretty sure that Pete Carroll is a good circa 2015 coach. I hope the Bills didn't blunder this move.
  5. Capitalism at work. Fans should remember this the next time a player, like Kam Chancellor is holding out from a non-guaranteed contract. I don't think fans always realize that teams are not obligated to fulfill contracts when they "made a mistake" like over paying Matt Cassel. They do have to cut him to test the mark and confirm the mistake. But they have an out.
  6. So your saying Whaley has been fully engaged since 2010, with one winning season and is also responsible and the QB debacle, and the failed coaching hires of Gailey, and Marrone. Not really a compelling track record either.
  7. Defensive starters inherited by Whaley Dareus, Gilmore, M. Williams. A. Williams, K. Anderson, J.Hughes, N. Bradham, Manny Lawson Defensive starters added by Whaley: Robey, Graham, Darby, Whaley is just a guy who is a GM. He has exhibited no particular expertise at bringing in top notch talent. He is the most over rated part of the Bills. Even the Bills additions this year on offense, Incognito and Taylor are Rex Ryan adds, not Whaley adds. Whaley owns the wide receivers and McCoy. The rest of the team is not really his doing.
  8. The more important question is: If Taylor performs at Alex Smith/Andy Dalton level, do the Bills consider the QB position "solved" and ignore it in next years draft? We did that with Fitzpatrick. And it bit us in the butt.
  9. If Taylor produces at the same level as Alex Smith or Andy Dalton, then he probably will draw a $12 million paycheck. If the Bills missed the playoffs or were one and done in the playoffs, they would really need to consider whether or not Taylor will just continue the "QB purgatory" or can continue to improve to make the Bills championship caliber. If the Bills think Taylor can get them to the super bowl, and Taylor will play for $12mm, then the bills will learn to live without Cordy Glenn or Stephon Gilmore.
  10. With the benefit of hindsight we now know the 2014 Bills at this time were on the verge of a 9-7 season, their first winning season with two of those wins being complete spankings of the savior rex led jets. At this time last year fans thought the Bills had one of the leagues best 1-2 RB combos in spiller/jackson. At this time last year fans thought the Bills were facing a regression on defense after losing Pettine. Its really likely that much of what we think this year will be as accurate as those two concerns from last year. To me, I expect the defense to perform about as well as last year, there just isn't much room for improvement. The biggest change on offense is roman vs hackett. That should be a big improvement. On the other hand Roman had Jim Harbaugh to work with on offense. Based on history Ryan isn't going to be an asset for Roman. Dolphins look improved (and they have the highly vaunted coaching continuity advantage). The patriots are always a challenge. Its going to be interesting this year.
  11. With the Cassel announcement we are halfway there.
  12. Do you think Rex has instructed Roman to put the butt fumble into the playbook?
  13. Tebow or Kellen Moore are both far better options at their price than having A 4.5 MILLION third string QB.
  14. Colts are not going to worry about Taylor running. That might bite the Colts in the butt. But they are going to be more worried about McCoy running. Expect double team on Watkins and the rest of the defense focused on stopping McCoy. If the Colts stop McCoy, that will force the Bills to beat them with Taylor to Clay, Woods or Harvin. That part of the offense is decent, but not especially intimidating.
  15. Nix and Whaley have been outmaneuvering the Seahawks since 2010. We burned them again.
  16. If the Eagles cut Tebow, who would you rather have as your miracle working 3rd string QB, Tebow or Cassel?
  17. Roger needs to let it go. As a taxpayer I am a bit pissed off about anymore tax dollars being used to litigate a soft football.
  18. Unlikely to get a date on the appeals calendar that is earlier than the end of this season. This is not a federal emergency.
  19. The death knell for a players performance level is often presaged by inane comparison to former great players based on similarities in size and speed. I hope this isn't the case for Karlos.
  20. Well its not as bad as Nix's idiot fitzpatrick telephone call, or last years accidental release of Marrone's cancer. So we seem on the upswing.
  21. Clearly they do. And the Seahawks continue bumbling along with their clueless trades, free agent signings and reaching in the draft for QBs
  22. Its a GMs job to make hard personnel decisions. Nothing in the job description requires the GM to be dishonest with players. I wasn't there, so I don't know what was said. But Fred Jackson is a credible source.
