I know. In the past whenever the Bills signed a practice squad caliber player who was facing suspension for breaking someone's jaw, they didn't properly perform a series of administrative steps that are brilliance. I think people are missing the point. If they ever want to use him, he needs to spend 4 weeks on the active roster to serve the suspension. He can't do that on the practice squad. Literally every GM in the history of the league would make this move if they were not planning to cut the guy.

Don't count on it. People are not to going to pass on the Jameis Winstons and Marcus Mariotta's in the draft in favor of signing former 6th round draft picks who haven't started a game in four years. It might work out for the Bills. Its not remotely close to a template.

The point is that championship teams haven't typically been using this much cap space on the dline. Especially on the interior positions. DTs and RBs are not the key to NFL success.

Not a popular opinion, but this seems like too much money for a DT. Dareus, Suh and McCoy don't really have a lot of playoff victories among them.

Wow. The last gasp of the Ralph Wilson era resulted in Kyle Williams, Mario Williams, Marcel Dareus, Jerry Hughes, Aaron Williams, Leodis McKelvin. In other words every important element of the best unit by far on the team. Nix/Whaley/Brandon were not able to figure out how to hire a competent coach. Gailey and Marrone were terrible choices from the get go. Rex Ryan may turn out better. But its also possible the Bills have owned the Jets the last couple of years because Ryan isn't that great. Lets not be counting chickens before they hatch.
