  1. Taylor executed what he was asked to this season quite well. But the fact of the matter is that he was asked to do less than the top QBs are asked to do. And he wasn't able to elevate his play at critical moments in several meaningful games this season. He is clearly the Bills best QB on the roster. It is even possible that he is the 15th or 16th best QB in the league. This begs the question, is having a QB at that level mean you ignore the QB position in the draft? or do you draft an Andy Dalton in the second round (with Carson Palmer on the roster) or draft a Colik Kaepernick in the second round (when you have Alex Smith on the Roster) or do you draft Jimmy Garrapolo in the second round (when you have Tom Brady on the roster) or do you focus solely on "filling holes" in order to make sure you can finish 8-8.
  2. There are eight QBs in the playoffs this year that were passed over in the draft or free agency by Nix/Whaley. Several of these were on teams that didn't "need" a QB. The Bills should target a QB early in the draft. It would be shame to go through yet another draft without building up the QB stable in a meaningful way.
  3. Meaningless to the Bills other than getting a slightly worse draft position. I hate all the other playoff teams equally. I take no joy in the Steelers making the Playoffs over the jets.
  4. More than half the QBs in the NFL playoffs this year were passed on by Nix/Whaley in the draft, or not pursued in free agency when available. Eight of the twelve teams are head coached by coaches hired after the NIx/Whaley era began. It sort of ridiculous to consider Whaley as an above average GM in the face of all the evidence to the contrary. He has shown zero knack for building a team. Decisions like spending over a 100 mm to sign your 4-3 DT only switch him to a 3-4 DT are really bad decisions. There are probably 100+ scouts in the league that are just as good at identifying individual talent. And probably millions of fans too. If you can't put the pieces together you are not a good GM.
  5. Rex Ryan has the rare opportunity to ruin two team's season in one year.
  6. He had a very good second half. It wasn't "incredible". It always amazes me how Bills fans have seen so many crappy teams that players who are competent on the Bills are viewed as pro bowl material, and very good players are viewed as Hall of Famers.
  7. The defense will be starting from Scratch in 2016. Mario will be gone. The only three certain pieces of the puzzle are Darby, Dareus and Jerry "Bonehead Hughes". Its a mere shadow of what was there in 2014. Rex may very well be able to "build a bully" with new players, but the 2014 defense now belongs to history, so it won't be "recovered"
  8. If the right WR is there in the first round I would be willing to thrown in the 2017 first round draft pick to grab him.
  9. Teams like the Jets are doing it wrong. Making the playoffs so quickly after changing GM's and Coaches is a formula for disaster. Very few think Taylor is a problem. But he certainly isn't a proven answer. Teams without a proven answer at QB are wise to continue to give themselves as many options as possible to finally find the proven answer. The Bills have a decent amount of talent. If Taylor is a franchise QB, they should make the playoffs regardless of who they draft in the first round this year. If Taylor isn't a franchise QB, then their isn't a silver bullet player in the first round that is going to make the Bills a championship team.
  10. You left out "sabotaged the Bills with Tom Donahoe and Doug Whaley
  11. Big Ben, Russell Wilson belong in that conversation. Brees does too, but really suffers from extremely bad surrounding talent. 6 QBs, thats about 20% of the leauge.
  12. If the price is the same, you take Dalton. Its not even close.
  13. Those fans certainly have a higher bar for success than Bills fans. Bills fans relish in discussing the complex permutations of results that keep mathematically playoff hopes alive well into the 13th week of each season.
  14. Its quite obvious the Patriots offense is centered around Hankerson. I suggest you get down a big bet against the Patriots now that they Bills have screwed them out of Hankerson.
  15. Last years running game was 9-7. The best this years running game can finish is 8-8.
  16. We landed Hankerson just in time to play in the "Boobie Super Bowl" next week. Just like Anthony Dixon, I am sure Hankerson will be jacked to play. Personally I don't think I have ever been more jacked over a week 16 pickup than this Hankerson deal. Another Whaley Home Run. Note to Mr. Pegula: EXTEND WHALEY NOW, or you will never see sweet week 16 deals like this again.
  17. Russ Brandon has his 2016 slogan ready to go "Last year was our Mulligan, this year counts" - the push for 70000 season tickets starts NOW!
  18. Fans shouldn't be disappointed with this last season. It was basically a mirage and never really happened. It was our mulligan. We will be teeing it up for real in September 2016.
  19. Taylor's skill set is very good at moving the chains outside the Red Zone. You get the feeling he could run for 5 yards on practically every passing play outside the red zone. In the red zone though, the Bills offense becomes very limited. Taylor can't make the quick tight window throws that are an important part of a red zone offense, and as the field compresses his mobility becomes less of a factor.
  20. I knew we could get jacked. Awesome, just in the nick of time to win game 16.
  21. The win over the Cowboys. Until then I though there was little upside for the team next year. But after seeing the way they dismantled Kellen Moore and the Cowboys has me thinking Super Bowl next season.
  22. It is so unfair. The Pats get to play the Bills twice, and the Bills have to play the Patriots twice.
