  1. It is possible it is not a lack of effort. Endurance is part of talent. Just like everyone is not equally fast, not everyone has equal endurance. He just can't play at his high end the whole game. And he doesn't have the skill set to dial it down to a consistent level that he can play at for the whole game.
  2. Tom Brady injured his ACL in his 7 th season. What evidence is there that a rookie is more likely to be injured than a veteran. I can save you the time looking it up. The liklihood is no different. Since the 49ers had no chance to win the game (this is now a known fact, they lost) we know the risk was unnecessary.
  3. Time will tell. But it appears that he over values players that he knows. Fans do the same. Fans aren't gm.
  4. The Vikings defense is good. I am surprised that the 49ers risked Garapolo getting hurt against them. A good coach would have sat him to protect him. As it turns out the lost anyway, so playing him was an unnecessary risk.
  5. I keep reading nonsense post after nonsense post of how the Bills need to revolve their QB decision around who they are playing. This is a loser's mentality. Good teams game plan for their opponents. But for the most part their game plan involves playing and executing what they want to do to win the game. Good teams attempt to impose their will on their opponents. Bad teams try to dance around and try to invent new and clever schemes every week because they can't impose their will or won't even try. Third and two for good teams is a running down where they expect to out execute the opponent 80% of the time. For 25 years the Bills have been trying to convert third and two with gimmicks and passing plays. We are always playing the other teams game. Not playing Allen is the same mentality "we can't beat the chargers so why even try, our new toy might get broken". F'n go out and try to win the game. Peterman gives the team no chance. We all know that. Allen maybe gives the team a 5% chance. Versus zero that is infinitely greater.
  6. it may not be a shame, but it still pretty much demonstrates that they are not remotely special. If Bills are scared of that defense, then is it the most embarrassing team in the history of the game.
  7. a second year QB. 38 points given up by a defense is a **** show. The chargers defense is nothing special.
  8. Whaley was awful. He was only the most recent in a string of truly horrible GMs. Beane inherited a complete mess. Given how late he was hired last year, there was not more for him to do than assess the team. He made the judgment the team wasn't never going far with Taylor at QB ( a judgement any sane human could make) . He made similar evaluations of everyone on the team. His ultimate conclusion was for better or worse that there was nothing to build around. A couple of old guys in Kyle Williams and LeSean McCoy that are fan favorites who are too old be be part of a long term future. And after that: nothing. So he decided to come up with the strategy of clearing the deck for 2019 and starting from scratch. The only two players on the roster who matter at this point are Edmunds and Allen. Everyone else will be replaced with a draft pick or a free agent pickup from next years 90 million of cap space. The over all vision makes sense. The thing that is most distressing is that his cronyism with guys like Benjamin and Star L. call his judgement into question. If 2019 is a playoff year, then the strategy made sense. If it is some sort of babystep from an abysmal 2018 to a slightly better 2019, then It is 95% likely he is just the latest clown in the Bills GM clown show.
  9. Maybe we can compromise. The league office can provide a list of which teams have an above average dline and which ones have a below average dline. We can start Allen against the below average dline (maybe we can agree before the game with the other team that the pass rushers will count to 3 mississipis before rushing) and Peterman can start against the good ones.
  10. The took a 7-9 team from 2016 and turned it into a 9-7 team in 2017. Pretty much unheard of in the NFL.
  11. I can McDermott in his best Knute Rockne voice "Win one for the Peterman, because we sure as hell can't let #17 get hurt." We are saving Allen for the bubble wrap flag football games they do later in the season.
  12. i agree with most of this. The bills roster does not look like a rebuilding team. It looks like an expansion team roster. I don't blame Beane. Whaley left behind crap. Beane had to burn it down and start over.
  13. Some people think that since Tom Landry and Chuck Noll took 5 years to get things rolling 50 years ago, that that is way all coaching decisions should be made. These people think you need to wait many many years. Ignoring the modern realities of salary caps, rookie contracts and free agency.
  14. Only a (*^*&%^$^#thinks strength of schedule doesn't factor into a teams win loss records.
  15. Last years schedule set up perfectly. People underestimate that aspect of things. A huge part of the Patriots dominance is the 5 wins minimum the afce opponents give them each year. Bills did not have many quality wins last year. We struggled a lot against good teams.
  16. My Hot Take. Darnold is better than Peterman.
  17. In you hypothetical, does he also have the same ****ty coaching that Allen has?
  18. I bumped into common sense and a blind man. The blind man said that Peterman would work out fine. Common sense said he is the biggest liability on any NFL roster, and the team would be better served cutting him than putting him on the field again.
  19. Now I know why the coach had to watch the film. In yesterday's entire **** show, it didn't even cross my mind that the first thing we needed to address was dumping Adolphus Washington.
  20. I don't think Colin Kaepernick would do anything that would disrupt his status as the world's wealthiest perpetual victim. But no reasonable person could conclude Nate Peterman is a better QB than Kaepernick. Also no reasonable person could conclude that Peterman is better than Tim Tebow or Johnny Manziel.
  21. Peterman is possibly the worst play action QB in NFL history. Did you watch any of the pre-season.
  22. Aikman finished 1989 with a 0–11 record as a starter, completing 155 of 293 passes for 1,749 yards, 9 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. Following Aikman's rookie season, Dallas selected Florida Gators RB Emmitt Smith in the first round of the 1990 NFL Draft. His career ended up ok. So then why are you concerned about his development. If he sucks, he sucks and we move on. It won't be because he played with a bad team.
  23. To be fair to Mahomes, he will never have an opportunity to sit behind and learn from Nate Peterman.
