Is No. 1 Ranking Legit or a Mirage?
PlayoffsPlease replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The defense is ok. If it is the NFL's best defense, that says more about the NFL state of defenses than it does the Bills. I suspect the stats are distorted by the fact that every Bills game has been a blow out one way or the other. In the games where the Bills are getting blown out, teams opposing them don't have a lot of incentive to go for big plays, so that may contribute to the favorable YPP. My concern with the D has more to with replacing LoRax and Kyle, than their level of performance. Those guys have not been small cogs. -
Matt Barkley (asking for a friend)

I think Fitzpatrick may be the best recent analogy to Barkley. I am guessing that Barkley would have games like yesterday with games like his bears games with multiple picks mixed in. I think his ceiling is Andy Dalton level of play. -
We could have kept Fitzpatrick all these years...

There is a certain truth to this concept. But no one sees Tampa Bay as a championship threat with Fitz at the helm. -

I am confused. I have read posts on these boards for years. How can the bears with with a rookie HC. Doesn't he need to have half a decade of failure to establish the teams commitment to continuity. -

are you saying the Bears are winning without HC continuity? Do they have have a process in place? -
Did today's game take us one step closer to having a winning culture? As a die-hard Bills fan, I have been taught that culture is more important than strategy, and that what we are building is a winning culture. Now, I can clearly see we are not using any strategy on offense, defense or special teams, so there must be a hell of lot of culture building going on. Someone help me out but teaching the culture building steps that happened today that my lying eyes just can't see.

Commitment to process award : Coach McDermott Clapping through adversity award: Coach McDermott Creating adversity to overcome : Nate Peterman Best QB performance for QB not on any Roster in September : Derek Anderson There are many awards the Bills could win, if the award givers could just be more creative.

There is also another small group of people who feel as though they are far superior in their understanding of what the Bills are doing and that in fact every historical awful performance by the Bills proves that the Bills are heading in the right direction. You can spot these posters by their condescending comments criticizing every one who does not buy into the Bills process, to the degree they do.

How does a QB deficient team pass on Mahomes/Watson
PlayoffsPlease replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would think, in theory, superior talent evaluators would not be paying attention to the peanut gallery consensus on who is a good QB. Or what draft has lots of QBs. Its pretty clear Andy Reid is just better at this aspect of football than any part of the Bills braintrust that was involved when Mahomes was picked. Trading the pick and not taking Mahomes was poor judgement by the Bills. No amount of hand waving changes the fact. The Chiefs hit a home run, on the very same pitch the Bills could have taken deep. -
