  1. I dont know, but I think he's at a huge disadvantage having not grown up playing American football. In fact I hope I'm 100 percent wrong and the guy is a diamond, but, as I'm sure you realize, it is a super long shot. And again, in my opinion, so much that looks like God given ability is often a combination of natural ability and just a ton of hardwork and experience that looks like it is natural . Often great athletes that seem to be so naturally gifted may be operating at a high level as the result, partly, of some really deep brain learning that comes out as lightning quick reaction and finely tuned coordination, but in reality it is the result of a whole lot of reps. Like feeling which way a runner behind you is choosing to cut, where to place your hands when blocking, reading subtle tells from a would be tackler, etc. Then add doing it all in pads and a helmet with new rules, and building the requisite high level skillset becomes an uphill climb. Our intuition is a great example of this. People in all walks of life do genious level things without knowing how we did it, because subconsciously our minds are processing input from all of our senses all at once. In my opinion this type of processing for high level sports requires a lot of talent and a lot of experience. If anyone could make the jump, it could be a rugby player. He looks great playing rugby, but he makes the team as a special teamer, if he ever plays, and there's a lot of football sense that goes into that. Again, I dont think my take is controversial. I'm sure he is a great guy. I just think an NFL caliber player needs a lot of reps to have strong football skills.
  2. I totally agree that Rugby might be close enough. Here's hoping.
  3. When I say instincts, I mean a feel for the game that comes from playing the game. The way you react, and make sudden movements and the reliance on muscle memory all come from playing the game starting at a very young age. I'd love to be wrong.
  4. While I love this guy's tape, I think projects like Wade are novelties. I would love to find a hidden gem, but all of the talent in the world wont make up for the lack of instincts and muscle memory that an NFL caliber player typically has earned since playing football since he was 5. Exceptions prove the rule of course, but in general the gap is just so wide projects like Wade just are a waste of time and energy. Maybe he makes sense from a PR standpoint, but it is likely all flash and no fire.
  5. I think if we had kept incognito and Wood it would have meant another win or two. Talent was 90 percent of the issue. Position coaches matter, but let's not overvalue them.
  6. The more flexibility at the line the better IF the QB makes the right calls. That may come in time, but JA has to walk before he runs.
  7. It may not be this year. But I feel we're turning the corner. We have adults running the team, finally. I just hope JA is the QB we need, because as good of a job as I feel Beane and Coach Claps-a-lot are doing, so much is on hitting that one pick.
  8. I see the same thing. I think on shorter throws he is over thinking and aiming because he can't let it RIP due to how overpowered he is. Hopefully the solution will be more reps, and he can make all of the throws from muscle memory. That's a big key for him this year.
  9. Knox looks so average. He is probably just another guy, so I dont get it. Otherwise, good job Beane.
  10. Feeling nervous. Fingers crossed.
  11. I like Jay Gruden. I think he has handled a lot of issues there really well. I mean, what they did to him with RG3, Cousins, etc. I mean, the guy is a good coach. I think anywhere else he'd be above .500.
  12. My new favorite player....
  13. Amen. Get him out of the MNF booth! I think the Cowboys got sick of his commentary, too, and decided to do the whole world a favor! Thank you Cowboys!
  14. Would he consider coming to Buffalo? Would we have to pay extra? I'm not sure if Buffalo's reputation has made enough progress, yet. At the right price, we should grab him.
  15. I loved playing RT half the time and his backup the other half. These we always such winnable games. I hope Miami keeps getting the position wrong.
  16. What was there that was so interesting? Got a screengrab or something?
  17. Very satisfying win. Not a great game from Allen, but he didn't look lost. He seemed to belong. Zero sacks. Very satisfied.
  18. After we bring Eli to town we should trade Peterman for a 1st rounder...then we can all wake up...
  19. If Kelvin Benjamin isn't traded or released this week then all of the talk about "the process" is a lie.
  20. If Kelvin Benjamin isn't traded or released this week then all of the talk about "the process" is a lie.
  21. And Belichick is obviously a failure, too. I mean all those superbowl wins and this year all he has to show for it is a 2-2 record. Come on. These coaches are a joke. ?
