  1. Preseason football is terrible, and this first game, the 5th for these teams, is the worst preseason game of the year which makes it the worst of the worst, and, yet, like a moth to the fire, I wouldn't miss it. Football is almost finally back. You know you're a football addict when you set your DVR to record the HOF game! I think I need counseling.
  2. In my desperate effort to survive the offseason, I came across some highlights I hadn't seen in a while. Good game with some foreshadowing of what might happen later that year. One thing that surprised me was hearing the Giants fans cheer when Kelly went down injured at 8:18. It sounds like the entire stadium was cheering. Even 30 years later Giant Fan you lose points with me. It makes my skin crawl. Anyways, this was still a good game to watch agaim from a golden age of Bill's football
  3. This has felt like the longest offseason in history.
  4. This is my first year living away from home. I have the Sunday Ticket from DirecTV, but I can't figure out if preseason games are included. Is there anyone else out there in my predicament that can give me some guidance? It would be much appreciated.
  5. Awesome. Now I know the Chargers won't be winning the Superbowl. One team down, 30 more to go.
  6. Seriously, that is no good. Poor guy. Poor dog. Someone post if they find him.
  7. I think this stuff is cool. Thanks for sharing it.
  8. Blah, blah, blah. This guy is one of many copying and pasting the same article again and again.
  9. From looking at him you would never think Elite Wr, but he was. I wouldn't want to make Mr. Smith mad, not ever, so if he's reading this right now. You're the best!
  10. It's nearly impossible to grade a coach after two years with all of the roster turnover. And frankly how do you grade coach and not grade a coach as a coach-GM team. It's about the Johns and the Joes, not the X's and O's, right?
  11. I think the fact that this regime took Singletary so high means he really must have impressed. His competition in college wasn't great, but he looks special like he has instincts that are exceptional. If he can catch, too, then Singletary could be special. He has a lot of upside. I would say 80% of running backs are the same, so finding a special one isn't easy, and worst case we're out a No. 74 pick. I know I sound like an old guy, but can he block. He isn't big. And a quick hitting third down back is great, but to be truly special he needs to be able to stay on the field for 3 downs.
  12. Thanks for the summary. Is there a link to the segment anywhere? Sorry I missed it.
  13. This reminds me of some of the things I've heard about Pete Carol. The thing is though, there are so many types of winning coaches. Tony Dungy, Bill Parcells, Pederson, I think they are all type A people, but they go about it differently. By itself his being interested in self-improvement probably just means McD is an interesting guy with at least slightly above average intelligence which makes him one of maybe a billion or two people. I'm not knocking it. I just want to see wins. I don't care if he reads Dr. Seuse every day.
  14. I'm trying so hard not to drink the cool aide, but I'm feeling really thirsty. Could Josh be for real? Could a turn around finally be for real?
  15. Good stuff. I like him so much better than his dad.
  16. Was there a chance the foot was sore ahead of time, and Beane had heightened concerns and that's why he has so many Tightends on the roster?
  17. Rediculouos pandering by media trying to get cheap clicks. This!
  18. I think the trend in the league is to put more of your run blockers on the right. While teams want to be flexible, I think better pass blockers, even at the guard position, stay on the left with right handed QBs.
  19. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/20/25-ways-improve-nfl-fmia-peter-king/ This was an interesting article with some good and dumb ideas about how to improve the league. I have to agree with the people who mentioned onside kickoffs. I think the league has to do something to improve the odds of a successful onside try. Right now, there is a lot less drama at the end of games. I actually liked what the AAFL did with onside tries which was something like this: If the team that just scored trails by 17 or more points or if the team that just scored trails by any amount with fewer than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, that team can choose to try to convert a fourth-and-12 play from its own 28. If the team gains 12 or more yards in that one play, it keeps possession. If it doesn’t, the other team takes possession.
  20. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/05/20/colts-sign-quarterback-chad-kelly/ I think he has so much talent. I hope he puts it all together.
  21. He's also a strong chess player. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/this-ex-nfl-player-is-on-a-mission-to-become-a-chessmaster_n_5a7a0cd1e4b0d0ef3c0a26d9
