Best RB in Buffalo Bills history?
Uffalo Ills replied to TheJuice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh, I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying, when OJ was still reasonably within his prime, but wasnt playing behind the best Oline in the NFL, his stats were pretty mediocre. His game in general was less electrifying. Thurman was never immortal and his Oline certainly was great, but he neverhad a team specifically designed for him to play well. He was never the only good skill player on his team Exactly. OJ needed the Electric Company. We never got to see thurman without the great Oline he had except at the very end of his career, so there is no control group, but we certainly saw OJ without the guys trying to turn on the juice. He was elite, but not GOAT quality. Great pure Runner, but Thurman has an edge as an all around back. OJ had speed and elusiveness through the roof. He could run through linebackers without even touching them. Thurman more specialized in balance and stability. 2 completely different styles, so the best way to compare them is surrounding talent. The talent around OJ was on the OLine. The talent around Thomas were in skill positions. This means, while they didnt put 8 men in the box to stop thurman like they did for OJ, thurman got less carries, less attention, and therefore less yardage per season. Honestly Thurman Thomas couldve broken 2000 in a 16 game season (I know, I know OJ only got 14 games) with an OLine built to be the best run blocking unit in the NFL and with no QB/WRs to steal touches. -
Are you in favor of changing PAT rule?

It would be interesting because it would be a completely different sport. You agree with me though, right? He is crazy -

I concur, I think that this lessens the risk of the 2pt conversion, but doesnt eliminate it. Ball-less coaches like Marrone would continue to be ball-less and other HCs might try and go for it more often. This weeds out those with spines and those without To be blunt: WTF? I hope this is sarcasm... This would me more interesting I guess, but it also wouldnt be football. No pinning the opponent at the 1. No gam winning field goal drives where the kicker makes a chip shot with seconds left after a crazy catch. No crazy kick returns where the returner takes it to the house to win the game like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9prEhmGafqM. What kind of screwed up world would this be. -

I voted maybe. Making the PAT would make things more boring not less. It would take away the dilemma of going for 2 because it would basically force everyone to go for 2 and there would be no risk in making the 2pt try. Right now, there is conflict because it forces the bird in hand dilemma where there is a possibility of walking off the field with only six points not 7 or 8. Also I'm a purist, it would have to make a ton of sense for me to be on board. -

Ok, this is something I definitely agree with. Very Well Said. -
I say one more pass attempt per game. Mccoy gets one or so, clay gets 4, Watkins gets 9.

You give too few pass targets to Fred Jackson. If we have EJ throwing checkdowns all day, then Fred will get a lot of targets like he did last year.

You make a good point, he had superior elusiveness. Look up some thurman film, though and compare. I'm not saying OJ isnt one of the greatest of all time, just that thurman narrowly beats him out. -
Hot Damn. He reminds me of vintage Infredible Hulk on that long run by eluding 6 defenders. so much like Fjax's 80 yard TD against the gaints. He is slow af, but he could certainly stiff arm chris conte into oblivion. Good vision and hands too it seems.

Thurman had a great Oline, sure. Just not an Oline specifically built to maximize his talent. Saban literally said he was trying to build around OJ and do nothing else. and OJ > Murray by a million percent, but, I'm just making a comparison here, Murray is good, but, he is elite because of his oline. OJ was elite, but he is legendary because of his oline. -

I think thurman is #1 just because OJ was talented, but he clearly sucked later in his career. This was him falling off the cliff early due to overplay, but also due to not having an epic oline. He was basically demarco murray, good player, but legendary oline. Thurman didnt really have that. That might be an oversimplification, but, idk. Tinker Bell ought to be somewhere on this list. he was pretty good when healthy -
with 3rdand12, I can never tell...
-
But, but, but...Doug Moron was a oline genius... I mean, he must be. Jax thinks he is.
-
Sounds a bit complex for an OLine that cant even handle LB stunts

Who would you target in trades?
Uffalo Ills replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What 4th? It actually might. Rivers would be FA in 2016, so SD might just trade him to avoid having ugly contract talks. We'd definitely have to throw in next years second and matt cassel, but rumor has it, Rivers doesnt want to stay in SD if SD moves to LA -
But none about Corey Knox...

NFL coaches ranked 1-32 by CBS sports
Uffalo Ills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We also played houston, so thats only 6 games... and the NFC south is no cakewalk other than tampa. We played the raiders, the vikes and the browns... those are arguably awful teams, just like the panthers saints and falcs. so the fact they had 2 games that were easier than some games we had doesnt mean we'd finish 3 games better if we had had their schedule. on top of that, they play in, like i said, the hardest division in the NFL. thats six brutal games a year... We had maybe 4 tough games ( Green Bay, Denver, Detroit, and New England) . We played a division rival with a winning record once this season in reality. A win is a win, but NE was resting starters that last game. Same Difference. -
Interesting article considering we dont have a first. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000481180/article/five-draft-prospects-who-will-be-better-pros-than-college-players?campaign=Facebook_writers_davis I could see us targeting any one of these five...

They play in the hardest division in football. Every team except the browns had more than 10 wins. They did get to play the AFC south, but we get to play the jets twice, so same difference
