  1. Good post. The NFL is trying to sell everyone a line of bull. From reading this post, I see that some have bought into it. Some posters might be too young to remember the days of the Raiders and Rams in LA as well. I have nothing against LA, In fact I enjoy the city. I simply will never believe that the city was worthy of two football teams. I will also never believe that they were more worthy than the cities they were taken from.
  2. The USC campus isn't that far from the stadium. I may "know nothing", but what I do know is that people aren't randomly being attacked attending LA or USC games because the neighborhood is bad. There's sketchiness all over LA imo. Not a good place to live if you're ultra paranoid. The Rams do have a history in town. The problem is that no one cared about their first chapter of history either.
  3. I agree. This "bad neighborhood " stuff is not a legit excuse for the LA fans. If the neighborhood doesn't stop people from sending their kids to USC, we can't use it as an excuse to skip out on NFL games.
  4. I'm thinking that only the idiots get caught. It's quite naive to not believe PED use is an epidemic in pro football. Guys just keep getting bigger and faster every year. It's gotten ridiculous. We also seem to see more non contact injuries than I ever remember as well.
  5. LA just isn't a pro football town. Wait until we see the fiasco of the Raiders in Vegas. I guarantee that it will be a similar situation, except when the Raiders are playing teams from the Midwest.
  6. I'm hoping she does time. One less crappy Nashville so called musician is a service to society.
  7. I don't think there is anyway I could ever watch an NFL game if the Bills had left. I'd still love football, but I'd choose to follow other forms of game. The Oakland, San Diego and St.Louis situations already disgust me enough. I'd also hold a resentment towards the Packers since the league grandfathered them into community ownership. This is an option that we wouldn't have been given.
  8. What was bad about it? There was no helmet to helmet contact. In fact, Vaccarro targeted Diggs chest. That would be considered a textbook effort to jar the ball loose. Digs was airborne at the time of the hit, this caused him to fall to the ground, hitting his head. There is nothing that can be done to prevent head injuries of that kind.
  9. There were a few, I admitted that. Nothing was dirty about the Vaccarro hit. That is how real football is played. If the Vaccarro hit is dirty, I'm not sure how a guy is supposed to play the safety position.
  10. Because on the internet every one can talk trash while they remain hidden behind a keyboard. In real life they wait to talk trash about you when you walk away.
  11. I agree, but I hope you don't believe that the Vaccaro hit on Diggs was dirty. It was only "dirty" in the context of people who want to turn tackle football into touch football.
  12. Wasn't even a blow to the head. How do you play safety these days?
  13. He has talent, but he was god awful last season. He's the type of QB who has all the tools, but hasn't been able to put it all together yet. He looks good this evening. I hate to diminish what he's doing, but I think that the Saints D might be an epic disaster this season as usual.
  14. Wasn't it 145 million people impacted? Isn't that likely most every American with credit history? This makes it almost comical that they had a page telling you if you were affected.
  15. And how many times have we lost to those type of teams? That's why I'll take any win. I'm just not ready to make Super Bowl plans either.
  16. You are correct. I believe the rule states that the runner must be touched/tackled by an opposing player to be ruled down by contact.
  17. I think people are underestimating how stupidly conservative NFL coaches can be. Haven't we been complaining for years about our coaches punting at inappropriate times?
  18. As a Bills opponent I'd game plan to stop Shady and TT from running. If TT beat me through the air, I'd tip my hat and take the loss. I just can't see that happening.
  19. Agreed. It was a win that didn't tell me anything. We are 1-0. A win is a win, and you have to be happy with that. The Jets are really a terrible team. A win over them doesn't help us figure out who we are.
  20. No, Bowles did what almost every other NFL coach would do in that situation. NFL coaches don't believe in percentages and statistics.
  21. What percentage of them are on this board? That's all I really care about.
  22. I'm not worried about the defense. The offense is what troubles me. I think we have a soild defense. I'm sure there will be many times we give up points due to the offense struggling.
  23. Yes, I really want to enjoy the NFL like I used to. I'm just having a difficult time doing so. There seems to be an abundance of mediocrity around the league. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you are seeing great defensive play, or terrible offensive play and vice versa. NFL officiating is a bonafide disaster that needs to be cleaned up. It is inconsistent, and makes the game tough to watch. If the Bills defense played like the Pack and Seahawks Sunday, every pass would have been flagged for PI and/or holding. I've grown to appreciate college football much more over the last several years. College ball is a game where one can still witness greatness. The NFL's greatest desire has been to achieve parody around the league. I think that they have done a great job doing so. Unfortunately, we are seeing the unintended consequence of mediocrity.
