This, and the NFL rule book/officiating are the biggest issues imo. My lack of interest in the mediocre NFL has made me occasionally turn to college ball as an alternative. Every time I do so, I'm equally disappointed with the college game. Aside from the spread offense/air raid college teams, QB play is terrible. The majority of Big Ten and SEC games look like throwbacks to the era prior to the forward pass. College games are often won by the team whose QB throws fewer picks, not by a combination of ball security and playmaking. More often than not, every college game leaves me with the feeling that neither QB is capable of making plays.

Around The League: NFL Week 6 (I think?)

Pats always have such an easy path to the playoffs. Lets be real, the AFC East sucks. Same here, I hate bye weeks. -

I'll admit that I follow college ball, but had no idea what we were getting with Jones. After all, who watches ECU? -

It's not just about the numbers though, it's about how bad he's looked putting up those numbers. Samuel and Shuster are on teams where they aren't expected to be the number two WR. Jones was expected to be that guy. It's not unfair to believe that Samuel and Shuster might put up better numbers if they were a number two. Mediocre WR's can put up decent numbers when they are one of the go to targets. Jones has become a go to reciever by default. He has done absolutely nothing with that opportunity. Our very own Josh Reed is a good example. He was not a good number two receiver, but he still put up numbers (albeit subpar ones) because he was the second best option on the roster. Zay hasn't acumulated any numbers, and he's look awful doing so. I'm not sure if I've ever seen an NFL reciever look more lost than Zay. I wasn't impressed that he fell over his feet as he does dozens of times each game. I'm rooting for the kid, but everything from his hands to his footwork have looked terrible this season. -

It's just frightening, because the "yips" are the only thing we've seen from Jones. I have yet to see one good quality about Jones the player. -
I'm simply not a fan of trading draft choices for a RB. McCoy is aging, but we should look for a replacement in the draft. I think that Jonathan Williams could be almost as productive as anyone who is going to be on the trade block. It's difficult for me to understand why you'd let Gillislee go, only to use draft choices on a RB. The idea of the Sammy and Darby trade was to compile draft choices, I'd rather not lose any for a RB, especially when they refuse to activate Williams. The only way I'm giving up a draft choice would be for a WR. It's not because I like the idea, it's only because it's a necessity. This team has exceeded expectations thus far. We are in the hunt, but we won't be for long without a legitimate WR. We need someone immediately. I'm aware that WR's take longer to adjust to a new scheme than other positions. However, wouldn't any legit WR immediately be an upgrade over the crap we have now?

I'd love to add something intelligent to this conversation, but I can't. Jones has simply sucked this season. It makes Josh Reed's rookie season look spectacular. Lets just hope this isn't who Jones really is. -
I'm sure that she could run out of bounds to avoid taking a hit just as well as Sammy.

I think there's simply too much film available on him. Early in his career, TT was an unknown. It's the stereotypical plight of the backup QB. They can play very well for a few games, but once team's game plan around them, they begin to falter. -
I've already blamed God for Zay Jones.

McD seems to have a big ego imo. He sometimes appears to believe that he's the smartest guy in the room. He actually reminds me a little of Josh McDaniels with the Broncos. I was onboard with the Sammy trade, but there are too many other moves that make little sense to me. Keeping Glenn on the bench while overusing Tolbert demonstrates a coach who wants to outsmart the league. Often times the obvious answer is the correct one. Glenn and a real backup RB should be those obvious answers. I happen to see far too much McDaniels like individuality in McD.
