  1. I don’t feel bad for too many guys on this team, especially the O Line. Too many guys have been terrible to feel bad for anyone.
  2. This is where I’m at. Now we get to hear the “I told you so, I know football” people all week.
  3. Put Tyrod on the Wall of Fame before the Pats game. Since Peterman has been awful, it means Tyrod is great.
  4. Run run pass doesn’t work in the NFL. Dennison needs to go regardless of QB.
  5. They should be. It’s not the type of move that you can turn back on. We need a QB in the draft.
  6. Tyrod isn’t the answer. Peterman might not be the answer. If Peterman is terrible, keep him in and tank. We aren’t going anywhere with our top two WR’s being injury prone guys.
  7. I agree. I won’t say it wasn’t a subtraction (albeit for a purpose), but it’s crazy to blame the last two weeks on the absence of one man. Only a franchise QB being absent would produce such a dramatic shift. I pose this as a serious question. How often was he actually on the field with the Bills in 2017? I’m not sure if I’ve seen the stats. It didn’t seem like he was on the field half of the game.
  8. I realize that it’s not his first game. I just wouldn’t give today much meaning. Dareus plays when he feels like doing so. It’s early in his JAX tenure, of course he feels ambitious early on. Lets wait until we have a larger body of work before assessing his play. This Bills team has far more problems than Dareus absence. The sudden losing streak has produced a convenient narrative that Dareus was crucial to our early success.
  9. Lets not judge players based on what they do against the Browns.
  10. Relax. At least you’re not in stuck in Rochester watching the Chiefs vs Giants. Now that is horrid!
  11. You may be in favor of “giving the Pats the middle finger”, but Mayfield would give them a literal middle finger. That’s the issue I have with him. I simply don’t believe that the Bills loser mentality has been the cause of the Pats dominance. Tom Brady has been the responsible party for the Pats dominance. We simply haven’t had the talent to beat the Pats. Rex Ryan was the king of swagger, and we achieved very little under his leadership. Swagger is meaningless without brains and the ability to back it up. Mayfield’s NFL success will be reliant upon his ability to play the game at the pro level. He will not succeed solely because of his swagger. You mention the swagger of Brady. This led me to thinking about it from a different perspective. Swagger is the classic chicken versus egg debate. Does swagger come before success? Or does swagger arrive as a result of success? I remember actually rooting for Brady in his first Super Bowl. It was apparent that he had strong leadership abilities, but arrogance and swagger was not yet apparent to the average fan. Brady has morphed into an outwardly arrogant/cocky NFL player following his early success. Keep in mind that Brady’s leadership and swagger is much different than Mayfield’s immature behavior.
  12. “Swagger” is ridiculously overrated these days. We don’t need a guy to give the Pats the middle finger. We need a team with the talent to beat the Pats. Carson Wentz is tearing up this season, without running around looking like a moron (aka Mayfield). If you like Mayfield as a prospect, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I just don’t see how his antics can be perceived as a positive. It’s one thing to be cocky, it’s another to be an obnoxious loudmouth. Running ones mouth doesn’t help win games. As far as culture change is concerned, the playoff drought Bills haven’t had too many “nice guys”, we’ve simply lacked talent.
  13. This ^ Manziel 2.0. The QB is the face of your franchise. No one wants unnecessary distractions due to the QB’s on field behavior. It’s unfair to compare Mayfield’s immaturity to guys like a young Jim Kelly. Kelly had his off the field demons, and may have been quite arrogant, but he refrained from making a spectacle of himself on the field. Mayfield won’t be much help when he gets suspended for being an idiot in the pros. His behavior seems like the type of distraction that could tear a team apart. It’s also difficult to see him as someone McD would want on the roster.
  14. This stuff isn’t irrelevant imo. Look at the Thurman Thomas-Jim Kelly situation this season. NFL players come from diverse backgrounds. Players are happy to play with whoever helps them win. If Peterman plays well, they won’t care how much they like TT as a person.
  15. He had the potential to be a great one, but his health is too much of a concern at this point imo. How many HOF QB’s have been injured this much early in their careers? The injuries appear to have the potential to be reoccurring. Unfortunately I don’t have a good feeling about his future in the NFL. The dude is traveling to Europe for alternative treatment options. I don’t like the sound of any of it.
  16. It’s difficult to tell what will turn the scales completely. We are learning more everyday. It will take a lot of evidence before football becomes social unacceptable. Some parents still allow their children to play football because their personal viewpoint of the issue. Don’t we all know plenty of former football players who have had long successful lives? Suicide and behavioral issues are extreme examples. They can never be legitimately proven as being a result of CTE.
  17. The story of the 2017 Rams is the growth of Jared Goff with the excellent coaching of McVay. A QB can do a lot for an NFL team. “It takes one”.
  18. I hope not. Now I’m worried that TT will pass for over 150 yards in a playoff gam.
  19. Just a ridiculous hot take. Modern media excels at sensationalism meant to garner clicks. Tyrod may or may not be an upgrade over Bortles, but Super Bowl contender with Tyrod is absurd. Does anyone really believe that TT would beat Brady or Roethlisberger in a playoff game?
  20. Where are the posters with “sources” who said the team “isn’t high on Peterman”, and “they love Tyrod”?
  21. This is all great, and very well written. There is just one major problem. This isn’t a dominant Denver defense anymore. They still have talent, but Wade Phillips is gone. I don’t think that they are a Tyrod level QB away. The Super Bowl champ Broncos were a historically great D. Everything worked that season. They did what the 2017 Bills did during the winning streak, but for the entire season.
  22. Denver is entirely possible. Elway has shown a real eye for recognizing QB talent ?
  23. Do any teams with retractable roofs actually ever open them? It seems like they rarely do, regardless of the weather. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this?
