  1. Actually we need a QB who can complete a pass. Forget about the other stuff.
  2. Good premise, but I guarantee that the NFL will shut down Mayfield’s on field antics. We aren’t going to see him behaving in the same manner on the field as pro. The league will immediately set boundaries with him, unless he plays for the Pats. The NFL has everyone who doesn’t play for the Pats on a short leash.
  3. This is why the NFL is on its way out. It’s hard to watch. I’m going to be mad about that Gronk hit for a while. If the league were serious about head injuries, he’d be out for a few weeks at least. Like our entire team after the Gronk hit?
  4. Lost any respect I had for this team on that Gronk hit. They should have went after him. Ejections don’t matter when the season is lost.
  5. I agree. Apparently McD reads this board, and he decided to do what the fans and media wanted.
  6. It is better than we hoped. That’s what’s frustrating. If we had a QB that could play the position, we have a playoff team.
  7. As long as PFF says you’re good, that’s all that matters. Bad picks where a hallmark of the Whaley regime. It wouldn’t be a way to assess.
  8. Same here, right after I said that Wisconsin had no chance, Meyer let them stick around.
  9. I agree, plus I wouldn’t say that Meyer will be “bitten” this game. My interpretation of that would be a loss. There is no way they lose this game.
  10. My issue is that Mayfield hasn’t shown the ability to learn from his mistakes. It’s a continual pattern of behavior. Dak Prescott made off field mistakes, but he learned. He didn’t continue to act like a classless buffoon. Future franchise QB’s are guys who have the spotlight on them at all times. They aren’t your run of the mill young professional, or college student. College athletes at the level of Mayfield are pros without the pay. They have millions of dollars at stake. How many college students can say that?
  11. I agree, they have the best offense by far. Watching the SEC title game reminded me of that fact. I really think that Oklahoma could take it to these conservative SEC teams.
  12. I suppose that the intent was to get more money, but it certainly wasn’t a ploy. He wanted more money, and he got it. That’s what the spirit of college ball is all about.
  13. Hate on the Pats all you want. We are Bills fans after all. The PED stuff just makes me laugh a bit. I’m not saying there isn’t a chance that Brady does them. It’s just false to believe that it’s not a league wide epidemic. If Brady gets away with it so easily, wouldn’t everyone be doing the same? Remember baseball in the late 90’s? McGuire was the headliner, but pretty much everyone did the same.
  14. The 80’s and early 90’s was a much different era as well. The 90’s Bills comparisons just don’t work work for me. Successful QB’s in the current NFL tend to not be drunkards, coke heads, abusers, and troublemakers. In addition, rumors are far easier to face than legit accusations. We live in an age of 24/7 meda coverage. Everything these guys do goes public. This eventually catches up with them, and creates distractions. The type of distractions that you’d prefer a franchise QB not to have. This is where I worry about Mayfield. I see the potential for a career to be derailed by distractions. Buffalonians talking behind Jimbo’s back wasn’t the same type of distraction.
  15. Lots of Mayfield people around here, so I know that my opinion will be unpopular. I’m simply afraid of a short, pudgy, Big 12 QB. Factor in the distractions he will be bring, and I say no thanks.
  16. I hope our climax involved Tom Brady, and now we have a harassment case again him. Get him suspended before Sunday’s game, then we have a chance.
  17. Rex is terrible at everything he does. Having a famous father must be nice.
  18. I’m sure that the franchise could afford to pay a young QB and Tyrod, but would they want to? The regime may believe that the drop off from Tyrod to someone like Bridgewater isn’t significant enough to warrant paying him. You must build a complete team to create a winner. Money can always be used in other areas outside of the QB position. If they believe that Tyrod is a 8-8 QB, it wouldn’t be worth spending extra cash to retain him.
  19. Which would obviously be a huge element in the decision if they have to pay a top rookie QB. That’s why you don’t keep Tyrod around. They are likely to feel that Tyrod doesn’t offer a big enough upside to pay him at that point. Beane and McD could determine that they feel just as confident with a guy like Bridgewater.
  20. Because Bridgewater would fit the offense better than Tyrod. Bridgewater and Tyrod have different styles of play as you mentioned. It’s quite apparent that this regime aren’t big Tyrod fans. They might simply feel more confident with a guy like Bridgewater.
