  1. Only EJ throws picks. What just happened? I don't get it.
  2. Never been an EJ fan, but he's our backup. He played like backup. He played very poorly in the FIRST half. He made some good plays that helped us get back in the game after his early debacles. We've seen Romo try to hand us a game on MNF in the first half, we've seen Brady throwing picks in the first half at the Ralph in the past. However, they came back and won. That's all that counts. I'm not crazy and comparing Manuel to Romo and Brady, I'm just saying that terrible first halves can happen. It's how you respond that counts. I think EJ responded to it well. I know he put us in a hole but he helped drag us out of it, and we were in the lead late. EJ didn't play well, but we could have won. If we did all would have been forgiven. A lot of things made us lose. Bortles TD pass late against our supposed dominant D, the refs bogus PI call, O Line playing terrible, no run game, Roman's play calling etc. I would say its all EJ's fault if he didn't make plays after putting us in a hole. However he did, therfore he's not the sole reason for this loss.
  3. I get it that with many on this post Cassel=Super Bowl. Get back to me when this game is over. EJ had a bad day, but Cassel has had plenty of them throughout his career. EJ is a backup QB. So is Cassel. Cassel has had plenty of meltdowns, it's just that you all haven't followed his career.
  4. Cassel **** the bed plenty with the Chiefs.
  5. Exactly, but being up and down with the Cowboys vs the Bills don't necessarily have the same results. Different team= different results some times, that's the point that some here are missing. QB means everything in this league. Although when you don't have an elite one, the surrounding cast still means a lot.
  6. Cowboys have a better roster than us, many of you need to get over that fact. Plus we don't get the calls the refs give the Cowgirls either. It all makes Cassel look a lot better. Don't know if any of you are paying attention, but they are able to run the ball. Unlike us with McCoy and our questionable O Line.
  7. Because Tom Brady wasn't available, but during the preseason someone determined that Cassel wasn't that much better than EJ. I don't think he is either, the problem is that today is a bad day to make that point.
  8. I hope Cassel plays like Cassel so we don't have to hear all the insanity around here. Cassel and EJ are equal. Neither is very good. However, the Cassel fans are coming out of the woodwork. Acting like we traded Montana. Can't wait to see how it goes. I do want people to remember they have a better O Line than us, and might be able to actually run the ball unlike us.
  9. All you ever hear is how Fitz went to Harvard, but some of his decision making on the field is as dumb as I've ever seen by any QB. On the 2 minute drill, and after the onside recovery with no timeouts he's throwing short over the middle. Stuff like that drove me nuts when he was here.
  10. The Cassel love around here is insane. Bills fans always love the guy they don't have. I'm not saying EJ was great, but people saying Cassel's presence would have made this a definite win is just nuts.
  11. Schwartz was a great defensive coordinator, but didn't anyone watch his Lions teams? They resembled this team with Rex. A complete mess. That being said, the reasons they didn't hire Schwartz are the same why they shouldn't have hired Ryan.
  12. I don't think that's a question that should be answered yet. TT has started 5 regular season games. Played very well in 2, well during garbage time in 2, and made crucial plays to save us when needed against the Titans. I want to be able to see what he does when more of his game film is out there, and teams can game plan better for him. Up to this point he's been an unknown to opponents. A lot of guys have short term success. I want to see it sustained once he returns. Then I'd be willing to say TT all the way.
  13. It says our GM needs to go. The Watkins trade and Manuel draft choice were both absurd and ill advised.
  14. Well said. It seems as if us fans had determined that O Line doesn't matter. Just because Whaley feels that way doesn't make it the truth. It's cliche, but you have to win in the trenches. Also the idea that Watkins is some kind of tremendous weapon is quite the myth around here. Sure he has great skills, but what has he done in the league to show that he's a dominant player? Just because a guy has great skills and dominated in college doesn't mean that's the way it will go in the NFL.
  15. We'd likely be in the same exact spot we are now. The Jets are playing better defense, and they seem to have better O Line and WR play. Marshall has looked better than any of our receivers this year. QB is so crucial in this league, but when you don't have one, everyone else needs to step up. We haven't done that this year, while the Jets have.
  16. They held the receiver on that play too, but the refs missed it.
  17. 3rd down sneak was awful as well. O line really failed us, and Eric Wood who fans overrate got blown up as usual.
  18. Hate to see Shady hurt, but for all intents and purposes that fumble ended our season anyway.
  19. We are very lucky they didn't give it to Yeldon like they should have. I get that Gerhart might be the short yardage guy, but he has NO speed. A faster back would have scored. That being said nice goal line stance.
  20. NFL teams do a horrible job of assessing Quarterbacks. I know you can't get it right everytime, but neither EJ nor Bortles were worthy of first round picks. Let's get over the physical attributes, and just watch game film. See how their college game translates to the NFL.
  21. It's funny how when the media pegs you a "good guy" they'll do anything to cover up reality. Yet if you're a "bad guy" they'll make up stuff just to bury you.
  22. Reality would be nice. Not total gloom and doom, but at least admit that this team needs to play a lot better. Instead these guys are saying that we'll be fine once we get to the "soft part" of the schedule.
  23. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Us Bills fans are unquestionably the most devout in the league. At the same time there aren't too many other markets where I can see the local media and many fans spin early disappointment so well. We were supposed to be able to compete with anyone, at least that's the line that Rex was selling us. Looking at how last year ended it didn't seem unreasonable. Everyone likes to point to the what if's, but honestly we were manhandled by both the Giants and the Bengals. Good teams? Sure, but if you get overmatched by the good teams I wouldn't be so cocky about beating the bad ones. I don't understand why everyone seems to think teams like the Dolphins and Jets can't beat us. If we commit stupid penalties and play like we did against the "good" teams we can lose to anyone.
  24. I don't want to closed minded to the point of saying he doesn't have a drinking problem, just saying a lot of young people go out and drink. It doesn't make you an alcoholic. In this latest instance Manziel did something stupid after supposedly having only two beers. He reeks of arrogance and attitude, I can't picture him not acting like a punk even when he's sober. There are many type of alcoholics, but even this latest episode makes me skeptical. From my experience with alcoholics I don't know of too many that relapse by having two drinks at lunch. He spent this summer in rehab, and relapses by having two drinks? To me that shows someone that is fully capable of controlling their drinking. Rehab doesn't genrally teach you how to slow down your drinking, they tell you to stop. So generally when someone gets that relapse craving they'd want to get drunk. Just seems odd to me. There is such a fine line between alcoholism and binge drinking. I see Manziel as a young binge drinker. Most binge drinkers aren't officially considered alcoholics.
  25. Well said.Whenever I talk with someone about Manziel I bring up similiar points. Manziel drank and partied throughout college, and his time in Cleveland much like any college student would. Does he wake up every morning craving a drink? Does alcohol come before anything else? Those are questions that we may never truly know the answers to. My point is that we will never know if he fits the medical definition of an alcoholic. As far as I'm concerned he simply drinks like a frat boy, and acts like an idiot. He's a spoiled rich kid that would never admit fault for his actions. Proclaiming himself to be an alcoholic enables him to avoid responsibility for his actions. You can't fault someone for having an addiction, but you can fault them for acting like a jerk. Manziel knows this. Rehab really came across as a publicity stunt because of this. If he truly does struggle with legitimate alcoholism, I wish him the best. I just have my doubts.
