Borland isn't a wuss. He's a smart guy that made a choice that works in his life. He made $1 million dollars, and left the game. An intelligent person guy can establish a great future with that in the bank. It's funny how he didn't think about this during college. I don't know the whole story. How many concussions did he have in the NFL? If he had a few it was a wise choice. If not it's hard to believe he had his heart in it.

The straw man is part of your arguement too. How can we confirm that the "demons" these guys suffer is all CTE. How many guys suffer because they are lost without football? I would never say CTE isn't real. I'm just saying we can never quantify cause and effect so simply. I would need more stats about the deaths as well. How many involved undiagnosed heart disease? How many involved ignorant high school coaches that dehydrated players in the heat? Etc. How many were the result of in game hits?

A Team record broken by Taylor
DriveFor1Outta5 replied to BuffaLoko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's one of my favorite things about Tyrod. Even with all the "Captain Checkdown" type QB's we've had they all made killer mistakes constantly. Guys like Orton and Edwards gave the team no chance for big plays, yet still made game altering turnovers. -

SNF: Colts at Steelers
DriveFor1Outta5 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if we won the Jags game with a loss to the Chiefs we would be tied with them at 7-5, and lose the tiebreaker. KC has a very soft schedule remaining. If we were both 7-5 at with them at this point our chances of losing out to them would be high. Win the Chiefs game and at 7-5 we would have controled our own destiny. The ideal situation would have been to win both games. However, the Chiefs loss was bigger. The Jags loss was more pathetic, but the Chiefs was technically bigger. Sorry we can't blame EJ for the entire season fading away. I'm not even an EJ fan, just saying that it would be revisionist history. -

The KC loss is looking like it was probably the season. -

Watkins has Moss and Owens like potential early in his career. Those guys were never targeted only four times. This continues to drive me crazy. Regardless of wins or losses. The issue is still there. -

This ^ Exactly why I'm not going to show a lot of love for Roman because of this one game. They still only targeted Sammy four times! That's not enough. The execution was great today, and big plays made the difference. I'll give the players credit for that. Not ready to give the credit for this one to Roman. -

I just don't see the Steelers not taking a wild card spot. They are consistently in it almost every year. Even when no one knows how. -
Sal Maiorana thinks some fans are insane
DriveFor1Outta5 replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going to make this simple. They are a lot worse this year than last year. I don't know how anyone can deny that. Kyle Orton was the problem last year, and this is coming from someone who isn't completly sold on TT or Roman. We put a lot of heat on QBs last year. We have seen next to nothing this year. KC wouldn't have torched last years defense like they did with us last week. I could be wrong though. It's possible Blake Bortles and Alex Smith are Hall of Fame bound. We'll find out soon if Hoyer needs a bust made too. They did lay an egg at Oakland last year, but that was really the only major defensive letdown last year. We've had a ton this year. -

Isn't Sal the guy who's always insanely negative about the Bills? This is a strange about face. He must enjoy covering Rex. It makes him feel relevant. I just get a laugh out of this because calling for Rex to be fired this early sounds like something Sal himself would say. P.S Rex is a joke. -
Ashley Madison leak -- the fallout begins
DriveFor1Outta5 replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It's not because you're older, it's because you're sensible. I'm thirty and I see it the same way as you. A lot of guys are cheaters. That has nothing to do with whether men are monogamus by nature. In fact plenty of research has been done that indicates people are monogamous by nature. It's the messages that we receive from society that tells us other wise. The media potrays all the "cool" guys as being players that won't settle down with one woman. This is always shown as something these guys do simply because it is the nature of men. That's why so many guys on this board claim that men are polyamourous. I see posts saying that men look at other women, meaning men are suppressing their true desire. Looking and actually taking action on it are two completely different things. Looking does not mean that as a man you aren't naturally monogamous. I hate to tell you guys but your wag's are probably looking at other guys too. It still doesn't say anything about monogamy. Ashley Madison is completely different than looking, these guys had the intention of hooking up with someone. So I don't see the correlation. I just hope that all you guys who don't think men can naturally be monogamous ever get married. That's why we have Ashley Madison scandals now days. The dynamic of relationships have changed greatly since the sixties altered the world. Before the sixites people often married the first person they had a relationship with. Now people often go through dozens of them before marriage. If that's what you find fun, then don't ever get married. Too many people these days make the mistake of getting married, when its something they should never had done. They have no concept of sticking with one person. This is why we live in an Ashley Madison world these days. P.S Any of these guys who thought their secret was so safe are complete idiots. The biggest issue to me is all the college educated men with important roles in society who are too stupid to realize the internet doesn't always remain anonymous. Guys that control us and our children's future. No wonder why some people are so negative about the future of mankind. -
I am a huge fan of all types of rock music. I am guilty of often saying rock music is dead. You're right rock it isn't "dead" as people still listen to it, and I'm sure there are tons of great new bands out there. However, I do think its far to say rock is no longer socially/culturally relevant to the masses in young America. Not in the same way today's so called "country" is to rural America or what rap is to urban America. That's what rock used to be to America. It's not that relevant anymore.

Rumor: Browns target Urban Meyer to be next HC
DriveFor1Outta5 replied to Cynical's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be like Urban Meyer to jump ship in Columbus with some as of yet unknown NCAA penalty lurking. It would also be like the Browns to hire a successful college coach who ends up setting the franchise back another five years. For those reasons I can almost see it happening. Although logically speaking I don't see it happening. -
Finally just read the article. I actually found it hilarious. Let's hope Sammy is full of it, or we're in big trouble. He even said the clouds and rain in KC had the potential to get the guys down. If clouds bring this team down we're really up the creek. Do they know they play in Buffalo? Just pathetic. The players are millionaires, yet one says you can't let overcast weather affect you. That shouldn't even be a thought. Maybe the Bills theme song should be Dio's Rainbow in the Dark. When it rains you know it always brings us down.

Thats your taste, and I have a right to have mine. The Foo Fighters wouldn't have been a mad choice at all. A lot of the other acts you mentioned are talented, but I don't see them as Super Bowl Halftime material. I just think it's an event that's one of the biggest in the world. It requires a halftime show that is loud and energetic. Not many of those types of rock bands exist anymore. Jason Isbell and The Avetts are talented but do not fit the mold. None are big enough to do a halftime show either. Rock in its purest form is dead. We are left with folk music, country rock, jam bands and other varities. The difference between pop and rock may not be as simple as you think either. Pop is a word originally intended to be applied to any music that becomes popular.
-
I say abolish the halftime show. Rock music is close to being officially dead. As a classic rock fan I had no problem with the "old guy" halftime shows, but soon those guys will all be gone. That leaves us with bands like Coldplay. Their brand of modern whiny soft rock is far too common imo. Totally incompatible with football. I like to call Coldplay's style of music Grey's Anatomy rock. That's where it belongs. Today's pop music, and the rubbish they call "country" are mainly targeting young women. These types of music make no sense being grouped together with football. It just doesn't fit the demographic. Unless you're a drunk guy that just wants to stare at Beyonce or Katy Perry for fifteen minutes. So at least female pop stars make more sense than Coldplay though.

I rarely watch the NFL outside of Bills games anymore. The league has no consistency or integrity since Goodell has taken over. I don't think anyone is saying it wasn't technically a face mask. People are just saying that not everyone gets the call. The Lions did blow it, but not every team plays by the same set of rules. Anyone who thinks that must not be watching the same Bills games I have this year. TT takes a beating every game: hits up high, facemasks, hits after the ball is released and hits slightly out of bounds. All calls that Brady or Rodgers get. We can never prove it but I'm close to being certain Taylor doesn't get the call Rodgers did last night. An official themselves told Cam Newton he " wasn't old enough to get a call" earlier this year. So how can anyone deny that this is a problem? Even if Hochuli was just joking it shows that the idea still exists in the minds of officials. I know it has in every sport in the past, but the NFL has turned it into a protect Rodgers and Brady policy. I can explain it easily. The official probably didn't see it. Sometimes they really do miss calls. Even the ones they wanted to see that benefit the poster boys.
-
The penalty would have been "missed" if it didn't involve a marquise team, and one of the NFL's golden boys. That's why Detroit and Buffalo are "cursed". p,s not saying it wasn't a just call, I'm just saying how it would have went down had roles been reversed.

Come on people. Use the eye test. This simply isn't a playoff team. That being said I'm hoping for the best this week. I'm just having a difficult time not seeing more losses in the future regardless of this week's outcome. Even with a win this week, this years Bills will find a way to lose another game. You can't just mark wins on a schedule based on opponent.
