  1. I agree, although I don't blame this phenomenon on the fans. The media has the ability to potray a guy in any light that they want. It often simply comes down to whether or not a guy is friendly to the media. If he is, off field transgressions will be ignored. If he isn't, he will be portrayed as a horrible guy. I'm not saying Fitzgerald should be blacklisted either, I'm just agreeing that there is an irony in how he's always portrayed as the "good guy". Other guys are forever the "bad guy" for similar incidents. It all depends upon the player's relationship with the media.
  2. I think that describes their issues best. Manning might not have much left, but open things up a bit. Try to get something going.
  3. Yeah, I'm not a big Kubiak fan. He hasn't comitted to anything this year. I'm really beginning to think Kubiak's offense would be in better hands with Osweiler in the second half.
  4. I certainly agree with that. Although I must say the Bills agree too. That's why we've been trying to capture that lighting in a bottle by turning to Donahoe, and now Whaley.
  5. Suddently I love all our wideouts. This makes Hogan look like Largent. This is playoff football, you're going to take hits. You have to hold on to the football. It wasn't a bang bang play. The hit was delivered slightly after Sanders already had the ball. Broncos wideouts are soft.
  6. Steelers could beat them. Not seeing it out of Denver right now though.
  7. I'm not doubting the fact that Manning's physical skills have diminished, but this Kubiak offense really doesn't allow him to do what he does best. I can't believe more hasn't been made of this. Fans and media are so hung up on Manning's physical decline that this point is being missed. The guy is used to controlling his offense, and being able to get into a grove. Kubiak's offense doesn't allow this. Througout his career Manning always relied on hot streaks where he became unstoppable. In an offense he doesn't control, he can't establish a rhythm.
  8. Thomas has so much talent, but all his drops would drive me crazy if he were on my team.
  9. All of the recent development in Buffalo is great. It gives the college students, doctors, and lawyers somewhere to play. My point is that many of the issues that plagued the area and caused people to leave still exist. Ever since industry left the area there is a major lack of decent paying non professional middle class jobs. Look at auto manufacturers such as Toyota, Nissan, and Kia that have located their American factories mostly in the South. Sure, those places don't pay anywhere close to what GM used to, but still pay much better than a person without a college education is going to get in Buffalo. New York State and Buffalo have slowly degenerated into being upper middle class/upper class and the poor who recieve public assistance etc. The disappearing American middle class became apparent in WNY long before the rest of the US imo. This is why people seek opportunity other places, and the government still hasn't really addressed it. We are being sold a bill of goods thay everything looks great because a few wealthy investors have put money into the waterfront. That being said, the city of Buffalo does look better than it has in a long time. This should help things a great deal. Hopefully things will continue to look up. I'm not saying that things aren't better now than they have been in the past. I'm also not trying to put down Buffalo. It's a cool city with a lot to do. I'm just making the point that there is a reason many people are gone. I don't think the problem has been solved, and until our local and state government get it together it won't be. Sadly I don't see that happening.
  10. The Manning of old has been gone all year. Even if the Manning of old somehow does return, the old Manning was never as good in the postseason as he was during the regular season. It would require a complete reversal of his previous fortunes. Due to Manning's historical playoff struggles combined with this season's difficulties, there is no way I see Denver representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. Unless Manning gets benched again and Osweiler can string a couple good games together. I find that scenario far more plausible.
  11. Yeah he's a real loser. Consistently making the playoffs throughout his career, and taking the Eagles to four straight NFC Championship games. I think what he's been able to do with what he has in KC is great. He's going to the divisional round with a QB who never even throws to wideouts, unless he's playing the Bills. I suppose he's a terrible coach since he hasn't won a Super Bowl? I'd think Bills fans would understand how unfair that is more than anyone.
  12. Everytime I see a Dan Snyder Redskins team hosting a playoff game I'm reminded how incredible the Bills futility really is.
  13. Winning those last two games has seemed to do a lot to alter peoples memories.
  14. The only way this game gets interesting is because Landry Jones performs poorly, and provides the Bengals with a spark. Seeing a star QB leave the game with an injury and open the door for the opponent is not my idea of quality playoff football.
  15. Who knows. It seems like we got our stuff together at the end of year. However, Dallas was epically bad, and Fitz had a classic Fitz fail in the Jets finale. We would have had to travel to Houston or Cincinnati as well. How quickly some of us forget Rexy's defensive meltdowns this year. Houston was in the playoff by default due to a horrible division. We probably would have beat them. I'm not so certain that Rex wouldn't have McCarron look like Elway though.
  16. Aside from the Bills I have lost almost all interest in the NFL this year. The games have been boring, poorly officiated, with what seems like many positions lacking talent. Todays games have done nothing to change my mind. This isn't the same game I remember growing up. Keep in mind I'm only 30.
  17. There's no way I can be sold on this guy. The level of competition is very concerning to me. It makes it such a challenge to evaluate him against other top prospects. He may become a great NFL QB, I just find it far too risky to draft him in the early rounds. Romo is really the only example of an FCS QB with NFL success in recent memory. Even he went undrafted. I'd take Wentz in rounds 4-7, but it looks like he's going to go much higher. Too much is going to be based on potential as opposed to game tape against upper echelon talent. I love taking chances on those types of guys, just not in the early rounds. No thanks.
  18. You articulated a point I tried to make in an earlier post perfectly. If she were ill, she would have visited a doctor. She wouldn't have gone to "a guy". It's amazing how people can run from the facts when they don't want believe something.
  19. This is a classic case of nice guys always being innocent in the court of public vs disliked guys always being guilty. There is not enough there to prove guilt beyond a reasonably doubt. However, if this were Brady no one would be coming to his defense. So I think the last post says it all.
