  1. Good call. Funny how the Pats* can do that all day long.
  2. Why would it get worse? Expectations should already be for a loss. If today's loss upsets anyone, they are highly delusional. You can't be upset with what you already know.
  3. Eli Manning as well. The SEC has been all about defense and smash mouth football. As a result there hasn't been a ton of SEC NFL QBs. The majority of SEC QBs have been game manager types. The fact that the conference is about the run game and defense makes what Kelly has done even more impressive imo. QBs in the SEC don't put up big numbers typically. That's why there aren't many in the NFL. No because most SEC QBs haven't been very good. That doesn't mean they aren't playing against dominant defenses. Kelly has shredded SEC defenses, and I find that impressive.
  4. Fair enough, but Cutler lacks toughness and passion for the game. These issues can be overcome when you come back to make big plays after making a mistake. Cutler just folds, and quits on his team. Favre had "sketchy mechanics" and made boneheaded decisions. Just because those two facts might be true, it doesn't make every QB with those traits the same guy.
  5. I agree with some of this, except the part about players being more successful at their job than fans are. I disagree. If we were as good at our jobs as Bills players are at theirs we would have all been fired.
  6. That's really all that counts. If he is still a punk who acts like a jerk just add him to the list of thousands of other QBs.
  7. Kelly we be a very good pro, and if we pass on him we will regret it. Did anyone see some of the throws he made yesterday? He's doing this against SEC competition too. Jay Cutler comparisons are ridiculous. Cutler doesn't care about football. Kelly wouldn't be sitting out a NFC championship game like Cutler did. Cutler and Kelly may be similar as far as playing styles, but it stops there. Cutler lacks passion for the game. He just doesn't care. Kelly has been an immature punk in the past, but the kid enjoys playing football.
  8. Good point. Things are rough when even the Super Bowl champs can be hard to watch. Watching Denvers offense is like watching paint dry. You simply watch to see if their defense can dominate, and create enough turnovers to win. More often than not they do.
  9. I agree. There are very few sure things. A successful formula to determine who will succeed in the NFL has yet to be created. That's why I always simply base my assesment on the intangible "it" factors. Of course my method is far from exact, but the NFL requires more than just talent. I like to see leadership, competitive fire, confidence, and fearlessness shine through when a QB plays in college. I don't know if I see enough of it in Kizer to make me fall in love with him. He's been playing well, but once again translated the college game to the pros is not easy.
  10. AJ Green, OBJ, Antonio Brown, and especially Gronk have all missed time from injuries. The real issue with Sammy is his lack of production when he is on the field. Whether it's coaching, QB play, Sammy himself or all of the above, we need more production from him. He hasn't played like an elite WR. All of your comments are just responses to your frustration with how awful this team is. If we were 2-0 being without Sammy this week wouldn't seem so terrible. I'm concerned with him being injury prone too, but I think knocking him for missing a game is not the point. The real issue is the nagging nature of his injuries. I don't think he has really ever been 100% healthy since being here. I think this impacts his production, and has played a part in him not reaching his potential. If he can't recover from these injuries he'll go down as another Bills draft bust. Calling him a wuss for missing the game doesn't change the fact that he wouldn't be of any use on the field. No sense in sending him out there on crutches. So is Gronk a wuss too?
  11. I wanted to post a legit comment, but all I saw was dog meat and Michael Vick in the same paragraph.
  12. I don't really care either way, but I could live without more touchdown celebrations. When I tune in to watch football I have no interest in watching men dance.
  13. Really? He might be juicing, but I'm not really sure the NFL is fully committed to catching juicers either. Do you see what some of these guys look like? Just my opinion. I simply believe that no one should believe for a minute that the NFL has some incredible strict/legit PED testing program.
  14. I agree, the more you understand the game of football the more you'll dislike today's NFL. Nothing makes sense anymore. How about TT being forced to leave the game for concussion protocol due to a blow to the head, yet no roughing the passer flag? It's confusing, and downright disgusting at times.
  15. The product just has too many weaknesses. Last nights Texans vs Patriots matchup was the perfect example. There are too many teams like the Texans that need to be relegated to a lower level European soccer style. I don't care how great of a coach the hoodie may be, there was a time when a third string rookie would never have defeated even the worst NFL team. It's even more disgusting considering what they paid to get Osweiler. The stats for both teams from that game are pure trash. The product simply stinks across the board, with the exception of the top teams. I also feel the need to comment regarding posts claiming guilt over CTE, and other injuries. Football is at a weird stage where even many fans say that'd never let their kids play. I have a little theory regarding CTE and injuries. What if both the pros and college actually gave more than just lip service to performance enhancing drugs? I can imagine a scandal greater than baseball. CTE and injuries would still occur, but what if we had normal sized humans playing this game? The injuries would be far less frequent and severe. I'm not putting down all the hard work many players put in to stay fit, but I'm also not naive enough to believe steroids/peds aren't insanely widespread in football. P.s far too many guys injuried hurt the product too. We see tons of guys going down without even getting hit week after week.
  16. Everyone relax, we won't lose to Edelman. No way BB goes in the the game with Edelman as the starting QB. They'll sign someone off the street. Probably JP Losman. Trent Edwards, Thad Lewis, or maybe Jeff Tuel.
  17. I don't think they are "meddling owners" in the sense of the term, but all of this makes the franchise look bad. These debates don't get out into the media with successful franchises. Please don't mention Jerrah either. Everything that team has done is in spite of his presence. When rumors like this leak out it means that we decrease our odds of drawing any quality people to this franchise.
  18. I enjoyed that. Thanks. Even though much of is meant for humor, I do tend to agree that any other coach and GM would have won another Super Bowl with Rodgers. During the Packs Super Bowl run we saw a guy who looked like the most talented QB to ever step onto the field. It wasn't just promised talent in the form of potential either. It was talent that we were actually seeing be put to use. When you look at a guy like Manning who strung together almost 17 straight great seasons minus the injury, that's what you would expect from Rodgers. Instead we are seeing the guy put up quite average numbers. He also has an unusual amount of very poor games compared to other elite QBs. It's hard not to believe that the coach and GM are really failing that franchise. Rodgers is a once in a lifetime talent, and something seems amiss.
  19. Did the Jets leave Cortland a while ago? I do agree with you about the winning issue. I don't ever think CNY will be real Bills territory though. In reality the only true Bills territory that has ever existed and will exist is WNY. Winning would just mean more people in CNY jumping on the bandwagon. I think people all over the country would jump on the Bills bandwagon if we started winning. I have always believed winning is the best marketing. Eventually all the smoke and mirrors used to sell your product will fade if you're not offering a decent product.
  20. Understandable, just saying if Syracuse was Bills country as the "regionalization" attempted they wouldn't be showing the Giants game. I know plenty of people in Rochester who'd rather not see the Bills get destroyed every week. It's just something you're stuck with when you are truly part of the teams region. Syracuse is definitely not Bills country as some claim. My only question pertains to the green streak east of Syracuse. Does that mean Utica Fox is randomly showing the Bills game?
  21. Thanks. I hate to start chaos, but I can't bite my tongue. Formally living in the Syracuse area, I always got a laugh out of hearing how brilliantly Russ Brandon "regionalized" this team. Every single time the Bills and Giants both play at the same time on Fox, Fox Syracuse has always picked the Giants game. Jersey is farther from Syracuse than Buffalo, yet it is strongly Giants country.
  22. Aaron Rodgers is 32 years old, by QB standards there's no way he should be hitting the wall. That's why I'm not ready to blame age for his struggles. Kelly was leading us to our third Super Bowl at 32. Sure that proverbial wall came shortly after, but not at 32. Kelly's stats were decling, but he was still a big time player. Move on to more recent times, and you'll see 32 is nothing for a QB. Manning was in his prime at 32.
  23. Not tough, but I do almost have a little sympathy for them. They are stuck with a crap coach who hasn't been able to fully utilize all the talent on the roster aside from the Super Bowl season. Sounds a little like what some think is happening here. There is no way this team shouldn't be better. They have failed to reach their potential the last several years. Aaron Rodgers is their QB for crying out loud They have far more talent then us, although I know plenty of posters who would disagree. They should have gone a lot father than they have in recent seasons.
