  1. The only way I can think you could prep for the test would be if someone gave you the questions before hand. It wouldn't shock me if that has happened.
  2. If I'm not mistaken those two paragraphs contradict each other?
  3. Yes, but many football players didn't really attend high school or college.
  4. I agree. It's hard to really trust the validity of these scores. In reality we aren't even supposed to know them. I've always read several articles that claim players have upped their scores doing retakes.
  5. That really wasn't a great WR group, but I have just never been willing to give Fitz the love so many other fans did. The biggest issue Fitz struggled with was under throwing receivers. It doesn't matter if he played with subpar recievers. Under throws are almost always on the QB. His arm wasn't strong, but he didn't want to understand that fact. I will always view him as a below average starter and a top notch backup. The problem is that the guy always ended up being a starter everywhere he went.
  6. and a brain that knew the limits of that arm. Great point about how he played like Favre. He could have been really successful had he played like Alex Smith.
  7. Yes, but many times he did have a choice. I'll never forget the Giants game in the Meadowlands. I think we were up late in the game. Fitz tries to force a sideline throw that he isn't capable of making. It resulted in a pick, and the Bills lost the game. He would force unnecessary throws even when we were leading. He doesn't know his limitations, and has poor situational awareness.
  8. Yes. Maybe my family is weird but I never really viewed New Years as a crucial family holiday. Thanksgiving,Christmas Eve and Day,Easter and even July 4th are family holidays to me. I've spent many New Year's Day having family meals, but I don't think it is ever that crucial for me to be there. It's not like Christmas. New Year's Eve was always more of a party time to me than a family time.
  9. It really doesn't matter who we play. We need to go out and win games one week at a time. The NFL is insanely unpredictable. We can lose to anyone or we can beat anyone. It's impossible to look at a schedule in April and draw any conclusions from it.
  10. He did, but he could have taken multiple teams to the playoffs if he were aware of his own limitations. Fitz had an uncanny ability to make poor decisions at the most crucial moments. It's ironic that the biggest downfall for the Harvard grad was often the mental aspect of the game.
  11. I'm not saying there aren't great charities out there. I'm just saying that I'm skeptical about foundations created by the wealthy. They are generally simply tax write offs. In order to be considered a charity only a small percentage needs to actually go to the charity. The remaining money can cover other costs i.e go tax free into someone's pocketbook. This is how I feel. Studies have shown that it does more good to donate time rather than money to charity. Money is almost always squandered or used a different manner than most people think.
  12. This is what rich people do. Nothing to see imo. As another poster mentioned it's also why I'm cynical regarding charities.
  13. I'd never say that the Vikes blew a pick in AP. I would say that a star running back can be an important part of a team's success. However, that team needs to have other things in place first. Drafting an elite running back isn't going to turn a franchise around without everything else already in place. Barry Sanders was certainly not a wasted pick, even he couldn't carry his team to much success. PS Terrell Davis was a sixth round pick so I think that was a great. You can find great running in late rounds. Having a stellar (dirty?) offensive line as Davis did helps a great deal too.
  14. True, but they stil never played in a Super Bowl with the guy. In a QB driven league I just don't see a lot of value in that position. I would never take a RB sooner than the late first or second round. A great back isn't going to carry a team to a championship. A great QB will, and they often do so with second round or later guys in the backfield.
  15. When was the last time any RB was actually worth a top 10 pick?
  16. I agree. I'm seeing a few people make excuses for the EJ pick. In fact I've read a few posts with quite in depth analysis of EJ. It's not really that complicated. EJ was a reach and a poor draft choice. He was surrounded with superior talent at FSU but didn't fully utilize it. Winston came in and won a national championship when EJ left. He wasn't very good at FSU and was destined to be the same in the pros.
  17. I think you may have accidentally summed up the entire Hernandez saga.
  18. I admit to not knowing much about what occurred. Regardless everything Hernanzdez did was to prove his gang banger status. Gang banger culture is responsible for these types of crimes. It has nothing to do with mental illness. I'm not going to sit here claiming the mentally ill guy couldn't stop himself. There is a such thing as committing evil deeds. These days everyone sadly likes to blame everything on mental illness. It's the easy way out. It deflects blame from the perpetrator, and allows us to avoid discussing societal factors.
  19. Not terrible logic on your part. I see a lot of people commenting using the term "mental illness". You don't have to be mentally ill to do what Hernandez did. There are many other mental and social factors that play a role. The gang banger culture is a complex study on human nature. The majority of these guys aren't as tough as they portray to the outside world.
  20. Great post. Everyone on this forum seems to refer to Winston and Mariota as franchise QBs. What have these guys won? They've both had soild starts to their career. Winston and Mariota are both unique QBs. Countless guys have started their career hot before opponents figure out how to game plan against them.
  21. The kid has a poor track record as evidenced by your list of his transgressions. It still doesn't mean I wouldn't sign him as UDFA. There's really nothing to lose in that scenario. Everything he did on your list was immature and idiotic. However on a more humorous note, I wish more players would yell at coaches for punting on fourth and short. I'm good with that
  22. This ^ Butler is just going to pout and be a bad teammate. BB wants nothing to do with that. They'll be sure to send him somewhere.
  23. Malik Hooker Whitner,Watkins,Spiller,Maybin, and McCargo are just a few that come to mind.
  24. Are we sure that Whaley would be considered a great GM if we had Andrew Luck? We've already seen what Luck achieves with below average teammates assembled by a bad GM. I guess you think more highly of Whaley than I.
