  1. That's how I feel. It doesn't matter that McD is running the show. You don't just cast aside someone the franchise invested so heavily in. Even a new regime should be able to understand how much was given up to get him. They wouldn't have to agree with the original trade, but you stick with a guy the franchise you work for gave up so much to get. Somewhere Belichick is smiling anxiously awaiting Watkins to become free agent. This is all McD.
  2. I can't believe there is anyone out there who doesn't believe this. I don't know if he'll never be a GM, but he does like look a joke. McDermott has stepped in and completely pushed him aside. The Rex Ryan drafts also looked more like Rex was pulling the strings as well.
  3. Fair enough. If you didn't like the trade to begin with it's fair to agree with declining the option. People who liked the trade would be hypocritical to favor decling the option now. Whaley obviously like the trade, he's the guy who made it. That is the part I don't understand about this. What does this say about Whaley?
  4. Recievers often take time to develop. You don't make that crazy trade if you're not going to commit to him four years later. So you thought the trade was a bad one to begin with? We could have already had our steak if we didn't make the Sammy trade. We made the trade because we thought we were getting a premium cut. You don't find that everyday. Elite recievers don't grow on trees.
  5. We already broke one cow's back to draft him. When you do that you better be willing to break another cow's back to extend him beyond his rookie contract. Five years isn't enough time to show what a reciever will become.
  6. It doesn't matter that he has been injured. When you commit that much to a guy you have to stick with him. It shows that McDermott is running the show.
  7. I thought this was a political post at first. On a series note I don't think that any reasonable person hates White. I think he's a good player. The only valid complaint is our rinse and repeat cycle with corners. We let them go because we can't afford them only to draft another. I'd be fine letting a corner walk to fill the spot with a cheaper free agent. The issue is using first round picks to replace holes you created. Corners don't win championships for franchises.
  8. I heard this happens. Now it makes me wonder if I have the guts to wait until close to the show to buy tickets. Do you know if prices always seem to drop? Also do they commonly sell out on Stubhub? Just curious because I remember when the Stones and McCartney played in Buffalo I looked at the prices the day before the show. They didn't seem to drop much.
  9. Given Pegs and Whaleys MO I find it hard to believe they would have traded back. There is no way I don't see both of these guys wanting to do something flashy with the 10th pick. I'm not saying Whaley isn't in charge. I'm just saying that McDermott had a major influence. Isn't it obvious that' Rex had a major influence on the draft while he was here? Our drafts with Rex looked just like the Jets drafts with him.
  10. Yep. Brady is going roast who ever is out there. It's been happening for the past 15+ years. We need to be able to do what we never can do. Outscore someone. In order to do that you need a QB along with a coach who values offense. We haven't had either in a long time.
  11. Soft? I guess we needed to replace Gilmore. Might as well get someone similar to him.
  12. Hooker is a ball hawk. If the turnovers aren't coming his way I worry that he won't have that much value. He's far from a complete player at this point. I could see him being somewhat Jairus Byrd like.
  13. I would love that pick. I think you can get soild value at that position in the late first round. Teams are built in the trenches.
  14. I've been known to defend Sullivan, but that's just a lazy comment. It's hard to tell how this will work out. Have people selectively forgotten that Andy Reid thought Kevin Kolb was a franchise QB? Andy Reid isn't infallible.
  15. Wow. Billick is an idiot. Leave it to the guy who went with Kyle Boller for years. What does he know about QB's?
  16. I agree. Might as well go all in on next season, and forget about this one.
  17. But why would another team give up that spot for anything? If Darnold has a good season at USC why would you trade away the chance at a franchise QB for anything?
  18. Fair enough, but if you're the team in the number one spot next year why would you give it up? Teams that draft number one overall need a QB. You wouldn't give it up for anything. When Andrew Luck was drafted I doubt that the Colts would have traded down for anything. Nothing is more valuable than a franchise QB.
  19. I agree, this team needs to stockpile as much talent as they can right now.
  20. Yes, but Darnold is going to be big time. I don't know if two first round picks will be enough to move into the number one overall pick. No one is going to give up that number one pick next year imo.
