Jags unlikely to allow Yannick Ngakoue to test FA

Not sure Shaq will be cheaper in the long term. And I believe him more limited as a player. -

Trading him will bring his hit to $15M. Usually these deals involve restructures to near market value anyway. Something like 2 years, $22M with 11 guaranteed to spread out the hit. And with the way this offseason is playing out for the Jags, he may be had for 2 fifths. Not saying he’s the only way to address DE this offseason, but he’d be a boost. He’d be tied for 2nd in sacks on the 2019 Bills with 6.5. These are the moves that turn competitive teams into contenders. I’m not even sure if our fifth rounders will even make the roster next year, depending on the moves we make in FA. -

That’s the player Buffalo needs to be in on. Package some of our picks to get him here. If he’s going to be a cap casualty, he shouldn’t be too pricey at his current contract. -
If this account starts posting game recaps with apropos song lyrics, then I am already dead. But there may be time to save my wife and dog. You will need to hurry.

He’s incorrect. No one calls trading up from pick 22 to 16 in the first round as anything BUT trading up in the first round. Regardless of compensation.

No offense but I don’t think you really know what the situation is there. If the Cardinals trade DJ, it will cost them $2M more this season than keeping him because of his dead cap. If they “need to sign Drake” why would they try to do it with $2M less in cap space? Cardinals also have a projected $51M in space this offseason, hardly barely enough to sign Drake. When Houston traded Osweiler it SAVED them $10M in cap space. That’s why you trade big contracts, to get cap relief. Not lose cap space.

I love Fred but revisionist history. Fred made $18M from the Bills over 6 years. During that time, he rushed for 1000 yards once. He had two season back to back in which he only played 10 games. There’s no doubt Fred missed out on some earlier career earnings, but that’s why the rookie contract cuts both ways. The Bills offered Fred 4 years at $7.5M after a decent season and he took it. If he went to LSU and was drafted in the first round, he would have made more. That’s why people go to LSU, not Coe College.

They play different positions, rocket surgeon. Also, JP isn’t just a product of the system. He’s a product of fortuitous opportunity. Which may not rear its head again.

Lol the coaches strong armed Mr “Does His Job” into taking a paycut. If the coaches were happy about Star’s production, why did they make him take less money when we have $80M in cap space?
-
Don’t sign anyone who isn’t a 26 year old All Pro?
-
It’s almost like 26 year All-Pros don’t regularly hit free agency. Weird.
-
We may be able to afford him and then walk away from Star next season.

The DT market gets stronger this offseason.

If Josh Allen busts, would you argue against ever trading up for a QB again?
-
They had a down year no doubt, but they have a boatload of talent. Gurley gets healthy and they add Slay to that defensive core and they could win 10 games in that division I think. Nothing is a guaranteed fix. Goff is a capable QB, McVay is the one who needs to make some adjustments. It also costs them cap space to move on from Gurley at this point in time.

This will never happen.

Where Would CJ Spiller Go In 2020?
BringBackOrton replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The converse is that he had one pretty good year. As a top 10 pick. There was a debate at one point of Jamaal Charles vs Spiller. It didn’t last long but it did exist.
