Jaguars to decline DT Marcell Dareus' option
BringBackOrton replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, he was on their roster for those two wins.... I don’t know if the only two options were trading Dareus mid season for a maximum cap penalty or keeping him for 3 years. -

Somehow, the Jags have still won more playoff games than the Bills have since the Dareus trade. -
Yardbarker review of Josh Allen 2019 season

They did go “pass happy,” when they were down. I just demonstrated that they called 10 passes to 7 RB runs down 7. Pointing to the end of game stats, when we had a lead for the rest of the game, doesn’t change that. You were wrong. That’s okay. -

Your point is bad because it’s fabricated. In the Dallas game, after going down 7-0, we had 10 passing plays called, 7 RB rushing plays called. We scored on a passing play, and then transitioned to running more. We did start to pass more when we we were down, we tied the game and then we won. You lose. -

Teams that run the ball win more is because teams run the ball more when they have a lead. Teams with a lead win more than teams who trail. Passing plays don’t cause sacks or fumbles. Players failing to execute cause sacks and fumbles. Players making bad decisions cause sacks and fumbles. If you take out our QB’s rushing attempts, you have to take out every other QB’s rushing attempts when comparing to the rest of the league. Or else it’s apples to orangutans. Why not just take out Singletary’s attempts too? Then we were 32nd in the NFL! -

It’s throwing a second year QB “to the wolves” when you ask him to pass when we’re down on the scoreboard. Incredible stuff. You know your point falls flat on its face when you realize the Bills were 24th in the NFL in passing attempts and 6th in rushing attempts, right? -
Go after Amari Cooper?

Not sure if you remember that game correctly. 10 point lead on the Pats in the 4th. Leo Fournette averaged like 1 YPC in the 4th Q. Defense let up 14 to Brady in the fourth. -
I actually don’t agree on the Allen/Rosen wins. The defense kept us in a lot of games, no doubt, and are a huge reason we won a lot of games. But Allen made a lot of clutch plays to seal wins not a lot of QBs make. It’s how a guy like Tim Tebow can end up winning more than a Kyle Orton, even though Orton was the clearly superior QB.

What pending FA this season will command a sizable contract and predictably not live up to it? Hard mode: No Jordan Phillips My guess is Perriman. Really turned it up in the second half of the season and put up some good numbers with Jameis. I could see him getting a decent deal and never come close to delivering.

Drops per target would matter more as a stat. Dude sees 100+ targets per year. Yards per target would suggest that Cooper is doing okay in the drops category. Tenth in the NFL last year. 3rd in recievers with over 100 targets. That’s pretty elite. -
Browns likely to release DE Olivier Vernon

A year removed from 7 sacks and 21 QB hits in 11 games. For reference, Shaq had 10.5 sacks and 30 QB hits in the last 29 games. -
Predict Shaq Lawson's contract
BringBackOrton replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh, Shaq is in the no mans’ land of players for me. Nice guy, nice player to have, but not worth what he’ll command. His production can be had by a cheaper player, and he commands too much to be a rotational player on this defense. Luckily, we have so much space this year it won’t matter. But theoretically, he would be a guy I wouldn’t pay if building a team from scratch. -
Jags unlikely to allow Yannick Ngakoue to test FA

I’m not sure much unless there are a lot of teams in on trading for him. Cutting him gives them nothing. They’d take something pretty reasonable I imagine. The bigger issue is does Campbell hold out without a restructure. I’d say probably.
