  1. If EJ wasn’t Whaley’s guy, Whaley would have eventually drafted a QB high over the next 5 years, but he didn’t.
  2. Awful look for the Jets in an year filled with them.
  3. It has nothing to do with 300 yard or multi TD games. I’m not sure Allen beats Minshew in a single statistical category. Ditto for Wentz or Goff. I certainly ask myself why all these young first, second and third year QB’s are able to be better than our QB. I’m growing increasingly worried about the answer.
  4. do you ever think if Watson can do it, why can’t Allen? Or if Minshew can do it, why not Allen? Or if Goff can do it, why not Allen? Or if Wentz can do it, why not Allen?
  5. Okay, I guess I’m trying to tease out a different distinction. What unrealistic expectations do you think are made of young QB’s? Do you think folks expect a QB like Allen to be Mahomes? Or do they expect him to just be a good QB? Do you think Jags fans are upset that Minshew isn’t playing at a Mahomes level, or do you think they are content with his level of play as a rookie?
  6. Most QB’s who are good though are usually pretty good by their second or third year though. Your initial point was about unrealistic expectations though, and there’s nothing unrealistic about expecting young QB’s to be good by their second to third years because, again, most good QB’s are good by that time. The anomalies are really the sucky QB’s in years 2-3 eventually becoming good.
  7. Really? How many good QB’s weren’t good by their second or third year in the league??
  8. Watson has been really good as well. That doesn’t help.
  9. Well we are 5-2 with that model. Unfortunately, Josh can’t seem to stop making mistakes.
  10. Unfortunately, offensive production is not tied to defensive points allowed. But defensive points allowed is related to offensive turnovers. The answer was 3 points btw. 3 points allowed in almost the entire first half.
  11. Tomorrow's WGR Narrative, What it should be: "Today the O while not great" 13 points scored would have beaten 2 of the 28 teams that played today. Today the O was just “not great.” Incredible.
  12. Well McD was running the defense in Carolina when Kuechly was drafted, who was an incredible athlete prior to be drafted, who was also drafted in the first round, who also played MLB in the same defense that we play, and also had the same run and pass coverage responsibilities. The phrase “he’s our Kuechly” has been written here no less than 100 times.
  13. If the D gave up 14, we still would have lost. Incredible how this offense gets a pass.
  14. Not sure you watched the first half. How many points did the defense allow prior to Allen’s fumble? How many yards?
  15. Luke Kuechly was DROY in his first season, and then DPOY, 1st team All-Pro in year two.
  16. The defense was playing great until Allen giftwrapped the Eagles 7. All today proved is that this defense can’t carry Allen for 16 games.
  17. I’ve read before that NFC losses help you make the playoffs.
  18. Yeah I think you’re wrong. I don’t know when the offensive line wasn’t a part of the offense. And I’m pretty sure I said the defense couldn’t bail us out today, which implied they didn’t play to their normal level.
