  1. He wasn't as talented as first round talents?
  2. Wasn't he healthy in games 9-16 this year? I think unhealthy Shaq Lawson was better.
  3. "If" we signed McK, it'd be like having an extra first rounder in 2017. With all these extra 2017 first round picks, it begs the question of who we picked with our first and second picks in 2016. Clearly, nobody.
  4. Getting Sammy, Dareus, Hughes, Ragland, Tre White, Shaq back and re-signing McKelvin is like getting an extra 11 first round picks!
  5. I think the Bills are top 5. The need for "OL help" is greatly exaggerated.
  6. What? Ryan Tannehill improved every year and had a franchise caliber year in his third year. Then when he regressed a little bit after, they stuck with him because of what they saw previously.
  7. I'm not sleeping on Glennon right now. I dont think he deserved his contract but I think he could live up to it. Super unpopular opinion though.
  8. RT's third year was franchise QB material and thus he got a longer leash.
  9. I don't agree. Good prospects go early. You take guys you think will be good when you can.
  10. No. The Saints are limited by handing out horrible contracts for "quick fixes" that has resulted in a ton of dead money. The Broncos managed to build around Peyton for 4 years and only in his last year required a paycut. Rodgers isn't taking "a lot less money." Wilson is still in the playoffs every year getting paid. Does a big contract limit you a little bit? Sure. Is it the chief reason teams with good, highly paid QB's aren't always good? Nope. If your thinking was correct, the Saints would jump at a Brees for TT trade straight up. There's just no way. Why? EJ was also picked in the first.
  11. Some of them are? Cardinals were in the NFCCG only a year ago. Luck had 3 straight years of 10+ wins and playoff runs, with one AFCCG game appearance before he got a little banged up. Brees isn't in the playoffs every year due to horrible team building, not his annual salary. Derek Carr was a SB contender last year and an MVP candidate. I think if you think TT + $15M is better than Drew Brees who is a for sure Hall of Famer who threw 5,200 yards and 37 TD's last year, then I don't know what to say, really. Taking Carr wouldn't have "pulled the plug" on EJ. It would have given us another prospect to develop when EJ faltered, like he did.
  12. I think Whaley was just watching the wrong FSU tape the whole time.
  13. Excellent conclusion and one I agree with. Look no further than the Oakland game. It was classic Bills. We have them on the ropes and they start coming back. The defense starts to falter, the offense can't make a play and then it's curtains. Neither group stood up and changed the game.
  14. Would it? We've all seen how Brock Osweiler has been an unsung hero in Houston because of how his defense has played.
  15. I like all 3 but I'm a sucker for Winston's intangibles for whatever reason. I think he's the guy I see leading the heroic 2 min drive to win the Superbowl. You know Whaley's laughable explanation about how he's drawn to EJ and his presence? That's sort of how I feel about WInston. He's a natural leader in a way Mariota and Carr aren't. He's magnetic. Still love Carr and like Mariota. I'd rank them Winston, Carr, Mariota. He was right on track until a Bill ruptured his kidney in 2015. We may be responsible for the next 10 years of boring MNF matchups. If we can't enjoy the NFL, no one can.
  16. It takes time. I think we're all subject to a little recency bias. Brady and Peyton were both in the league for 5-6 years and had met in the playoffs and won rings before their rivalry was truly established. Contrast that with a guy like Luck, who has still "only" been in the NFL 5 seasons and Cam 6. Now, neither of those guys have replaced the rivalry, but they are the oldest of the new young QB's. Once the old guard is truly "gone" we will see 4-5 years of Luck versus Carr, Winston and Cam, Luck versus Mariota and it will grow organically. That and Peyton versus Brady was the best QB rivalry in 20-30 years. Hard to top that, no matter who it is.
  17. Fair enough. I apologize Hokie, I feel like I see the defense brought up a lot in these topics as if it isn't universal that they weren't good and Rex Ryan sucked. But I don't think that fact supports TT at all. His flaws are his flaws, with the 20th D or the 1st. Okay? Again, not what I said.
  18. Did you read what I said or? I don't think posting any stats on the defense does anything for Tyrod's analysis? Did you forget what topic you were in? Are you excluding TT from your analysis entirely? Why is your post in the Tyrod topic instead of a topic about the defense? Not even close, but an unsurprising leap from you.
  19. Appreciate the analysis but I don't know any posters who thought the defense wasn't an issue. Even the handful of "Rex guys" thought the defense sucked, just for different reasons. Blaming the defense for TT's deficiencies is like blaming TT for the defense letting up 34 points. Inane on both sides.
  20. Oh sorry. Didn't realize we needed 5 All-Pros in order to not blame the OL.
