Hmm, and here I thought the brilliant minds behind the Whaley extension and Rex Ryan experiment hired McD and Beane.

If you're going to trade your best WR for a second round pick, why sign a #4 WR when he's going to cost you a third rounder? It makes no sense. McD was calling the shots then and now. If Beane was looking ahead to that pick, Ducasse, Davis and Holmes would already be gone.

Seeing as every Bills FO hired in the last decade has been fired in disgrace for sucking, I'd say C. and sleep soundly. Signing Vlad Ducassee and losing a third round comp pick isn't "thinking ahead." They are making egregious errors early and often.

I'd say probably not. I can't imagine a scenario where we need an extra second rounder to make a deal. It's not like we can't trade next year's or the year after's picks. Right now, if we targeted a guy and wanted to move to pick #1, we could trade 3 firsts, 2 seconds, 3 thirds at least. You think someone say "no way," then we throw in another second and they go, "oh yeah absolutely!" I don't.

And if the choice was franchise QB versus Sammy, I'd agree. But it wasn't.

His point was they got the elite WR first, then got their QB.

I think everyone is arguing that this is probably not the case in both respects. I don't see how Sammy's hypothetical contract doesn't allow us to sign Cousins. I don't see how having 3 1sts, 2 seconds, and 3 3rds in the next two years would need another second to trade up to get a QB.

Heads are rolling. I hope McBeane pick some good ones next season. The Bills now only have two first round players pre 2016 on the roster. Two. TWO. Not good.

3 catches on 3 targets for 80 yards ain't half bad. Neither is 4 catches on 6 targets for 54 yards and a TD.

This is why you aren't taken seriously. He played some and had some good games. Sammy and Jordan Matthews had the same number of games over 80 yards receiving last year. Sammy's best game was 7 rec on 10 targets for 154 yards and 1 TD. Matthews best game was 7 rec on 14 targets for 114 yards and 1 TD.

Didn't Sammy get arrested for pot? I'm sure there was a team or two who thought that a red flag. I think KtD is being a little over the top.

Talent-consensus? Yes. He was the surefire #1 pick.
