If you move Shaq, you have to find another DE. If we get a 4th round pick, we may get a player better than Shaq but we may get a player much much worse. His contract isn't so bad right now. The first round pick cost is sunk. Hang on to him and hope he wakes up a different player.

Who do you really think we need to add though? Give a player comp. Deonte is in the speed role. KB is our big body #1. Zay can be in the slot and the boundary. Holmes as a #4 filling in for KB. Don't forget we still have Clay and O'Leary to work in. What round do you think we need to look for WR? 3 and 4 maybe? We have varying degrees of good and solid WR's but no one great. McD isn't gonna turn around and spend a high pick on a WR after trading Sammy, and I don't think FA is going to warrant the kind of player you're looking for. Looking over the list of UFA's, no one jumps at me.

I do agree with that. However, they may have thought, "We want to move Watkins, but we may not, so I don't want to overpay Woods and be stuck with both." And then they got a Watkins offer that they wanted to jump at. Hindsight would be 20-20.

Well yes and no. Woods left before Beane. I'd like to think if we got a Sammy offer when the offseason started, we would've kept Woods.

Brissett didn't even have an offseason with the Colts. He was traded and started in an entirely new offensive system. Boyst is losing it.

Sammy, KB, Matthews and Zay/Holmes would've been even better. But you can't invest in 2 really good WR's when Almost all of our old WR's who "weren't good enough" are thriving around the league.

KB and Zay are young with room for improvement. OL is getting old. Wood hit a wall 3 years ago. Richie is fast approaching. Right side is more of a disaster than normal. Dawkins is stuck at LT because of Glenn's injuries. OL needs an infusion of talent in the worst way. Hope we sign a starting quality OG or RT in FA and draft a C.

I didn't compare Matthews to Watkins. I asked why Matthews was productive in 2016 and unproductive in 2017?

It's weird. Jordan Matthews was better before he became a Bills WR. Marquise Goodwin was better after he left the Bills. Robert Woods was better after he left the Bills. Chris Hogan was better after he left the Bills. Kelvin Benjamin was better before he became a Bills WR. Anyone know if that has to do with the QB's these guys were playing with on different teams? Is there a common thread anyone can see here? Bueller? Bueller?
