  1. if Dalton didn't complete that single pass, we would not reevaluate. So no, it's just one game. As I said, 3 years of tape > 1 game.
  2. Wrong. The Bills can still do Hard Knocks. They just can't be forced to do so.
  3. Well, it's better than when he was calling Bob Woods trash until Bob Woods starting playing well. All takes matter.
  4. I'm sure 80% of Bills fans were already tuned into to the Ravens game at that point.
  5. Denny adjusted mid way through the year. We've had coaches who don't adjust for 2 years.
  6. The string of bad luck that kept the Bills out has ended. That's the first step to getting that ring.
  7. I guess we'll find out. I'm thinking if he's a detriment, McD won't hesitate to downgrade his role. Luckily, Murphy looked pretty good in a limited role tonight. Our coaches already downgraded Shady enough at what looked like 100% all year. He was being taken off the field a play or too early, IMO, in a lot of games this year.
  8. We can blame Adolphus and whoever the other dude is. Kyle's doing his job.
  9. Well maybe, maybe not. If he's 90%, but not Shady, the Jags aren't going to be betting on that, at least not early. Get him a couple carries, motion him out, do unique things to use his rep to stress that Jags D. Even at 90%, I like Shady's chances versus Telvin (I think he's not hurt, right?) in the open field. The Jags will still have to respect him. But those 3 yard passes to the flat where he makes two guys miss for an extra couple won't happen. Rico is going to have to make some magic.
  10. Good post Virgil, as always. To your point about the pass rush. Especially tonight, Hughes was not the problem, at least not entirely. Not to kick Kyle, but our problem with the pass rush has been the interior almost all season. Our DT's simply do not penetrate or even push back their matchups on longer drop backs. Hughes has 3 or 4 pressures by my estimation, but every single time, Fales was able to step up into the pocket and sometimes escape past the LT. Hughes is a speed rusher, and he leaves that lane open, unless the DT on his side cuts it off. Without interior pressure, you'll continue to see those near-sacks like we did tonight. A DT who can penetrate or drive the OL back is a major need on this team. Possibly the biggest need. With our secondary, that would turn our above average unit into a really good unit. But we got picks for days because of the #process. So let's go.
  11. Against the Jags D, he may not have been able to be Shady either. Agreed though. His style does not mesh well with nagging injuries like that. Doubt it's high. The concern was a break, which would tend to be lower.
  12. McD, similar to Marrone, knew what his team could do and couldn't do. He knew they could sit on a lead with the best of them. It's not the most exciting style of football, but I'm not confusing effort for results. All of TBD should rejoice that I can no longer refer to Marrone as the "best coach we've had in a decade." McD took an average D and below average O and killed the drought, while playing some REALLY tough team. Falcons, Saints, Panthers, Pats, Chiefs all are in the playoffs. Wowzer. FWIW Kelly, I agree. He zags when I expect him to zig sometimes. But I imagine he'll get a better feel for situations. Some coaches get more aggressive in the right spots with confidence. Can you !@#$ing believe it thought?
  13. There's disagreeing with a conservative approach, versus disagreeing with the wrong approach. McD has a lot of the former. Less of the latter.
  14. He was good enough for the playoffs this year. Great for him.
  15. Once upon a time, it was too early to say that ODB was better than Sammy. And they were MUCH closer than Zay and JuJu.
  16. If I was our GM on draft day, I would've taken Watson and JuJu with our first two picks. OBD needs to call me.
