Mortgage your future is the same chicken little melodrama. The only certainty in the NFL is that you’ll always get more picks. If the Bills had sacked Brady one or two more times last game, we might have won. Let alone Donald’s game goes far beyond sacks. He’s disruptive in the run and pass game almost every play, not just when he gets home. I don’t disagree that there are reasonable arguments to be made against acquiring Donald (if he was available even though honestly he probably isn’t). I just think we could easily afford him, and we probably won’t get a better player with pick #22 or #26 or #32. Elevating your defense from really good to incredible with a QB who makes plays in the clutch can be a title winning formula. The history of the NFL proves this. Besides, how many times in the dark years did the Bills really trade their middle of the pack first round picks? Some of those guys were good and some weren’t but it’s not like any of them changed the future of the franchise. We have some good cornerstones in White, Allen, Oliver, Edmunds. It’s certainly possible our next pick is also a star. It’s also possible he’s a Shaq. Or a Spiller. Or a Maybin.

Spring the trap? You didn’t even try to fill in my chart. Please let me know what games in 2015 the Broncos would have won without their offensive contributions. You can’t jump to the “next most logical step” without doing your part! In the meantime, I’m gonna alert the NFL that their record keeping is wrong. Josh Allen contributed 2 TD’s in the Pats game and Tom Brady only contributed 1! Our QB scored more points and number of touchdowns than their QB did. That means we must have actually won the game (carried by our offense of course.) -

Wait wait wait! Can we play this fun game with the 2015 Broncos? I’ll start: Looks like the defense didn’t carry the team after all that year. -

Incredible. You proved that you need to score points to win games in the NFL. Any team that scores even a FG on offense is clearly being carried by them. Here’s a fun stat: The 2015 Broncos averaged more PPG on offense than the 2019 Bills. And the 2019 Bills averaged less PPG allowed on defense than the 2015 Broncos. Wasnt that your team that DEFINED a defense carrying the offense? -
Do you know what else is impossible to prove? That a rookie would have helped. Do you know what is possible to prove? That Khalil Mack improved that defense TREMENDOUSLY. Their defense was 6th in points this year from 1st. Hardly “stunk.”. That regression is easily explainable by the offensive nosedive. Khalil Mack has at least 3-4 years left, probably more. You know who else is 29? John Brown, how many more years does he have? Are we playing the game where anyone almost 30 in the NFL not on the Bills is about to retire, but the ones on the Bills are Gucci? So basically, if you trade a first round pick and don’t win a Super Bowl, it’s a failure. Can we extend that to second round picks? What about FA signings? Maybe the Bills shouldn’t pay Yangonkue $90M, if we don’t win the Super Bowl next year, it’s a failure!

Incredibly, you point to the QB TD totals instead of points scored by our offense, in a debate about POINTS SCORED BY OUR OFFENSE. It’s just sooo intellectually lazy and obvious. Heres another stat for you. Our offensive units field position ranking is 7th in the NFL. Who decides offensive field position? The defense and special teams mostly, no? Incredibly, the offense (including Josh), squander that to the tune of 25th in yards and 24th in points per drive, and 20th in time per drive. Meanwhile, the defense is 11th in field position, but is SECOND in points per drive. And 11th in time per drive. The defense quite literally gets the offense the ball in great spots, doesn’t allow terribly long drives and doesn’t allow lots of points. And the offense is STILL bad. Your opinion regarding this matter is clearly flawed. You’re using some weird pseudo definition to defend a point that clearly falls on its face with even a cursory examination of the facts. -
Just to address this. Their offensive core essentially stayed the same between 2018 and 2019. They got rid of Jordan Howard and acquired David Montgomery. Their offense went from 9th in points to 30th. I don’t know what rookie WR you thought was singlehandedly stopping that level of regression, but I can’t think of one. And sure. A first round pick this year would be nice. You know what is nicer? Khalil Mack. Do I think there is going to be a player at pick #18 more impactful than Khalil Mack. NOPE.

There is simply no good reason to move on from Trubisky at this point. He’s playing poorly, but I believe it costs them cap space to cut or trade him. Cam would be intriguing. I wonder if they could get him for something reasonable. If they could trade for him, his cap hit would be $19M, which is really not that much. Uh, they have Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery. They don’t need another running back, and a first round pick at that. Nagy needs to coach better and Mitch needs to get better. Nagy’s RPOs and trap plays got figured out and he couldn’t adjust. Mitch got worse with some tape on him in this offense. Pretty much it.

I mean, how much do the Bears really need? They have $10M in space next year, and if they cut Prince Amakumara, they free up another $9M. They don’t have a first rounder rookie eating into that space either. Really, the Bears are in fine shape. They need Mitch to get better or get another QB in that room. They can easily draft one in the second, like a Justin Herbert or Eason, sign a Fitzpatrick or a Bridgewater to compete, and EASILY compete in the NFC North next year. They are gonna finish likely 8-8 or 7-9 after making the playoffs because their QB regressed and their offense got figured out a little bit. They aren’t 3-13 this year.

Oh dear god. Your point this whole time is this team doesn’t win games with their defense because the defense doesn’t score TD’s?? Even though the offense is like 23rd in points and the defense is 2nd in points allowed? Was that the case in 2014 too? Mario as a DPOY candidate and those other boys had a top 4 defense, but because they didn’t score (on defense) a lot, it was really Kyle Orton who was the Bills MVP? Is there a Josh Allen gas leak in here? -

So it’s a big IF and you still wouldn’t trade him for Deshaun Watson or Patrick Mahomes or Russell Wilson? Do you gamble? -
I thought it was clearly tongue in cheek, but maybe it doesn’t translate. Also: Feel like that’s an adequate enough explanation that you can drop the fact I mistakenly wrote 14 even though the entire conversation prior I referenced the first half and that’s obviously what I meant. I even said that after the fact when you corrected me last night. Seems a little petty on your end.

Milano was stride for stride with White in coverage on a wheel route in Pats#1 and make a great defensive play to break up the pass. Slow is a really bad take.

Prior the the last drive (of the first half). Wrote it at least 3 times prior. Brain farted when I said 14 minutes instead of 29. You’re wrong (again). NBA Jamz voice: HE’S ON FIRE I also never said Josh was horrific. I said he played horrific prior to that last drive, which was awesome and excellent. As I said above, it’s okay to admit both. You won’t burst into flames.
