When Was Doug Whaley Really Fired in 2017?
buffalostu2 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe that was Buddy Nix's desperation parting move trying to leave the organization on the rise. I don't think you can pin that on Doug especially when he has been heard saying that his biggest mistake was not going out and getting a franchise QB. -
If yo don't think Kraft will swing by his place with a brief case of cash to keep him in the fold (off the cap, just like Brady) you are crazy. He will be on the field at least one more year

Eagles Use Fake Walk Through Before SB
buffalostu2 replied to pimp on da' net's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Belichek knew that the Seahawks pass play was going to be called. Wilson wasn't even supposed to force it in. He was supposed to throw it away if it was not wide open. What Belichek and the Patriots players knew is that a pass interference call meant nothing so his guys were coached to be overly physical and it resulted in a turnover because Wilson forced it in. Let's not get carried away saying he knows what play the other team is going to run. -
Groy will fill in perfectly at center

I think it was drafting for scheme, not need, wasn't it? -
Bills still making Bad Contract decisions
buffalostu2 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
looks like the contract was done in late August so probably nothing there. If it were week 7 we might have an issue. -
Bills still making Bad Contract decisions
buffalostu2 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't that what we are talking about? The team not scratching their head wondering why the player wants a new contract 6 weeks into the season? I think it will evolve that Wood and his agent may have fleeced Beane and Co. If they indeed did not do a proper physical that stinks -

Maybe Wood knew. He just said he has stingers mid season and then he gets re upped. Seems pretty timely. Also look at the structure of the contract. 4.8 per year with a 4.33 mil bonus. Are we sure Wood and his agent didn't know something? Beane may have been taken to the cleaners. -

We used to be. Now we are looked at as table breaking idiots who have never won before and don't know how -
Donald Jones to exit 'John Murphy Show'
buffalostu2 replied to ricojes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My vote is for Chris Brown. I want somebody who will put in the work. I didn't like Jones. He came off as a paycheck player with zero toughness - Murph used to mock him for it all the time. It was a terrible an uninspiring message. -
I thought there was information out there that McD's wife and Tolbert's are best friends and their families are very close. How is that lost by those who call it a head scratcher.

At Last, a GM Who Values Comp Picks
buffalostu2 replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I value draft picks as much as everyone else however the talent on our team is in our coach, not our rookie GM who has yet to prove anything. McD won in spite of Beane's roster moves IMO. I don't think you scale back McD's roster to get one extra pick for an unproven GM. -
Bills 2018 cap space projection
buffalostu2 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you wait until June 1st you have to pay him the 6 mil bonus second day of the league year Because he is a terrible guard and good center. Did you see any of the preseason the last two years with him at guard? -
44 games with Tyrod at QB - % breakdown

Everyone is ready to move on from their QB if you have something better. But we don't -

Yes passing yards and rushing yards are not mutually exclusive. Same with passing TDs and Rushing TDs. -
Tre White - no apology from Gronk
buffalostu2 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before the game is the best way to get the full media coverage as well so the Pats can get credit for doing the right thing - which is garbage. White should tell him he can talk to him after the game, not before for media purposes. -
This regime is supposed to be process oriented. Changing variables (WRs) in your process disrupts the expected results. If they didn't know the instability on offense they would create then the should stop using the word process.

This is the same as giving credit for McD having the guts to start Peterman but not making him responsible for the result. Only delusional Bills fans can take self inflicted problems and give credit for overcoming them. All they needed to do was play defense with the current roster and this team was capable of winning 10 games. Expectations deteriorated because of the moves they made. How do you give credit for that?

How do we pull the impossible and beat the Pats?
buffalostu2 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously what about controlling the clock? Belicheat's game plan doing the same to the '90 Bills is in the hall of fame. Why not snap the ball at the last possible second according to the play clock to give them less time to operate? If we try to trade rhythm up tempo possessions with them we are going to get murdered, we always do. Fewer possessions gives them less times to figure out our D and less time to score. Keeping the score low worked for the 90's Giants so why would we not take that chance? -
Again the need for 300 yards Passing/game
buffalostu2 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You might as well push for the top ranked defense in yards instead of points while you are at it. Points is all that matters. The assumption that you are making is that more passing yards will lead to more points and more winning. Why? Show me 100% correlation and why 300 yds is the number. Isn't it the same as playing nickel and dime all game against good throwing QBs? Teams are going to do whatever they can to take away what you do best. -
It's hubris or just plain inexperience for them to think that they can hand pick every single guy on the roster and not have to coach players that were here, even if they weren't "you're guys". On average coaches get 3 to 3.5 years and GMs get 4 to prove they deserve the job, no matter what contract they sign. You can't completely tear down a roster and build it from scratch and expect the talent to mature and succeed in that time frame. These guys should know that no matter how green they are. Outside of safety and one corner spot I don't see any real committed building blocks on this roster and agree almost every position is in need of an overhaul this offseason. Hopefully things become clearer down the stretch.

Our GM/Head Coach Combination
buffalostu2 replied to The Now Moment's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The comparison made was to SF when the QB was replaced. Your facts are all screwed up. Throughout the early season, Kaepernick was used as a wildcat quarterback. In Week 10 against the St. Louis Rams, Kaepernick replaced starter Alex Smith, who had suffered a concussion in the first half. So your example is what? -
ESPN: Tom Brady’s Most Dangerous Game
buffalostu2 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless they test for HGH and other illegal supplements I am not sure hitting him will work outside of the current game. I remember last year or the year before when the Texans destroyed Brady all game and he was back practicing two days later at 38/39 years old. My eye brows raised right there especially with his shady trainer who once offered a "greens" pill that supposedly could cure cancer. This guy is going to play as long as legal/illegal supplements and the league allow him to. Just my opinion but he and his trainer have provided the foundation for doubt. -
He makes 12 million so "it makes sense to move on from him" Why? Are we supposed to get top notch play for under market value because we are cheapskates from Buffalo? How has that worked out over the last 60 years? He is a solid tackle whose contract actually declines year over year going forward. Why thin out a position of strength by trading your best player at the position. You trade your worst.
