  1. I’m fine with letting the clock run during commercials.
  2. My kitchen and family room TV’s are only a few feet apart, and they don’t even synch. I’m usually a play or two ahead of my son 5 miles away, who I think uses my login. 🤷‍♂️
  3. This seems to be an appropriate place to mention why I hate the Dolphins more than the Jets, or even The Cheats*. I remember as a kid sitting by the fireplace in the basement trying to warm up while watching the Bills play in Miami. It’s mid to late afternoon, and it’s already dark outside at my house. I’m by the fire because I had been outside and needed to thaw out a bit on a cold winter day. I look at the TV to see a group of Dolphin “fans” prancing around in their shorts, tee shirts and flip flops. They didn’t really even seem to be that into the football. That seemed unjust to this young boy. We lived in Florida for almost 20 years and it always amazed me with how many WNY transplants there were. Of all my friends growing up, only one that I know of lives in WNY, and he had moved away for decades before returning. My wife works with a lady who lives in LA. She told my wife she grew up in WNY and one of her top priorities was living somewhere with nice weather year round even if it meant some sacrifices. Hats off to the local folks who endure, or even enjoy, the full weather experience of WNY. I love it there, but I’d be hard pressed to enjoy all 12 months without some relief. I hope the fans who traveled to this game get a nice vacation, and a happy flight home!!!
  4. We heard reports like that in London. And then all the people who live around London showed up! The Jag’s second home. Duh. I’m sorry, the bitterness remains to some extent. I love the city, it’s an NFL thing for me.
  5. That’s what it felt like, but It’s still OK to try to catch the ball. 🤷‍♂️
  6. The last time I was in South Beach I literally had to point at the menu at a couple different places. I was the only one there who spoke any English.
  7. If we could start a fund to get everyone to pitch in for my stay home expenses, that would be a decent start. 😂
  8. I have applied to the Fitzy School of Black Magic to see if there might be an on-line or in-person course I can take to correct this. I prefer in person learning, but I have a slight fear I might get lost in his beard or chest hair and never be seen again.
  9. OK, here is mine: I will not be attending. They have a miserable win rate when I am present in the last couple of decades.
  10. OK, all this complicated stuff is why I stay away from gambling. 😂 I saw The Sting as a kid! I trust nothing! Great movie, btw. But golfers are the worst about gambling! If you tell them up front you plan to cheat on every hole, that seems to tame their eagerness, and get you some funny looks. It’s fun to mess with guys some time. But I’m not above an occasional foot wedge. This is where airport bars come in, especially major airports. There is zero judgement of people sitting at an airport bar at any time of the day or night. Those darn delayed layovers! 😂
  11. One of the reasons I check in here daily is to see if she got away with it. 🤷‍♂️
  12. Yes, somebody is missing something.
  13. He does not like this answer, apparently. 🤷‍♂️
  14. It was just a scrimmage at Amherst.
  15. I graduated from St Joe’s in ‘77, but lived out in Williamsville and East Amherst. That will take you 3 hours a day on the bus until you get a car. UGH!
  16. Were they government employees, perhaps? 😋
  17. My wife went to a sorority reunion at the beach a couple years ago. Her best friend shows up and says “OK, how’s everybody doing? I mean REALLY doing, not the FaceBook version. I’ll go first - I’ve got one in rehab, one in jail and the third one is a doctor. Go figure.”
  18. One of the first lessons I learned after college was one of the most important. I lived in a resort community with a lot of conspicuous consumption. I looked up to all the beautiful people who “had it made” in life. One guy in particular was a partner in the big law firm in town, lived in a house that I admired every time I passed by with Mercedes and Jags in the driveway and married one of the most beautiful ladies I’ve ever seen in my life. My view of the world changed when the wife comes to the bank where I’m working to beg that we hold off on foreclosure. She is sobbing and offering the jewelry she is wearing if we can just wait another 30 days. I started paying closer attention, and started to see a pattern. So many of the people who I thought were killing it were in over their heads with maxed out credit cards and past due BMW payments. Not everybody, but far more than you would think. What I took out of all this is it’s a mistake to compare yourself to how anyone else is doing for several reasons. The first and most obvious reason is that you really have no idea how they are actually doing. You don’t know what keeps them awake at night, but we’ve all got something, be it big or small. Don’t trust the FaceBook version of their life, there is more beneath the surface, and it’s not always pretty.
  19. Our credit card machine is down, so it will be cash only for parking fees and cover charge. FYI Oh, and it’s BYOB! 🍺
  20. St Joes, and it wasn’t a Thiesman type injury 🤮. It was just a scrimmage, and I limped for the rest of the year. I had no idea it was broken but I limped into the office of Dr Joyce, the Braves Doc who operated on the foot of my other leg. He said I had the wrong limp, sent me down for X-rays, and I got to tell my English teacher/trainer that the reason taping it higher didn’t work was….. I HAVE A BROKEN LEG! Who is the weenie now? OK, I feel better. Thank you for saving me the cost of therapy.
  21. Drink more milk? Is this Phase II of the Chick-Fil-A cow campaign to promote their protection?
  22. I broke that in a high school scrimmage against Amherst. Nobody really cared this much. 🤷‍♂️
  23. I don’t know what will happen Sunday, but I’ve been at “road games” where there were clearly more Bills fans than home fans. It’s a pretty cool feeling. We travel well, and have the “advantage” of having people move from WNY to places all over the country. Heck! Go to a tailgate at a game in OP and look at how many people came from more than a couple hours away. It’s a LOT!
  24. Why can we not focus? I was talking about an NFL sanctioned injustice, and some people want to bring up the rest of the season. London screwed the Bills out of a home game. Period.
