I’m a big Xavier fan and about to turn on the Big East Tournament from MSG. I just can’t enjoy it the way I used to because of the constant turnover. I used to follow high school recruiting, then watch players develop over 3-4 years. With all the portal activity and NIL it’s like a new team getting picked at the YMCA every year. Who are these guys? I don’t begrudge the players freedom or compensation, I just don’t like the resulting product as much. 🤷‍♂️ . Okay now, let’s not forget about that pesky restraining order again!

Yeah, it’s funny how some of our “fans” think we are the only team that screws up. It happens all across the league. You just have to get it right more than most. Why do I feel bad laughing at that??? 😂

Never have been tested for Whooping Cough. I’ve had Covid multiple times but only tested positive once. My wife kept testing negative and I kept telling her she had it. Eventually she did test positive, but it took several days. I don’t put a lot of faith in the tests, but if I feel sick I stay away from people. Fortunately, I’m retired so I don’t have to be around people when I’m not feeling great. That is rough! I have a buddy who got throat cancer and lost his sense of taste due to radiation. He had a terrible time for years because he couln’t force enough calories into his body to keep him going. Best wishes for you and the wife going forward. I still have this lingering cough that hits me pretty much every morning. I don’t know how many months it’s been. I’ve got a lingering something, as does my wife. It’s really strange! You’d think we are 3 pack a day smokers!

I think I read we saved about $2.7 Mil on the cap, which is pretty much what we get out of this, I guess. Better than nothing. I hate blowing a 1st rounder as much as anyone, but it happens across the league.

Probably, but everybody has a worst. He’s not alone, but I’d love to have known what the scouting on him looked like. Who was the lead scout, what did he think, and what is he doing today. We all make mistakes, but….

Yeah, Hamlin may be small and slow for the job, but he’s fairly mistakes free other than taking bad angles because he’s not as fast as he seems to thinks he is. I sure hope they can coach Forrest up in coverage. We need help back there.

I got Covid before it was even officially here. On 12/19/19 we drove for 8 hours down to Florida with a young lady who coughed the whole time. She had just returned from NYC. By Christmas Day I was so sick the wife put me in the back seat and drove 8 hours back to Atlanta. I coughed into February.

March 11 was the day the NBA cancelled games, and that seemed to touch home with a lot of people. Somehow things turned “real” in a hurry. I’ll never forget going to the grocery store after that. You had to follow people to their car to get a cart, and there was nothing on the shelves but the stuff nobody would ever buy on purpose. It was surreal and the panic was palpable. That day was one of a kind in my life. Months later I mentioned that crazy day to one of the regular cashiers at the grocery store. I remember she checked me out that day. When I brought it up her eyes glazed over like she was reliving the trauma. She asked “you were there that day?” Yes, I was and I’ll never forget it, either. EDIT: That tells you how crazy that day was. Months later I actually remembered who checked me out that day and I remembered the fear in her eyes. That panic was unlike anything else I can think of. The closest I can think of was the 2006 real estate collapse followed by the 2008 bank collapse. Nobody had any idea what was next. You could buy CitiBank at .50 cents a share. (I chickened out, of course.) We wondered if the world as we knew it was going to end. Crazy times.

At least he’s in New Jersey.

We did give up the Toronto games. We have to appease “them” in some way. 😊 So, they are asking for my trust. I’ll wait and see, as always.

I can’t even imagine the meltdown here if we pay him what his true value is, and then he goes all Tua on us. A QB can try to hide, a CB not so much. Hopefully it was a fluke thing, but I have to consider it before pulling up the Brinks truck. His long-term health comes first.
