He's pretty good yes. But it's pretty rare for a top program to tell one of its recruits "maybe football would be for you"----after 6 games. Izzo would never do this if he had any use for Coleman at all.
So, are you calling Tom Izzo a bad person? Maybe, just maybe, he did the right thing and helped him find his most promising path. That doesn’t mean he couldn’t have been a contributor in time at MSU.

Might sound hokey, but for me, especially being a kid and teen, listening to the radio was quite captivating and it felt a bit magical trying to visualize the game in my mind. I didn’t feel cheated or denied some sort of privilege.
I was in 4th or 5th grade and had strep throat so I couldn’t go to the home preseason game against the Eagles. I remember listening about giant Harold Carmichael tearing us up in a meaningless game. I remember that more clearly than most of the games from that era I actually attended. I guess it was “different” so it stands out in my mind, and your brain must process it a bit differently. 🤷♂️

Well, Izzo never played him-he obviously felt he was more likely to excel at football than at basketball, hence the kind advice. If he was that good, he would never have made him choose. Why on earth would he? plenty of NFL guys played a lot of D1 basketball. It's easy to conclude that Coleman's game was not as good as any of those guys.
Tom Izzo recruited him to one of the top basketball programs in the country and gave him a scholarship. Let’s not pretend he’s not very skilled in basketball. Yes, his ceiling is higher in football, but he’s still a pretty damn good basketball player.

Can we slip that into the Chief’s Gatorade in the playoffs? Or would that be too obvious now?

Which Games Should You Consider Selling Back?
Not every game on the schedule is equal in appeal or convenience. Here are some thoughts on which games may be worth holding onto, and which ones you might consider exchanging:
- Pittsburgh, Sunday, September 7 at 1 p.m.: The season opener always brings energy and strong attendance. Unless you absolutely cannot make it, this is one to hold onto.
- Buffalo, Sunday, September 14 at 1 p.m.: A divisional game with a rowdy crowd, but early in the season and right after the opener. If travel or back-to-back weekends are tough, this is a solid candidate for selling on the secondary market. You might be able to get more than face value.
- Dallas, Sunday, October 5: Cowboys fans travel well, and resale value will likely be high. If you aren’t going, this is another good secondary market game.
- Carolina, Sunday, October 19: Middle of the season, possibly lower stakes, and fewer traveling fans. This could be an ideal game to swap if your schedule gets crowded.
- Cleveland, Atlanta, Miami, New England: These late-season games could be meaningful if the Jets are in the playoff hunt, or challenging if weather and travel become an issue. If you are heading out of town for the holidays, exchanging one of these games might make sense.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Essentially telling fans they should just sell their seats on the secondary market to opposing fans for these games.
😂
I don’t want the Jets telling me what’s a good idea and what is not. Might I suggest they work out an actual contract extension before trading for someone who then decides he doesn’t want to play for you?

They called to invite my son to play All Stars one year when he was young. They offered him 2nd base and lead off hitter. I told them I would ask. My son’s response was “Do I have to? Half the guys are standing around, and the other half are sitting.” From the mouths of babes. He went on to play sports with a bit more action.
I will say it can make some nice background noise. Even my baseball loving college buddy agrees that the pitch clock has helped move things along. He was All State in high school, and he felt it was too slow moving.

I just realized she could hypothetically be about my wife’s age. My wife looks great, and better than ever to me…..but she doesn’t have LA Docs for every little wrinkle.

It was my fear . Big guys and Back issues and NFL football are a concerning venture
And sometimes feet, but that’s more in the NBA. They lost a lot of big guys to chronic foot injuries.

I think there was natural growth and learning as well, but yeah, I thought it was the back that just wouldn’t let him go. Back pain can be terrible stuff!

I’m going with 765 yards and 7 TD’s.

So, woodworking, not food. I’m usually all over the food stuff.
We have friends who have a daughter really into the food part in a big way with amazing presentations. She taught my wife some stuff, then they gave her this super cool board. It’s got shelves that pull out and expose your various knives, etc. I didn’t know it could get that elaborate!
Good luck!

That seems like an awful lot.
He’s probably shopping with all the other Bills fans! We didn’t pay that much more for our seats for the (last ever) opener about the 35 yard line 40 rows up on the aisle. I’m sure we could have waited and gotten them cheaper but my wife saw them and she knows how I prefer being on or close to the aisle, so she pulled the trigger.
But to each their own. I know I’ve gone ahead and bought tickets early just to know I have everything nailed down in advance. It’s a peace of mind thing.

Yes, because a win in week one the following season is just as good as getting kicked out of the playoffs.
Rex felt the only thing better than that was winning the offseason press conference.
I guess it’s fitting that he’s on TV instead of coaching football.

Well, I’m sixty four, a Type I diabetic, and I just had open heart surgery! That said, your question requires a better framing of my answer. I have four kids, three kid-in-laws, seven grandkids, dozens of cousins and double dozens of friends. For me, it’s this one season. When you’re a patriarch (or old guy), the coming season is THE season. I make a trip to Miami and bring six people to hotels and buy their tickets. I get a year of memories from it. We talk about the last trip for six months and the next trip for six months. Again, no fancy rich guy, but the trip’s $6 thousand, and it’s a regular season game. So, yes, I’d rather the Bills win this year than have someone give me $12 thousand.
That time with your family is priceless.

If you include playoffs,
Josh hit his 50th start in week 3 of his 4th year.
Tua hit his 50th start in week 16 of his 4th year.
The gap isn't as wide as it would seem because Josh didn't start the first game of his rookie year and missed 4 games due to injury that season. So, his rookie year brings his average down.
Josh has started 94.8% of the games in his career. In the last 6 years (subtracting his rookie season), he has started 99% of his games (only 1 game missed). Josh is averaging 15.7 starts per season for his career*. He has averaged 16.5 games per season over the last 6 years**. (not counting playoffs obviously)
Tua has started 73.8% of the games in his career. Missing 21 games over the last 5 years. Tua is averaging 12.4 starts per season.
[*Note: Josh played three 16-game seasons, before the NFL went to 17 games. Tua only played in one 16-game season, before it shifted.]
[Two of the last six years for Josh were only 16-game seasons, with four 17-game seasons.]
Thanks!
Some kind of a chart or graph would be helpful.

Anyone who thinks there is any reasonable comparison in ability or effectiveness between Allen and Tua is either a complete idiot or a totally deranged Dolphins fan.
Those categories are not mutually exclusive.

Last 50 Regular Season Starts (true perspective):
Total Yards Total TDs Total Turnovers Completion % GWD Record Playoffs
Josh 14,144 127 49 64.5 10 37-13 7-6
Tua 13,162 84 46 68.6 7 32-18 0-1
Josh's 50 games started week 1 of the 2022 season. Over that span (51 games), Josh has missed 1 regular season game and no playoff games (13 PO games total).
Tua's 50 games started in week 8 of the 2021 season. Over that span (61 games), Tua has missed 11 regular season games and 2 of 3 playoff games.
People can match up stats all they want, but 43 more touchdowns over that span equates to 301 more points, or 6 points per game. Plus Josh had almost 1,000 yards more total yards over that span, and as Augie pointed out...was always available. Not being available in the playoffs is huge. And in Tua's 1 playoff appearance, he went 20 of 39 (51.3 comp.%) for 210 total yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Josh has averaged per game in the playoffs: 310 total yards, a 65.7 comp%, 2.5 TDs, 0.30 INTs.
That X poster is trying hard to prove that Tua is as good as Josh. But I wonder if he would actually trade them head-up, player-for-player, if he were the GM of the Bills (somehow I doubt it).
Another interesting category might be number of games missed, regular season and playoffs to get there. That would be striking. I’m not Tom Sawyer asking you to paint my fence, but just trying to make a point.
I could add a poll here, will he or won’t he?
It’s crazy what you can do with numbers and stats.

Vikings vs Steelers in Dublin - Any UK/Irish TBDers going & where to watch the Bills game after?

I certainly wouldn’t. I’m on record as not loving the international games, but I’d have been there if the Bills played the Steelers in Dublin. That would be a lovely silver lining!
