If you include playoffs,
Josh hit his 50th start in week 3 of his 4th year.
Tua hit his 50th start in week 16 of his 4th year.
The gap isn't as wide as it would seem because Josh didn't start the first game of his rookie year and missed 4 games due to injury that season. So, his rookie year brings his average down.
Josh has started 94.8% of the games in his career. In the last 6 years (subtracting his rookie season), he has started 99% of his games (only 1 game missed). Josh is averaging 15.7 starts per season for his career*. He has averaged 16.5 games per season over the last 6 years**. (not counting playoffs obviously)
Tua has started 73.8% of the games in his career. Missing 21 games over the last 5 years. Tua is averaging 12.4 starts per season.
[*Note: Josh played three 16-game seasons, before the NFL went to 17 games. Tua only played in one 16-game season, before it shifted.]
[Two of the last six years for Josh were only 16-game seasons, with four 17-game seasons.]
Thanks!
Some kind of a chart or graph would be helpful.

Anyone who thinks there is any reasonable comparison in ability or effectiveness between Allen and Tua is either a complete idiot or a totally deranged Dolphins fan.
Those categories are not mutually exclusive.

Last 50 Regular Season Starts (true perspective):
Total Yards Total TDs Total Turnovers Completion % GWD Record Playoffs
Josh 14,144 127 49 64.5 10 37-13 7-6
Tua 13,162 84 46 68.6 7 32-18 0-1
Josh's 50 games started week 1 of the 2022 season. Over that span (51 games), Josh has missed 1 regular season game and no playoff games (13 PO games total).
Tua's 50 games started in week 8 of the 2021 season. Over that span (61 games), Tua has missed 11 regular season games and 2 of 3 playoff games.
People can match up stats all they want, but 43 more touchdowns over that span equates to 301 more points, or 6 points per game. Plus Josh had almost 1,000 yards more total yards over that span, and as Augie pointed out...was always available. Not being available in the playoffs is huge. And in Tua's 1 playoff appearance, he went 20 of 39 (51.3 comp.%) for 210 total yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Josh has averaged per game in the playoffs: 310 total yards, a 65.7 comp%, 2.5 TDs, 0.30 INTs.
That X poster is trying hard to prove that Tua is as good as Josh. But I wonder if he would actually trade them head-up, player-for-player, if he were the GM of the Bills (somehow I doubt it).
Another interesting category might be number of games missed, regular season and playoffs to get there. That would be striking. I’m not Tom Sawyer asking you to paint my fence, but just trying to make a point.
I could add a poll here, will he or won’t he?
It’s crazy what you can do with numbers and stats.

Thanks, that’s great stuff and, well, frankly….I’m far too lazy to do all that.

I watch a little golf, and a lot of the Masters, but that was new to me. YIKES! It’s like Joe Thiesmann just got up and walked away. Wait! Are you the real Gumby?
Side note, but I think that was the hole we sat at waiting to find my BIL. No cell phones inside, and we got our plans crossed. Never found him until we had both left for the day. Bucket list thing, it’s unimaginable how severe the terrain is. TV doesn’t capture that, but the birds are chirping, so….

It's wild when you encounter some of these guys who are meh at pro/big time college sports in the wild.
Like Keon is likely the best guy at like 95% of courts he steps on by a wide margin on ut isn't that good compared to the guys we watch on TV.
I've had a couple buddies skate with AHL players who've never put on a sweater for an NHL team and they say it's borderline disrespectful how much better they are. Lol
Golf is a great example of that. Everyone knows that guy with a two handicap who is so amazing at TopGolf. “It just sounds different!”
That guy can’t even begin to compete for the smallest tours, much less play with the big boys. I used to live on a USGA tournament course, and I’d hear people brag about how they shot an 82, so they are only a few strokes off the pros. I would inform them that the pros tee off from across that road back there.
Get a grip.

Ted Reinhart of Gamalon fame also deserves recognition. In 1973, Ted's band at the time was covering Genesis. The actual band Genesis thought it was super cool that a US band was covering their music, so they all flew to Buffalo to see the band. The band, and especially Phil Collins was super impressed with Ted. In 1977 when Phil took over lead singing duties, Phil reached out to Ted to see if he had any interest in becoming Genesis' full time touring drummer. Ted turned it down as he didn't want to spend his whole life touring. So they offered the gig to the next guy on their list, Chester Thompson.
I hope he was always good with that decision. That is the kind of choice that seriously alters your life, but it’s usually best to be true to yourself.

We need someone to punt to our returners because they will need the practice. Three downs and a punt for our opponents all year long!

What that does not tell is that Tua has Hill and Waddle....and Josh has a bunch of nobody's !!!!
It also fails to mention how many games it took to get 50 starts. For Josh I would say it was 50. For Tua? You know hat they say about the best ability….

Without Josh?? 6-7 wins tops..
We will still have A QB, it won’t be a power play. A decent replacement and we would adjust and do better than that, IMO.
As great as Josh is, and I love him like everyone else, but I feel that some people see it like it’s all on him, and he does it despite the coaching. We have a team around him, and I feel like it’s disrespectful of them and the coaching staff to get so little credit. Josh makes us GREAT, but they are pretty darned good too.

Her sense of humor, quick wit and laugh on that movie promotion video made her attractive to me. (Josh is probably safe, my wife would have none of that.
)
And I find her pretty, if not a classic beauty. Sometimes that’s better.

Interesting comment for a Happy Father’s Day thread but I felt the same way. Until I didn’t. And now I wish I hadn’t waited until 44 to have our first.
But holy ***** - the exhaustion is real, the constant anxiety is real, the loss of some hobbies is real. And it’s ALL worth it when my 17 month old came up and said “Da!!” (That’s what he calls me) and gave me a hug yesterday. Number 2 on the way, due in November. I’ll be 45 and I regularly think of how old I’ll be when they hit certain milestones - I’ll be the guy at high school graduation people assume is the grandpa. But I’ve come to grips with it.
That said, it’s 100% not for everyone. And the biggest thing I’ve taken away so far is my undying respect for single parents. Doing this alone would have likely killed me.
Great post.
I worked with a young lady and kind of watched her grow up, interning in summers (her dad was the majority stockholder), then fresh out of college, then getting married and finally expecting. We had two boys so the girl stuff was new to me. I felt very invested when she was expecting. I was also somewhat honored when she came to me to ask about what it’s like to become a parent. She stunned me at first and I just mumbled some words.
I mulled it over for a while, and I still remember walking over to her office to share my share my experience. I said the lows will be low and very difficult, but the highs are higher than I could have imagined.
To each their own, because we are not one size fits all.

A reach? A guy who plays basketball his whole life dunking isn't some high probability injury situation, the over reaction IMO is a bit of a reach. And guys have hurt their ankles rounding bases or chasing balls in softball plenty of times too. Also not a high probability for risk, but definitely not an absurd comparison either.
Point is - this wasn't that serious and nothing outside the ordinary of what professional athletes do in the offseason either. On the risk factor scale on what they could be doing, this was pretty low.
It was a charity basketball event. Other Bills were playing basketball too. Maybe the problem is that Keon is too athletic? Maybe if he played basketball without jumping so high? 🤷♂️
Life is dangerous. I don’t think it’s fair to say Keon is a space cadet and therefore he’s at greater risk playing the same game as everyone else….but better. If you play, you play. One could argue that playing at half speed is just as dangerous, and it’s something you’d never want to do in football if you care for your wellbeing.

I mean you can say that about any of the guys on the team playing the softball game every year where they can get hurt as well, or these guys just working out in the offseason, or any extra curricular activity that other guys on the team do, including Josh, over each offseason.
It was a Damar Hamlin charity event, and there were a bunch of Bills there along with others. I wonder if it would it be on brand if one of the others got hurt?

Suffering an injury while doing a bunch of windmill dunks in a charity basketball game would be right on brand for him. They were good dunks, though, I have to admit.

Crying to the mods to effectively ban someone from a thread then clearly calling that same person out in that same thread without actually naming them is some next level passive aggressive immaturity.
Umm…..huh?
How is that for an articulate response? But I truly am curious. I hope you don’t think I’m calling you out individually. I am speaking in general terms that include all people, not just one. I can honestly swear that you never entered my thoughts while posting that.
EDIT: And if someone is complaining about you, it’s NOT me. We have covered that before.

Is a little bit of nothing more, or less?
Our son was over with his wife and two girls, 2-1/2 and 7 months. The older is difficult and very introverted and she’s hard to warm up to people, so I don’t push her. When she’s ready I’ll be there. The baby is much happier and outgoing, and I was loving our time on the kitchen floor with her. My son mentioned in the basement to my wife how fun I was on the floor with the baby. She said “Oh, he loves babies, but the older one is a lot like you were.”

Stuff like this just goes to show how very little we know. We know little about dark energy and dark matter, and that’s the vast majority of the universe. It’s hard to feel “certain” about anything given our general ignorance. Yet some of us can be feel so sure. 🤷♂️

HFD! My 87 y.o. Father is coming over. A full day of hearing how tough it is for him. I mean I get it. He can only ride his bike for 7 miles. He can only walk 3 miles a day. He recently started to wake up at night to pee. He doesn’t wear glasses, hears fine and just dug out a 100 ft. hedgerow, clears and snow blows his 130 ft. driveway, cleans his 1600 sq. ft. house, it’s pretty much spotless. New car every 3 years, drives everywhere.
…..and tell him he’s fortunate? I don’t dare.
(just to add, my brother, sister and myself are definitely fortunate)
Sounds like good genes! Take good care of yourself because it sounds like you’re in this for the long haul!
