  1. Maybe that’s why they found him to be a bargain on the discount shelf? The Bengals probably shop for coaches using coupons.
  2. At the very least, multiple options may soften the market and reduce some leverage for the sellers. 🤷‍♂️
  3. I can lo longer take the NFL seriously when they try to take the high ground.
  4. You don’t play or coach in the NBA, do you?
  5. Let us not forget the age old tradition of kicking off the NFL season from Sao Paulo, Brazil! My sister lives in Wisconsin and they regularly attend basketball games at a small college most of us have never heard of. These are young people who are truly playing for the love of the sport. It may not be the best basketball you can see, but it is pure and genuine, and that matters to me. . .
  6. Hmmm, was his buddy a thief, or a friend who took the fall? It could be a slam dunk, hard cold fact that Ohtani did nothing wrong, but it does come to mind, doesn’t it? The more this happens, and it will continue (whether we see it or not), the more we will wonder and question our trust. .
  7. Pete Rose wasn’t available?
  8. These guys have already made tens of millions of dollars, if not hundreds of millions. Did they piss all that away already, or are they just so arrogant that they think they are above consequences? Either way, they have to be complete idiots. They deserve what they get, and I hope it’s a heavy price. I haven’t watched the NBA in more than a decade, and I don’t feel I’ve missed anything. The NFL is not far behind the NBA in my book.
  9. “Donde esta el bano” came in VERY handy in Spain! I made sure to know “ou sont les toilettes” before going to France!
  10. I’d be willing to pitch in for a one way flight to Qatar in the summer. That would just be me trying to get him acclimated to his future environment. I’m helpful like that.
  11. This reminds me some of a period I went thru where eating was very difficult. Several years ago we took my mother, who was already in her 90’s at the time, to lunch. She fell, broke her pelvis in 2 places and it was the beginning of the end for independent living. In and out of hospitals and rehab and eventually landed in full time skilled nursing care. I was 6’1” and about 190 lbs at the time of her fall. Food just didn’t have any appeal for me for a while. I watched her struggle in so many ways that it got to me over time. She often thought I was my long-deceased father. Over the course of a year or so my weight dropped as low as 175 lbs while I visited her daily in the hospital, rehab or the nursing home. It got so bad my wife went behind my back and asked one of my sisters to come visit. She took one look at me and said “you look like S***!” She called my other sister who was traveling and only few states away, so she came too. The effect this had on me was immediately obvious to her as well. My point is, this stuff takes a toll on everyone, not just “the patient”. I hope @YoloinOhio and the other loved ones are taking good care of themselves. Don’t forget that, as unnatural as it may seem. It’s important to step back and do some self-evaluation to be sure the care givers and support team are taking care of themselves, too. It can sneak up on you, but please be sure you are being good to and for you as well as your precious daughter. .
  12. They should have* let the whole thing die, but of course there is money involved. That’s all we need to know. The NLF Pro Bowl was reminding me of the NBA All Celebrity/No- Defense Bowl, or whatever they call it. *Not “of”, am I the only one who gets funny about that?
  13. May I suggest a rousing chorus at the next Happy Hour you attend? Karaoke would be way too easy.
  14. Even crazier, my wife needed a pencil sharpener. Just the little plastic thing maybe an inch or two long you hold in your fingers that weighs about as much as a paper clip. She ordered a couple at noon on a Sunday, and they arrived that day (SUNDAY) before dinner. What took them so long??? If we go out to shop, it’s often just to find the general idea of what you want. Take a pic of the label, then go home and order the size, style and color that you want. A retail store cannot have unlimited inventory, but the magic of the internet is almost endless. .
  15. Watching you try might be a helluva Pay Per View event!
  16. I suppose it’s too soon to work on being eliminated from next year’s playoffs. What do we do now?
  17. ….yet cared less. I bet I got ya there. While we’re at it, passion for college basketball is a thing of the past for me. Empty times, but I’m looking for new stuff.
  18. I have never wanted the Bills to win the Super Bowl more.
  19. Awesome! I like traditions! Sign me up! Well, I guess some traditions….
  20. I was a big Sabres fan when I left WNY for college in 1977. They were good and fun to watch then, so that was pretty easy. It was almost impossible to keep up with an out of town NHL team in those days. A lot has changed since then, and I’m thinking of coming back. It will fun to be there on the ground floor as we build toward a championship team! That shouldn’t take more than a few weeks, right?
  21. FAR better than any other halftime show, and often better than the game. And you don’t need any special subscriptions or trips overseas.
  22. I watched a game in Jacksonville from the concourse on a tiny monitor over the concession stand instead of bake in the heat. We were the last people in our row of ridiculously expensive seats to give up and seek shelter. It was dangerously hot.
