  1. I saw a bit of that, and I actually enjoyed it. I used to take our boys to Chapel Hill for hoops camp each summer and became attached to the school and the town. I was surprised to enjoy it, but then I had no expectation of knowing the players from either team. Sadly, I don’t think I could name a single player from my team (Xavier). I don’t begrudge the players getting paid or having mobility, but the resulting product is not something I really care for. Gone are the days of being proud that you graduated all your players whose eligibility expired. Now you just want to know who’s on the team, and I’m mildly curious if the SG makes more than the PF. It’s like a new pickup game at the YMCA with the best players going to the highest bidders. It doesn’t bother me in college football, so maybe college basketball in general will still appeal to me. I did enjoy the UNC game. But I will no longer send my school any money if that’s how it’s being used. If we all think alike and that means the program dies, oh well….. 🤷‍♂️ EDIT: I stopped making an annual trip to Cincinnati to see Xavier play when Covid hit, and the way things have changed since then I’ll only catch a game if I happen to be in town already, which is fairly unlikely. .
  2. ….or point. That works pretty good with menus, but it can get you in trouble with people. That’s your public safety announcement for the day.
  3. I don’t think Bill smoked a lot of meats.
  4. I’ve mentioned this before, but we found ourselves drinking at a hotel bar with Sven after a fundraising event in Nashville. What a great guy, and it turned into a late night. Somehow, he ended up giving me a baggie of his special spice rub for grilling. It looked like a drug deal going down in the lobby to more than one person. 🤣
  5. Yikes! Anything near that level is shocking. It’s a wonder he got as far as he did for as long as he did.
  6. ….and probably not just the normal kind, since the baseline for teenagers in general is pretty high. As usual, it’s not this or that, it’s this and that. He is where is for all kinds of reasons all acting together.
  7. Ahh, the Braves! We split season tix for the Braves with another family. Half the home games is plenty. Bob Kauffman lived right behind us and he’d play with us at the community hoop and my sister would babysit for them. Those were great times.
  8. But not only a raincoat. Remember how creepy that got last time? I used to play tennis midday in Florida all year round. Courts are always available at that time…for a reason. It’s one thing to be moving about, even if you are exerting yourself. You’re sweating buckets, getting shade at changeovers and you can put on dry clothes. It is a special kind of misery to just sit still in the stands at an NFL game and cook in the sun with stagnant air all around you. By November I’d consider a day game in Florida, but I’d be hoping for a cloudy day. I hope it’s not a factor this weekend.
  9. It’s funny, I’ll switch over to Prime for something I’m somewhat committed to, but I won’t bother to make the clicks needed to take a peek at this.
  10. I swear it’s just a couple hours ago that my buddy from across the street when we were kids was texting me with pics of both of our old houses. He went back and took his grown son and a couple friends to the Chiefs game last week. It was a bonding event for them, and that’s very cool. We were just texting how great it was to grow up where we did, when we did. I feel I was very fortunate.
  11. You can love him or hate him, but Colin Cowherd talks about how his wife used to cover Buffalo as part of her region in whatever job she had. He says she insists the people of WNY are the nicest anywhere. I don’t disagree.
  12. I try to do one home game and one road game a year. I have yet to see anything that rivals a Bills game live in Orchard Park. I’ve not been to every venue, but I know we hold up very well against anyone. When my boys turned 16 I took them from Florida to The Ralph as a rite of passage. I would not have done that in Cincinnati or most NFL cities. That tells you something. Also, the title made me wonder about those Indian burial grounds, so I’ll just go ahead and mention that I hope that was only on that side of Abbot Rd. Like, we’re good (enough) now, right? I hope we can win them over for the effort! .
  13. It was a legal block at the time and the call was wrong, as was Booger. I’m almost positive the league apologized for that. Very little comfort in that, you know?
  14. I’m going to give Romo credit for calling out the refs on more than one call against the Bills. He wasn’t afraid not say “I just didn’t see a penalty there.” He later came out and said the Chiefs got the short end of the stick on one play, but I like a guy who’s willing to call it as he sees it. Booger McFarland has never recovered in my eyes for insisting it was an illegal blindside block against Cody Ford in the playoffs. The same play the league later apologized for. Booger is a moron.
  15. I heard different numbers, so I looked and found this: AI Overview Game 7 of the 2025 World Series averaged 51 million viewers combined across the U.S., Canada, and Japan, making it the most-watched MLB game in 34 years. The U.S. alone saw an average of 27.3 million viewers on Fox, with viewership peaking at 31.5 million. Japan contributed 12 million viewers to the total, while Canada added 11.6 million viewers across its French and English broadcasts. The NFL is a monster when it comes to ratings.
  16. The 30.8 million viewers of a regular season football game outdrew Game 7 of the World Series, and that doesn’t surprise me at all.
  17. This takes a tragic situation and makes it even more sad. RIP and may his loved ones find peace. .
  18. Yes, the league has failed to correct that travesty. Just one more reason to be losing interest in the NFL. I’m not an NFL fan the way I used to be.
  19. Well, that puts you ahead of a lot of people!
  20. And that is perfectly fair and makes sense. You never know what you might learn if you don’t ask.
  21. Clearly, it’s just a little too soon. 🤷‍♂️ Switch to shots if necessary. Then, someone needs to video when you find out the ugly chick is a guy. 😂
  22. I 100% want you both to be correct. It would be entertaining to see the meltdown if the Colts came out of nowhere to win a Super Bowl, however. I think somebody should bet $5k that they win it all, without mentioning it to the wife. It could take some of the sting out of not winning it….again.
  23. Yes, that would be the guy. That was a fun little story I enjoyed thoroughly.
  24. He’s about 15 lbs bigger than Worthy. Just sayin’.
  25. That’s the only reason I’m here, I had to see what the “hear me out” was all about. I’d say it went about as expected.
