Buffalo is a Sacred Place to Play a Football Game
Augie replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can love him or hate him, but Colin Cowherd talks about how his wife used to cover Buffalo as part of her region in whatever job she had. He says she insists the people of WNY are the nicest anywhere. I don’t disagree. -
Buffalo is a Sacred Place to Play a Football Game

I try to do one home game and one road game a year. I have yet to see anything that rivals a Bills game live in Orchard Park. I’ve not been to every venue, but I know we hold up very well against anyone. When my boys turned 16 I took them from Florida to The Ralph as a rite of passage. I would not have done that in Cincinnati or most NFL cities. That tells you something. Also, the title made me wonder about those Indian burial grounds, so I’ll just go ahead and mention that I hope that was only on that side of Abbot Rd. Like, we’re good (enough) now, right? I hope we can win them over for the effort! . -
It was a legal block at the time and the call was wrong, as was Booger. I’m almost positive the league apologized for that. Very little comfort in that, you know?

I’m going to give Romo credit for calling out the refs on more than one call against the Bills. He wasn’t afraid not say “I just didn’t see a penalty there.” He later came out and said the Chiefs got the short end of the stick on one play, but I like a guy who’s willing to call it as he sees it. Booger McFarland has never recovered in my eyes for insisting it was an illegal blindside block against Cody Ford in the playoffs. The same play the league later apologized for. Booger is a moron.

I heard different numbers, so I looked and found this: AI Overview Game 7 of the 2025 World Series averaged 51 million viewers combined across the U.S., Canada, and Japan, making it the most-watched MLB game in 34 years. The U.S. alone saw an average of 27.3 million viewers on Fox, with viewership peaking at 31.5 million. Japan contributed 12 million viewers to the total, while Canada added 11.6 million viewers across its French and English broadcasts. The NFL is a monster when it comes to ratings.

The 30.8 million viewers of a regular season football game outdrew Game 7 of the World Series, and that doesn’t surprise me at all.

This takes a tragic situation and makes it even more sad. RIP and may his loved ones find peace. . -
Yes, the league has failed to correct that travesty. Just one more reason to be losing interest in the NFL. I’m not an NFL fan the way I used to be.
-
Well, that puts you ahead of a lot of people!
-
And that is perfectly fair and makes sense. You never know what you might learn if you don’t ask.
-
Clearly, it’s just a little too soon. 🤷♂️ Switch to shots if necessary. Then, someone needs to video when you find out the ugly chick is a guy. 😂
-
I 100% want you both to be correct. It would be entertaining to see the meltdown if the Colts came out of nowhere to win a Super Bowl, however. I think somebody should bet $5k that they win it all, without mentioning it to the wife. It could take some of the sting out of not winning it….again.

Yes, that would be the guy. That was a fun little story I enjoyed thoroughly.

He’s about 15 lbs bigger than Worthy. Just sayin’.

That’s the only reason I’m here, I had to see what the “hear me out” was all about. I’d say it went about as expected.

Sauce Gardner to the Colts for 2 1st round picks (and AD Mitchell)
Augie replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, good for you. I don’t like stupid risks, and I try not to invest emotionally. You’ve got to be in it to win it. Would you like to be a Bengals fan right now? Are they still basking in the warmth of that lightning-in-a-bottle SB appearance a few years ago? (They lost, remember?) I have a buddy with season tix to the Bengals and he’s having a hard time unloading his seats. That’s not my personal preference, but to each their own. -

“All-Inclusive” does not come cheap. -

As to the bold, there are no guarantees. You can go all in to get your Super Bowl, come up short with no ring, then return to the drought era as well. Are you OK with that? -
Maybe you should back up and read the thread. I’m not here to summarize things for you, but statistics were given upthread. Don’t pay too much attention to the idiots in the media, especially if it’s on ESPN.

It’s true, we don’t win every game. I have no problems with the way this game ended. Something could have gone wrong with each scenario. As has been pointed out repeatedly, the odds of a win were very similar regardless of the path chosen. If you want to insist he took the wrong path, I’ll keep reminding you we won this game. The pooch punt could have been blocked or returned for a TD. Nothing is perfect in life. I’m not so emotionally stuck on something that happened 5 years ago that I can’t evaluate what we just witnessed this weekend. Nobody is perfect, but I’m willing to give credit where it is due.

But he has some rings, and some few people are infatuated with that. Guess what, if McD had a ring or two, they would still be complaining just the same, but they’d lose that handy arguing point they enjoy so much. That is as obvious as the sun coming up each morning.

In this week's acid influenced Bills social media post...
Augie replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
They probably had to get that cleared by the people who thought the white out costumes were a good idea. -
Guess what……WE WON!!! 😂
-
Look at the bold at the end. Anyone who speaks in absolutes like that is someone to be ignored, at least most of the time. This is definitely one of those times. What if they return that punt for a TD? What would you say in that case? Never mind, I don’t care.

….and a lock to be criticized for it.
