Andre Cisco Highlight Reel_Case to be signed as Free Safety
Augie replied to MikePJ76's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Hamlin is a nice guy and a great story, but he’s small and slow and I think they know we need better coverage back there. Time will tell! -
I wish there was an easy way to track people’s opinions here. If you are pro-trade, you should not be allowed to complain if/when he gets hurt. Know that there is an element of chance here, and it could result in a SB, but he could also end up like Von…..a big swing that ended up on IR. Some people here will be for the signing now but will be critical of the Bills if it goes sideways. You can’t have it both ways. For the record, I’d love Garrett if the price is close to reasonable.

I think Rapp and Bishop are both more in the box safeties and we need a guy to play center field back there. Let Rapp and Bishop battle it out for SS and keep the other for depth. We KNOW we will need quality depth (cap be damned), a lesson learned too many times the hard way. Then find someone with the ability to fly around in coverage a bit better. Is this the guy? I have absolutely no idea. -
It is unconscionable that the NFL allows some of these crappy fields. Von said Tottenham was the worst field he had ever played on. I wish the NFLPA would step in and insist on better fields for player safety. Goodell is only afraid of losing big lawsuits, NOT player safety. You know how I know that? We just keep hearing about the terrible condition of some of these fields, yet the players are forced to play on them.

I’m generally a pepperoni guy, but I will add different toppings based upon which joint I’m at. They each have their own go-to stuff for me. One place is pepperoni and very thinly sliced Roma tomatoes. Another has the perfectly blended fennel sausage with the spice level just right. Another place has an owner from Grand Island and they have thinly sliced red onions that have a beautiful sweetness to them when cooked. Toppings vary, like all pepperoni is not the same. The big flat ones and the little cup and char ones may as well be two different things. There are very few things I will not eat on a pizza. My son used to piss me off (intentionally, I believe) by getting everything available on a pizza. He’d get a Hawaiian pizza and add BBQ chicken, jalapeños and anything else they had to load it up with, all at once. That was some disgusting stuff!

I’ll get to pizza later, but I don’t think anyone with poop on their desk and pee stains on their mattress should be calling anyone else a filthy animal. 😊

If this was a poll option, I think it would be the runaway winner. I can’t be for or against something without knowing the cost. I don’t care if you are buying a car, or a house, or a great DE, there is no way on earth I can make a decision without knowing the cost. Yes or no is a question nobody should be able to answer without more knowledge. That’s just an emotional response to frustration, and I don’t like to make decisions that way. .

Well, free agency comes before the draft, so I guess that would mean waiting one more year. I’m good with waiting one more year and letting him be hurt somewhere else. At least with Von it was an unpredictable ACL injury. That can happen, and you can’t see it coming. When Bosa next gets hurt there will be cries of I TOLD YOU SO coming from all directions!

I was at the ‘78 concert as well. It was before my sophomore year in college in Cincinnati. Somehow a guy from my freshman year who lived in Decatur, GA (if he had said a few miles east of Atlanta we would have had an idea where that was) joined us for that one. I’m not sure how that came to be, especially since he was a one and done at college. I never saw him again after the concert very far from his home. I was at that one too, but I have to admit you are much better with the details than I am! 😊

I can’t really ignore the part about what the cost is. I mean, that’s kind of a big deal in my mind. I’m all for adding the best talent possible, but there are practical considerations to keep in mind.

We were about the 50 yard line and center of the field for the Stones. I was with 3-4 buddies and there was a guy who was alone next to us on the field with a hefty bag full of weed. He rolled joints for hours. He would roll it, hand it to someone to light and then he would take the second hit, and pass it into the crowd. That guy alone burned over a pound of weed that night.

One summer I was working construction in South Carolina, and it was almost comical! We were putting up an apartment complex and the boss was named Ace. He was rarely there, but he’d be there in his Bronco on Fridays to pay everyone. His Bronco had a perfect space between the front seats to hold some cooler that would hold his Budweiser tall boys as he went four wheeling over the large piles of excavated earth. He seemed to enjoy that as a Friday morning (drunken) ritual. After he took a few laps around the site he would call us into the Bronco one at a time for pay day. This was supposedly a HUD project, but Ace paid in cash. There was a bag of cash between his feet, and a great big gun in his lap. The gun was pointed toward the passenger seat. It was clear for even the most ignorant fool there that it was a bad idea to mess with Crazy Ace. As the only summer college kid there I was teamed with the only Black guy there, a guy named Peter. He was from the low country and spoke Gullah. We were basically unable to communicate with words. For some reason Peter was the only guy to bring his own tools every day. There was a trailer where you could get anything you needed, but Peter was either not welcome to share things from the trailer, or comfortable even broaching the topic. I found it to be eye opening and very disturbing. There was some crazy heat wave and it was over 100 degrees every day for 3 straight weeks. BRUTAL! Guys were passing out on second floor roofs and falling. Peter was one of the casualties, falling and breaking his arm. I never saw him again, but I did hear that there was no insurance or workman’s comp, so I have to wonder what Ace ever did with him. I will say, a summer of construction in blistering weather was enough to make me want to finish school and get a job with air conditioning. .

I think the 3rd overall pick for an ancient QB to play for a team who can’t sniff the playoffs right now would get some people fired. Deservedly so.

Maybe we should trade Josh for Stafford and a 6th rounder as a stand up thing to do for our Hollywood bound superstar so he can make his fiancé happy. We do want them to be happy, right? OK, maybe not.

I don’t love really expensive guys who get hurt a lot. Can we bubble wrap him until the playoffs? Is he a wise investment/gamble? I’m all for getting difference makers, but we need to be wise. I didn’t hate the move to sign Von, but that was the risk we took. Things might be very different around here had he not torn up his knee again. I’m not sweating it since I have no control over it, but I sure am excited to see what our offseason looks like. We just need a couple guys to bust thru and start taking over games with a play here and a play there, just when you need it. That could also be someone who is already on our roster, like maybe a Solomon kind of guy. I’m not sure why I’m so intrigued by him. 🤷♂️

They mentioned the traffic in that piece. That was more than my father had bargained for. We were about 10 people away from the gate when the crowd started to roar before the inaugural kickoff…….. only to fall silent as Herb Mulkey returned it for a TD. I was disappointed before I ever even got inside! Beating the Raiders on Monday night (thank you, Ahmad Rashad) is another experience that stands out, but one of my most eye opening experiences at The Ralph was seeing The Rolling Stones about 1975/76? It was the very first concert of my life. What a way to get started! I was a high school kid, and they had bedsheets hanging from the upper bowl with menus of what kind of things they were marketing. I thought I had stepped thru the looking glass. .

The moon is our friend. I would miss howling at it when it’s full. And the implications of screwing with it I’m sure are enormous!

I guess a priest with that message is going to be correct sometimes, but to make that the theme of the day just sounds like a bitter old man with a pulpit. .
-
The priest at my sister’s wedding had his sermon about I don’t know why we even bother. Seriously depressing with him telling us everyone ends up divorced, anyway. He said this during the service from the altar. It was his theme. Thank you, Fr Timlin for that inspiring message. They’ve been married about 50 years now, and I’m sure it wasn’t just to spite him. He’s so lonely, that was the first selfie!

I bet he’s a Maytag repairman!

We should have some kind of decathlon at the Combine. Make them change a tire, make a call on a rotary phone, fold a map and stuff like that! I think that would be more fun than the Pro Bowl crap! 😊 Damn, you beat me to it!

It’s not like a date to a middle school dance and your girl didn’t show up. There is no chance he just fails to show up some day and we are left wondering why. He certainly could. How realistic do you think that possibility is? Can you put a number on it? I’d say it’s less than 5% thru his prime. I can’t spend too much time worrying about that or the possibility that the asteroid with a 2.6% chance of hitting the earth is ever going to ruin my day.
