  1. I hate when you’re sitting too low and they get in the way. It can be hard to see sometimes if you aren’t up a good bit. Yes, apparently physics matters.
  2. As he said, it’s razor thin. It could be as simple as Benford getting knocked out of the game so early. We all watched the draft. The last few years we seem to be out of bodies on defense by the time the playoffs come around. Hopefully we have addressed that adequately.
  3. I’m just checking in on this thread because I saw Delete_Delete_Delete was here, and I got my hopes up! I think this thread would benefit from some of that. .
  4. Happy and safe 4th everyone. This brings back a memory….. On July 3 a few years ago I’m at the park playing tennis with a bunch of regular guys and the jets from Dobbins Air Force Base start practicing their 4th of July exhibition right over the park. And they stayed over the park and kept coming back like it was a private showing. We’re all WTF? This feels like it’s just for us! One guy is a retired Admiral and he starts chuckling. One of his pilot buddies is in charge and he talked him into a private showing for our “park people”. He said “this guy just flies big ass planes for Delta now, he loves doing this sh!t!” ✈️
  5. What you think comes with zero credibility at this point. It’s not like the facts were buried in some deep, dark hole somewhere. Pretty much everyone here knew when basics of what allegedly happened, but very few skipped over that and went to personal attacks on someone you’ve never even set eyes on. To be fair to all sides, do we really know the bold to be true? He knew who else she had been with, and advised her to get checked. I can see a scenario where he as just trying to be helpful there, but I don’t pretend to know the facts.
  6. She DID report it to authorities at the time, but they didn’t see enough evidence to support criminal charges at that point. Beane DID know about it, they looked into it deeply and decided that the allegations were unfounded and it was safe to proceed. If you are not aware of these points, maybe you should be spending more time reading, and less time posting.
  7. Come forward to disagree. Relax. I wanted to be fair, so I asked for my wife’s opinion, just to be sure I didn’t misunderstand. She had two C-Sections, mind you. I asked what she thought of a father taking 3 months off after the birth of a child, and she responded “I think it’s Bull^%$*! How much time do you need to sit around and watch your wife breast feed?” Help is needed initially, but only for so long. My son was entitled to 6 months off after the birth of his 2 1/2 year old and his 7 month old. He took 3 weeks and felt it was perfectly adequate, despite feeling a bit guilty about being away so long. He’s very serious about his career as well as his family, and we appreciate that. My wife said “we raised him right.” NOBODY is more family oriented than my wife, and she says it speaks to work ethic. She says especially if you are in sales (her field) if you take 3 months off you just don’t have the proper DNA for your job. What kind of job you have makes a difference here to some degree, imo. I’ve been deliberately misled (a/k/a lied to) regarding maternity situations, but I suppose anywhere you have a loophole in anything, people will take advantage of it. Life experiences can alter our opinions. I wish you nothing but the best for you and your family, and it’s great that we can have different points of view. .
  8. I knew at least one would come forward, and that’s fine. Yes, there are people who milk it. I am all in on being a supportive father, but I’ve seen guys taking golf trips while the MIL came to town for a couple weeks to help. I think 6-8 weeks is excessive. My wife had two C-sections, and she agrees with me. That’s just my opinion, and you are free to disagree. Happy 4th of July to everyone!
  9. Did you tell your wife about your bet?
  10. Hell, I started in the Rockpile but I was with my Dad and the family. I was spoiled by Jack Kemp, but this Josh guy is growing on me. The quality of QB play will be WAY down the list of things they remember from their early days. I took each of my kids up from FL when they turned 16. We all cherish those memories and they cemented some life long Bills fans! I’m excited for you.
  11. Congrats, sir!
  12. The post you quoted here starts with “they wait”. Anytime I hear “they” used like that it feels cringeworthy. Who is they, and who decided what buckets we would have? And who decides who goes in each bucket?
  13. Is it too soon to order those little headphones for baby ears for The Parade? That should be on the baby shower gift list!
  14. I knew a very successful guy who hated to take the mandatory 2 weeks off at the bank every year. (It’s required for security reasons.) He hated taking ANY day off! He was afraid that if he was out of the office they would learn that they could get by without him. My son recently had his second child and he took time off (3 weeks) but he kept it brief compared to others. When they have to make that tough call on shaving staff, it may not be right but on some level things probably lean to the guy who showed up and got the work done over the guy who milked things because he could for 2-3 (or even 6) months while everybody covered for him. .
  15. I don’t know why there seems to be an urge to be on one side or the other. How about….we sit in the middle until we know more? How is that for a novel approach? I’ve never met either of these people. I’ll wait and see what comes out. And for the record, I think what we learn will probably still be more gray than black and white.
  16. Congrats on the new addition. This changes EVERYTHING in your life. I wonder if he will take a 6-8 week paternity leave like the “kids” do these days? I kid, but my son went back to work about a month sooner than another dad with similar timing. Maybe that came in with gender reveal parties and I didn’t notice? 🤷‍♂️
  17. I’m going with alien abduction, but for whatever reason you were rejected and they just threw you back into our pool. 🤷‍♂️ EDIT: No need to worry, we are far less picky here at TBD. .
  18. Here’s a great idea…..do not try to think for me. It just drags out your tiresome act. Sure, time is of the essence and we are very close, so let’s start over. We can agree to disagree. .
  19. ….and Reid has been winning Super Bowls about every other year since…… Very good NFL head coaches do not grow on trees. See my post above about Shanahan and the people who suggest him as a replacement. I think some people magnify our own failings to a great extent, and never fully put it into perspective. Shanahan may be an “offensive genius”, but he couldn’t run the clock out as OC up 28-3 in a SB with a couple minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Why do Bills fans just ignore that? Because it didn’t happen to US? He was up 10 in the 4th quarter of a SB as HC, and lost. Some will argue that “at least he was in a SB!”, but I will counter that he was responsible for losing both times. We can be unfairly harsh to our own, sometimes.
  20. So, you’re willing to hope and pray that a coordinator will be able to make a seamless transition to HC. That is a huge change in responsibilities and skill sets, and a very significant gamble. We know McD is a very good leader of men. So, there is that.
  21. I know we have a lot of people who are still sick about 13 seconds. I get that, it was horrible and painful. BUT….Some of the same people who still can’t forgive 13 seconds have suggested Kyle Shanahan as a successor to McD. Shanahan is the guy who was up 28-3 with 2:25 left in the 3rd quarter of the Super Bowl and couldn’t/wouldn’t run the clock out as the OC. He also lost a double digit 4th quarter lead to lose a SB as a HC. I would suggest Shanahan has shown extended periods of befuddlement that was all on him, where McD was let down by assistants over a brief series of plays. How do you give Shanahan a pass and suggest hiring him while still hating on McD for his unforgivable offense? https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/kyle-shanahan-blown-lead-super-bowl-falcons-chiefs/e554be074afc01fda0f302cc .
  22. I haven’t noticed that many people riding without helmets, but I get that you’d see that more where you live. Or, maybe I just don’t notice details like that because we all just bounced around in the back end of the station wagon. It’s hard to say for sure. 🤷‍♂️
  23. Attack, or be attacked. I go for the edge rusher all day long. It’s easier to avoid a CB than a DE on every single play.
  24. Part of me thinks…..that you should not opine on legal matters.
  25. There’s a flip side to the flip side; you probably didn’t get shot! There’s always a bright side. My wife and son have tinted windows, and they are not up to anything nefarious….at least during the week. Usually. I’m the odd one whose windows are not tinted, but it’s just because I never got around to it. There’s also such a thing as “too dark” which you can get in trouble for. EDIT: I’ve lived in the south for decades, and it’s very helpful. It’s not a vanity thing as much as a practical thing to me. .
