I honestly have close to zero possibility that Davis won’t perform. My main concern is injury, which we all know happens every year to some degree. But I agree with you on the wait and see approach. No telling what the picture might look like in a few months.

When I lived in Hilton Head my boss was in Charleston. I knew the area pretty well back then. I also spent the summer there in a management training program the first year I was married, then just go home on the weekends. (That was odd after being married for only a few months, but worth the investment.) I’d consider it, but I’d still need a place to get away from summer heat. It gets much hotter than the west coast of Florida, which would be great for 6 months and a day to avoid state income tax. They would fly up (driving was 7-8 hours) and stay at the (then) Ritz across the street. I thought it was odd, but knew other people who used to come up for long weekends. Great shopping, good food and entertainment. Now? Not so much. I think a lot of big cities have suffered the same way. This is indeed sad.

I knew people from Florida who would travel to Atlanta to shop at Lennox Mall years ago! I wouldn’t drive the 20 minutes to get there now! Phipps Plaza is probably even more upscale, but it was taken over by the mobs in 2020. Looted for all they had. Atlanta is certainly not all bad, but there is a LOT of room for improvement! I like our house and our immediate area, but the greater Atlanta area is NOT near the top of my ideal retirement locations. Charleston, SC was mentioned and is very nice. I suggest renting there for a summer before making a purchase. I like summer, but it is brutally hot!

I need a very good reason to go into Midtown/Downtown. My neighborhood is full of people who used to live in Buckhead. The architect who originally designed our neighborhood (and some of the finest houses in Buckhead) recently moved in down the road and renovated a house. He was in the heart of Buckhead and while visiting recently said “everyone is trying to get out of Buckhead”. Our son and his wife rented a place from us between Midtown and Buckhead by the Beltline. They were ready to have a “family home” (expecting in October), but the drag racing and gun shots sped this process up. We were glad to sell that place when we did! It’s a terrible shame. We need leadership to clean this up. It can still be done.

Cannabis consumption on track to overtake alcohol

Go just 10 mph over in Atlanta and you just might get rear ended! 😱 I’m not a fan, but I keep my world small. -

Yeah, but those “water brakes” stop you on a dime! -
He was an uninsured driver who caused an accident. He had no assets, so the judge declared that he should work for a guy named George.

Are you really just going to leave us hanging like that? I think the Bills are the favorites for a reason, but the AFC is tough. We just need to go out and win the games. It sounds so simple! We may or may not make it to the SB, but it should be an entertaining ride. Do NOT panic during the rough patches. Peak in the playoffs! (Remember when the mere idea of playoffs seemed like a stretch?)

I love a good debunking! If we “debunk” this, can we “bunk” something else?

I believe we call that the Uber Squad now. The times, they are a changin’!

A little surprising, like Gabe Davis was coming out of Covid-summer. You knew a little bit about him, but we (I?) actually saw Davis first in the opener when we came out with 3-4 wide on the first possession. It was was a quick “WHOA! What do we have here?” Doubt we can get that lucky again so soon, but it was a pleasant surprise!

Does sweet ol’ Ms Joan pay you in special brownies? You could do the whole neighborhood! -
Thoughts about starters during the rest of preseason

The 2nd week is the new 3rd week, I think. I’m good with a couple series. It’s about as dangerous as practice, and they have to practice. Just be safe Josh, no red jersey. -
We went to a fancy steakhouse in Atlanta (Kevin Rathbun Steak for the locals) right on the very hip Beltline. The place right across the Beltline was a cool bar where people our kids age put picnic blankets out back and played corn hole while sipping fancy drinks. We wanted to check it out after dinner, but the wife and I thought there might be a bouncer to keep US OUT! We checked it out discreetly, then slipped away. As it should be. .

I’m afraid they wouldn’t let me in. 😪

….and then…. ….for the Super Bowl. OK, I don’t really care, except for the Super Bowl part! Shakir looked pretty good, I just need to see more and if he’ll work on the outside.

It’s a great and flattering problem to have! Players, coaches and FO…..we will need to keep reloading.

Albert Breer Sports Illustrated 12 minute interview with Josh

Is there anyone who doesn’t love this guy? I mean, besides Belichick and the rest of the AFC? He’s no Baker Mayfield! Although, Baker is no Deshaun Watson, so it could be worse. Poor Browns fans. It’s a fun time to be a Bills fan. It won’t be perfect, but nothing is. Soak this up!- 1 reply

Another wild weekend in Gugnyville! I must say, I’m glad I missed that party. We had a house with a bidet once. It was just there, we gave it little thought. When we went to sell, we came across a buyer who loved her bidet action and we were the only house for sale that had one. Done deal! For that reason, I am pro-bidet.

That is FIVE demerits for you, sir! This hooligan behavior must stop! OK, it was inevitable…… 🤷♂️ .

Primetime thinks he’s too good for the Hall of Fame

I didn’t see it other than the Bryant Young speech linked here. Wow! That was very moving and I became a bigger fan. As for the HOF, it’s starting to feel like we need tiers. After you are in so many years, you might get “promoted” or something. Might be stupid, but it is getting crowded with a lot of “well above average” football players. Sorry guys, some are ELITE, and some just got in during a weak class. . -
I admit to getting worked up early in my kids’ youth sports days. I remember yelling at the college age son of the guy who owned/ran the rec hoops league in town. I’m ashamed of it now, but he would let kids double dribble and travel all over the court, but he’d blow the whistle if my kid did it. Looking back, my kid knew what he was doing (thanks to his older brother and his friends) and the other kids were clueless just trying chase the ball they had no control over. My kid screwed up, picked up his dribble, knew he was trapped and tried to get away with putting it on the floor again. The whistle blew, and I went ballistic. NOT my finest moment screaming at a teenager. He knew my kid knew better, so in retrospect he did the right thing. It WAS a double standard, but the kids were at different levels. At some point I saw how ridiculous my behavior was and became the model parent. That was not the example I wanted to set. Once I changed my mindset I became embarrassed for other adults, including the 40-something year old man/dad/coach my son had to eject while a high schooler reffing rec league games. He got his 2nd T, and I’m sure he deserved it! There was an AAU hoops tournament in Miami where the ref stopped the game and would not continue until the police were in the gym. I wish the refs in this case had been able to do the same. Very sad, for everyone.

You might be right, but we all know how much Beane likes those late round picks as chips to trade up a bit to get that one guy they really like. I trust him to work a little wizardry to pick up some extra late round picks in return for guys who just won’t make our roster. Even if we are going to cut a guy, the only way you can guarantee getting him is to trade for him first.
