  1. Yep. I won’t rehash the details, but I am a firm believer that some of that behavior was in fact sexual assault. Being able to prove it in court is another issue, but the fact that dozens of women have come forward is indeed curious. Look at the big picture, and this clearly seems to be a pattern he enjoyed in some perverse way. He needs to be punished for how this has reflected on the NFL. I’m not going to continue arguing this. I’ll sleep fine tonight. Many were not even licensed masseuses, it wasn’t about the “massage” for him. It was about what got him off. .
  2. The grand jury deals with criminal charges based upon what was presented to them. It’s very different from civil charges. The NFL is concerned with the image of the league. Do you think this has been good for the league? I don’t have a guess how this turns out, but it has definitely blemished the shield. I’ll wait and see, but if he were the Bills QB I’d take a step back until something changed. I feel bad for Browns fans as I kind of relate to them. It’s hard to get behind the Browns FO with this hanging over them. A serial sexual predator as your QB is hardly a selling point for 1/32 of your league and tarnishes the entire league to some degree. There is no question, this reflects poorly on the NFL. There are rules against that. Sadly, it’s more complicated because the owners have not been held to the same standard (by themselves, basically) often enough. .
  3. And here might be your answer.
  4. Ride? I need a flight from Atlanta. I can get my own breakfast, but I prefer a private flight. Kind of @Doc to make them available. I hope they find some worthy and grateful recipients.
  5. You should have stuck to the highlights like Applebee’s or Dave & Busters!
  6. Some people are just natural winners. What an amazing life. RIP.
  7. I known a couple guys who drive for Uber/Lyft just for something to do. It’s a chance to get out and talk with people while seeing new places. It’s almost like being a mobile bartender chatting with people who have often had a few pops. A little extra money isn’t a bad thing, either. I actually think I might enjoy it, as I think it’s great on the user end. When I get back to Cincinnati (my college town) an old buddy who drives for Lyft can’t wait to pick me up and take me to cool new places where his riders have been. It’s educational! .
  8. ….and…..well……they have these tiny little necks….. …
  9. He never wore a bra, I’ll give him that. I swear I changed that to “barmaid” for that EXACT reason! Oops! I’m glad you guys never disappoint!
  10. I have never in my life run up that kind of bar tab, but I did date the barmaid in college. My glass was never empty. 🍺
  11. I mostly agree, but I’m not sure what the ratio would look like, or how different it will be. I added the one bolded word nobody can argue with. We need to be able to run effectively to close games out. It’s pretty cool that we can expect to be ahead late in a lot of games!
  12. HEY! He signed my shirt! Did you see that? Leave him alone!
  13. Weren’t there rumors that Wayne Huizenga (owner of Blockbuster Video, Waste Management, etc) got Dan Marino in on some IPO’s and other stuff as a way of raising his compensation? I have no idea if that was true, but I’m pretty sure I heard it. In the current cap environment I’m sure the league would find a way to crush that today.
  14. If he was the Super Bowl MVP and Al Davis were still alive, he’d be offered enough to take the sting out of not winning the Mega-Millions. I’d be all for it once he’s healthy and if we can make cap space. I think he came out looking like the grown up from the Cleveland situation. .
  15. It’s like sacks or home runs, it’s what gets you the big bucks because people focus on and measure it, but it doesn’t mean you’re a well rounded player. Sometimes you need to just “do your job” to win the game.
  16. Those ears get me every time! A head like that cannot be contained in a helmet, I’m afraid.
  17. Well, now they can get out of Illinois? Or buy about half of it? 🤷‍♂️
  18. After closing the bar in college about 2:30am we went to all all-night diner. We are in the condition you might expect. When it’s time to pay, of the 4 others guys only one paid. Three out of five do NOT pay the check. We are backing the car out of the spot when the waitress comes out and blocks the exit. The ONLY exit. It turns out the other guy who paid got nervous and paid way too much. She came out to give it back. And then some drunk guy drove me home. Ahh, the “good ol’ days”! There’s a thread for you! 😂
  19. I find it hard to argue he’s not top 10 most desirable, especially considering his age and trajectory. If we had top 10 players across the board and Josh, I like our chances.
  20. That works some with skunk spray, but the Jets are in another league all together. Worth a shot I guess. Nothing to lose but some tomato juice!
  21. We learned early on to couch the news in a certain way, like “everything turned out fine, but you’re not going to believe what your son did at school today”. It heads off that sinking feeling of terror in your gut. “It’s ok, alright, tell me the rest”. But that doesn’t get as many clicks, I guess.
  22. They DID get paid……about $1,200 on any given day. I could have had any number of qualified people at that rate. I don’t see why I should pay some guy $250 above what I already paid him, just to do what he did over the course of a few hours. I thought the tip alone should have covered what he did!
  23. Exactly. There are a LOT of factors, and taxes is just one of them. Bills players don’t have Rodeo Drive or Pacific sunsets, but they seem to appreciates thousands of fans showing up to meet a flight coming in during winter after midnight. There is a very long list of factors players have to measure. First and foremost is money (especially guaranteed money), but then there are a lot of other things to consider. Different players will weight these other factors (weather, taxes, culture, fanbase, chance to win, scheme fit, etc) differently, as they should. I’m not saying WNY isn’t as good as LA. I’m saying WNY has a lot of great stuff to offer and they usually love it after they get a taste. .
  24. How do the taxes compare to the California teams? Unless you’ve paid California taxes, it’s probably not “personal” like it probably is for many in WNY. I think coaching, team talent (we have this guy named Josh players seem to like), scheme, positional depth/competition and of course the almighty dollar come in well behind taxes. The Rams don’t seem to struggle to attract players. Having said that, it IS a factor. .
  25. My nephew’s wife was a bartender at a high end place in Manhattan forever. Expensive drinks! Even she says a dollar is plenty for opening a beer for you. That’s less than 15% in many cases, but she asks “how much is that really worth?” Fair question, and I like her attitude. I usually start a tab and then aim for 20% at the end. Everybody was making plenty of money. In fact, she had discretion to give away up to like $500/shift. Family basically drank free, and everybody was cool with that. NOW, to talk about tipping being out of control - forget semi-fast food joints. Our ELECTRICIAN has the tipping options show up when he comes to the house. (We moved recently, and he practically lived with us for a couple weeks. The first couple times I actually went for it out of habit. I was an idiot! If you hand me a bill for $1,200 worth of electrical work, I think you’ve been paid already, but I admit the first few times I hit 15% or 20%. For an electrician! What’s next???
