What are the Jills up to?

My parents had a regular (I believe almost weekly?) dinner at Chef’s. That was their place, despite not being close by. (I’m in Atlanta now, so NOTHING in Buffalo is too hard to get to.) They may have taken me once as a young kid, because I have a vague memory of spaghetti and meatballs. But as I got old enough to be left alone they would do just that. They would go alone on date nights or with friends. Regardless, they loved the place! If I could avoid the hassle of travel I think my 94 year old mom would chose that as her one place to go for a great and nostalgic meal out. I can’t speak to the greatness of the food or atmosphere, but that was their go to spot.

Yeah………but other than that……

Media? Sounds like most of high school to me! 😋

….and you get what you pay for? I ate some lousy pizza in college, I can tell you that!

It’s a basketball term for how short people who can’t jump try to score when they get near the basket. It is often thwarted by giant, athletic players who send that $%^& back in their face, reminding them that this is no longer the Hoosiers era.

His contract is unbearable for GB next year without some adjusting, I believe. He has all kinds of control. If he doesn’t want to adjust, they are screwed. But then, even if they ship him off, it appears they are still screwed. Hurts to whiff on a QB, and it sounds like they did.

I would watch it as a kid on the Canadian channel growing up. It was strangely captivating! And I didn’t even drink beer when I was eight. Well, not much….. 😋

Makes more sense than the Pro Bowl. It’s like exhibition MMA. You either do it for real, or you find another option. MMA turned into a slap fest would be a disgrace, much like the Pro Bowl.

Please don’t get me wrong. Improvement is needed. I don’t have all the answers, but it should be better. Unfortunately, it’s not going to happen as quickly as we would like to see. That’s just how it works. I have to wonder, since college seems to lead the NFL in some strange ways, are they seeing any more progress there? I don’t follow college ball enough to have any idea, but it does make me curious.

I hired (and fired) countless people over a couple decades. There were times where I knew who was available, and I knew who I wanted. I would interview others and go through the process, but I still wanted who I wanted. There is nothing wrong with that. I’m sure Daboll was close to a done deal when they were interviewing for the GM position. It was a package deal in some respects. Going through the process does not mean it was racist.

And the Glazers have learned to stay mostly out of the way, it seems.

They exist outside of shopping malls? I had no idea! They are right next to the people who will keep giving me little pieces of chicken on a toothpick no matter how many laps I take getting a full meal out of free samples! Better than Costco!

Like hurricanes, the media makes it look like everybody was affected, and nobody survived. They look for that one trailer, in that one trailer park, that had a tree on top of it. THAT is what they show people.

There was a Pontillo’s in Sarasota, FL for many years. It was the best in town but then closed. THEN, a Casa di Pizza opened, and IT was the best thing in town. Pizza shops from WNY are the best option in my old part of Florida. I wish they had a good WNY option in ATL. We had a Ted’s knock-off, but it died. The pizza places are not as good. The best kept going down to Florida. We had a Duff’s franchise in Newnan about 40 miles away I’d go to a couple times a year. That closed early in Covid. It was really good, and a real loss. The Anchor Bar franchise about 20 minutes away is garbage…..and now I’m HUNGRY!

In Florida they call it the Baker Act. Are you familiar with that, perchance? On the bright side, you get free room and board for a while. I’m sure the doctors are very nice, but the gowns might be drafty. Cheer up! With therapy there is hope for you! 😋

In his defense, he washed his white sweater with his red socks. OK, I’ll come clean. I had an unfortunate underwear incident when we were first married and poor. No lap dance was involved.

I don’t know much about Baalke, but I don’t blame Leftwich. I’d want the right situation that would allow me to thrive. The right situation starts at the top with the owner. Wait for a better situation and visit London in the offseason if you want.

IF he’s not in Green Bay, he will almost certainly be in the AFC. The Packers are not stupid. Maybe the best option is Denver so he can beat the Chiefs and Raiders once or twice a year. Let them cannibalize themselves, and let the playoffs run through Orchard Park. Take advantage of home playoff games like the Pats* did for so many years.

Funny, Prime goes up a bit to get me Thursday Night Football, but AT&T U-Verse drops the NFL Network and my cost didn’t go DOWN just a little bit. I’m sensing a pattern. It’s OK, eventually when they go TOO far I’ll vote with my feet. Hope that doesn’t happen.

Even so, Sammy Watkins and Kyrie Irving tells me it’s flat. We should start over and do it right.

This is like resigning when you are about to be fired, I think. We will never know for sure. IF, and it’s a BIG IF, it can be PROVEN that Ross was willing to pay to tank games, that is a line that can NOT be crossed. Maybe Haslam and some other guys are are not model citizens, but offering to pay to tank games is just unacceptable. The ultimate sin. This is especially true with the emergence of legalized gambling.

That is our quarterback and one tough, courageous little boy!
