That’s how I saw it. Make sure the kid can play, and if he can’t we’ll find somebody else. There is always someone out there who can give you about what Haack provides. When it all hit the fan, they went to their list of guys who could be passable placeholders. Rumor has it they caught wind of @BringBackFergy’s dedicated holder idea and they knew they could have that part covered. OK, maybe not that last part, but you know how rumors are. Easy to start, strangely hard to ignore…..like car wrecks.

It’s going in the right direction. I see it going down to two games before long, maybe when they try to get to 18 games. Not sure if they ever go to zero, but it’s a chance for scrubs to have their day in the sun. My son worked out with a guy who supposedly “played for the Bills”, and there is a photo which seems to confirm that. Just keep Josh and the gang safely on the sideline. The Pro Bowl? I don’t even take a peek.

It’s certainly no Pro Bowl out there! Guys are trying to make a name for themselves and earn roster spots. If I have to watch one, it’s preseason. If I got to eliminate one, that is also preseason. It’s hard to get hurt in a Pro Bowl - even if Brian Moorman disagrees!

Well, don’t be so hard on yourself. I mean, you are above average, but I prefer to think of it as “big boned”. I also love this team and have for decades. I’m not at all surprised that this FO handled a difficult situation about as well as possible.

When I was in college I lived in a three story house (former triplex) with 11 other guys. It was literally like Animal House. The guy on the 3rd floor in the front of the house threw a pony keg thru some glass he stole from the framing shop where he worked (he wasn’t stupid enough to break his own window) into the front yard. He failed to account for the cars parked in the front yard, specifically the one that ended up with a broken windshield. In houses that were more tame I’d maybe take a little responsibility, but I can’t control everything. It was college. Now? It’s our house and we are in charge. But I’m not a kid anymore. By any means or measure……..

Who does NOT say it’s not about the money? We’ll probably never know, but why go after the one guy who happened to make an NFL team, right when he made it. I think I’d have gone after SDSU first. Who do you think has deeper pockets? Hint: It is not a 6th round rookie. I don’t care if the police told them they were handling it, that institution bears some blame if they let this slide. There is something strange about all this, and none of us know all the facts. Certainly not myself.

You weigh everything and make the decisions based upon what we know today. That’s all we can do. I’m generally not one to blame people using my 20/20 hindsight. People like to do this about draft choices. Sure, it’s easy 3 years down the road.

I have not seen it yet, but this would be the approach I would hope for. This will NOT drag on, it is now history. Let’s learn from the past, but let’s all look forward. We have a season to play. .

Do you have to try, or does this come naturally to you? Is there a team you are actually a fan of?

Please realize that they don’t just look into the 6-8 players they draft every year. They look into hundreds of players they might be interested in. If it’s a first round QB the scrutiny is greater than a 6th round punter. I’m sure they wish they had known sooner, and that’s one of the things they will kick themselves for, and hopefully learn from. But face it, surprises happen to most teams in most years.

The owner was very visible in the Deshaun Watson fiasco in Cleveland. That is NOT my model franchise.

I’m sure they are trying to figure all that out. They are asking questions of themselves. What did we miss? How did we miss it? Should we have known? What should we have done differently? Hell, what is the TRUTH here? There are a million reasons smart people would not paint themselves into a corner before they know all the facts and how things went off the tracks. Only THEN do they come up with a statement. Not now, in the midst of fact finding. This is serious stuff, you don’t “just wing it” because “people want to know”. Smart people learn what they need to know, and only then make a plan. .

Please tell us why you want to hear more “I can’t comment on that at this point” from the owners who are not public speakers and have hired people to deal with “all situations football”. Nothing is to be gained by putting them at a podium right now. Only a complete idiot would even consider that. The resolution is not available NOW. This instant gratification stuff is out of control! A candid response would be “I don’t know yet”, but that will only lead to the being badgered to death. ZERO point in that at this point.

Saying it may not help, but DOING it may. They only said it because it was asked repeatedly in as many different ways as possible. Nothing changes if you mix up the words asking the same question.
