  1. It’s OK, we get it. You can’t pick your family. Repeat after me: It’s not your fault… It’s not your fault… It’s not your fault…. 😋
  2. I heard he considered doing it as a sack race, but that might have been too obvious of a ploy to drop to us. He was “coached” on how not to end up in a hell hole situation? Works for me! We deserve nice things! 😋
  3. ……and more attention from the rest of the world. God knows he CRAVES attention. It’s a constant battle between the Cowboys, Lebron and the Lakers and Rodgers to get talked about the most. I’m sick of them all!
  4. The offseason is indeed long. I have to keep reminding myself, only I can control what I click on. I’m just not very good at self-restraint. 🤷‍♂️
  5. Sliced bread and paragraphs are neck and neck, IMO.
  6. Sure, swing for the fences, but don’t pay thru the nose for a a “big name” with a well known injury history. Step back, look at the big picture. I’d prefer Gabe Davis over McCaffrey going forward, especially given the cap expense. Get the next Gabe with the draft picks you saved. Use the savings for guys we need to keep. I don’t like the idea of shopping for bling. I like nuts and bolts.
  7. He will be 26 next year, but that’s not my issue. I’m not paying that much for a slot receiver with his injury history. People always want “Big Names”. I want the NEXT big name, at a discount. Some guy I’ve never heard of, but a guy our scouts are smart enough to identify. THAT is how you get ahead! One of the best things about a first round pick is that they are cheap for 4-5 years. I don’t want to trade that for an injury plagued guy who is already expensive. Sure, he’s a great player when available. I just don’t like the cost that goes with the risk. JMO. .
  8. I’d like to see younger, cheaper and better players the Bills found thru the draft. Chasing Big Names with big contracts is rarely the best path, IMO.
  9. I started going to games as a little kid in the mid 60’s. We’d fight over who got to see what team so my dad went from 2 season tickets to four. I remember a battle at the dinner table over who got the Raiders game. My first memory isn’t even a game event, but walking with the crowd to enter the Rockpile for the first time. This little kid had NEVER seen anything like that! As for favorite memories, again it’s not game related. In the 3rd grade I was friends with Jack Kemp’s son. We would walk home from school to his house, and it felt surreal. I saw a color TV there for the first time in my life. Lots of cool memories because it was just “life” to him, but bigger than life to me! I’m not a jersey guy, or “player obsessed”. You never know who’s a jerk in real life. But I will say my sister used to babysit Butch Byrd’s kids and I played with his son. He seemed like a fine man to my young eyes. After that, probably Kyle Williams. My forum name says I was thinking of my sister when I joined. She had just had unexpected quadruple bypass surgery. Tall, thin, walked miles a day with the dog, never smoked. I didn’t see that coming! My middle name is Augustine (thanks mom and dad!). She would torment me relentlessly calling me Augie Doggy. She was on my mind.
  10. I seriously applaud your use of paragraphs! Thank you! 😋 Beyond that? Yes, he needs to be extended and paid for the WR he truly is. But I’ll trust Beane to do that wisely, which often means to do it before you have to, and before the price goes up. (See Allen, Josh.) .
  11. I almost hate to post this again, but if a guy can tell a stranger in an airport, who am I to hold back? I met a guy in the Chicago airport and we talked there and on the flight to Buffalo for the opener. He said he was Morse’s uncle and mentioned it would be his last year as a Bill. I said I thought he had one more year on his contract, and he just shrugged and said, “well, you know….:.” I don’t know who this guy was, or how good his info was, but we talked the whole flight about Mitch, his wife and kids. His wife seemed all about family as well. It could have been him taking comments out of context, jumping to conclusions, or speaking too soon before a real decision was made. But he believed it, that I’m sure of. It has more basis than a long hug. I am NOT saying it will come to pass, but it surprised me to hear, and I can’t ignore it. A LOT can change between one opener and the next. I’ll just hope he does what’s best for him and his family, and they live a long and healthy life together. .
  12. Well, I’ll have what you and your birdie are having!
  13. I think we have cause for another hypothetical trade thread! 😋
  14. During the last housing boom/bust, the regulators would send people to investigate. I remember an interview where one guy said something like “if they sent anybody in who actually understood what was happening, we had to hire them”. It was too complicated for almost anyone to decipher, but at least there WERE regulators.
  15. There are no guarantees in life. I like their chances. .
  16. I hope you have an awesome trip! We love Nashville and the surrounding area. We used to have a condo there for family and spent a LOT of time there. If they had better weather and I could be sure they could manage their ridiculous growth I’d consider that as a retirement destination. (I’m already retired, but when the wife gives it up.) Most people hear “Nashville” and think country music. It is SO MUCH MORE than that! Amazing college town with Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb all just a few miles apart, plus others. It’s a medical hub with all kinds of technology investment, etc. You might know it better than I do, but if you want hints for restaurants, what to do, etc let me know. EDIT: My wife would probably consider Waco, TX as a vacation destination. She LOVES Joanna Gaines and her style. She actually looked into having her come to Atlanta to our house a few years ago. My wife reads a book, then reaches out to the author with amazing results! She's a dynamo, but Joanna has limits.
  17. Enjoy! Where are you headed? We need some domestic vacation ideas. Cancelled a big trip coming up in a couple months. (I’m not paying YOU to quarantine me.) Don’t worry, there are plenty of people to piss us off in your absence! I’m NOT worried about a shortage! 😋
  18. Draft (the right) one early, and let him play on the cheap for a while. Chasing expensive FA’s at every position is not the way to build a team. It worked with the Rams this year (good for them), but I’m not a fan of that style. The Rams were lucky we fell to the Chiefs in a classic game. The Bengals were lucky they didn’t have to play either of us on a good day. Luck matters. I want a lot of shots, not just one or two. I’m into winning long term more than “win now”. Be in the mix every season, and you will get one eventually. I’m not for rolling the dice on one shot at the cost of future seasons.
  19. I know he wants to be a starter, and be paid like one, but if you can spend 10-15 years doing what he did last season, it’s a pretty good gig! Not a bad start in life! .
  20. I just want to call in and see some guy get penalized for some quirky infraction I noticed. It makes me feel better about my foot wedge employed on every other hole. 😋
  21. Besides, the existence of this thread precludes this from EVER happening. Hypothetical trade threads are NOT allowed to come to existence per Jim Facenda and the other Gods of football. …I’m pretty sure.
  22. I used to review real estate appraisals from around the country, many from Mississippi and Alabama. They not only rejected paragraphs, THEY WOULD DO PAGES AT A TIME IN ALL CAPS! I’d ask “What are you doing? You’re killing me!”. They told me “I was taught to work for speed.” I suggested they throw a little quality in with their quantity. If you are going to make my life hard because you are lazy and barely literate, I’m not going to make YOUR life any easier than I have to. WE pay YOU, keep that in mind. One thing I know is you are not supposed to look directly into them. 😋
  23. It will still be a path for him in a year or two, so why not take the bigger check and the easier life while you can? I respect his decision, and he’s still going to have the coaching option when his time comes. He didn’t reject the coaching option, he just delayed it.
  24. When our kids were young my buddy a few doors up the road had an au pair from France who looked a little like that. She also had an aversion to wearing anything above the waist around the house. Leigh started getting a lot more company dropping by. He’s still married, but I think it was touch and go for a while.
  25. I started, but figured I got the gist of it early on and gave up. It seemed a rather daunting task. There are no participation awards in the NFL. They are not in middle school. If they are afraid of consequences for their quality of play, maybe they need to find a new place to go to work.
