You’d think, wouldn’t you? Our fanbase is up to that challenge. We can be a miserable lot, some more than others.

I don’t ever invite anyone to the house for Bills games. Last week I had everyone at the house for the neighborhood holiday party. The “Committee” (a bunch of old ladies up the road) chose the date and time. About 65 people showed up at halftime and seriously messed me up. I attempted to filter my language, but they could hear me down in the basement. What a disaster!

So, the only team in North American professional sports with a better winning percentage over the last 5 years? Yeah, we suck alright, but the fanbase can be far worse than our defense.

With an unfortunate outcome. I can assure you, having a tab up on my iPad so I can check the score is FAR less riveting than actually watching, but I’ve drawn a line, finally. Xavier lost a Big who would have started to an ACL right before the season, and that’s where we were shallow to begin with. .

I want to watch the Crosstown Shootout between Xavier and Univ of Cincinnati, but it’s only on ESPN+. I’m not adding any more streaming services just because I’m told I need them to see a game. Therefore, this game is indeed unwatchable, and I’m kinda pissed. Third game in a row on ESPN+ that I am missing. When Big East Conference games start almost everything is on FS1. I’m for player freedom and reasonable compensation, but between NIL, the portal and the annual upheaval to the roster, I just care less than I can ever remember.

You had me at bathroom. I was with a group that was taking people from Sarasota up to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. They had a full tour planned, from the press boxes to the locker rooms and the pirate ship. The walk on the field was amazing, it’s like a damn putting green! The plan for the tour was amazing. The plan for transportation was more spotty. It’s fun getting on board and everyone immediately grabs a beer. This is going to be FUN! Beer is flowing, it’s an hour ride. I was fine, but it was amazing watching face by face as they realize there is no bathroom on board. They get quiet and their eyes look all serious.

I’m curious, did faces come of the rain, when they were strange?

I was at a Frampton concert there, and I remember seeing a guy walking by in a daze! Or, maybe it was a mirror. Hard to say at this point, but I know I got home somehow. This game day express thing sounds ideal if it actually works. If you can’t have the stadium downtown, make it easy to get from downtown to the stadium. The driving and parking, then drinking and having to return home, is not my favorite part of the day. I’ve enjoyed cities like Nashville and Cincinnati where I can just stroll from my hotel to the game, then wander back when it’s over. .

That’s what consultants do, come in and slash expenses and benefits, right? But you do have a special gift for selecting gifts.

Yeah, I can see how the appeal of that might not be overwhelming. Is there a hotel across the street you could at least swap with? A little change of scenery for everyone? 😂 Our parties were never anything like that. Never once on a Sunday. Sunday? It was always on a Friday or Saturday night, and usually at a nice restaurant with a private area. And there was PLENTY of alcohol. I think dinner on St Armands Circle in Sarasota would beat……more hours at work with no alcohol. Maybe he just figured it out? 🤷‍♂️

Friends of ours when we were young hosted a crowd for Thanksgiving in their first house one year. They ate early and settled in to watch football. Several hours later everybody gets sick. Their home was a starter house, and it only had one bathroom. There were issues. Serious issues. There is no way I can do it justice. A survivor’s personal re-telling of that story is hysterical. 😂

In college when a new episode came out we could see MASH episodes up to 5 times in a single day with all the reruns. I certainly remember Adam’s Ribs! And the sauce! I’ll look up “Deal Me In”, I’m sure I’ve seen it multiple times. One of my friends even named his dog Hawkeye, it was a big thing back in the day!

As a former big fan of MASH, I think the menu for the Detroit game should include a Jeep like the one Klinger tried to eat.

The wife was kind enough to invite me to her office party, and I was wise enough to politely decline. Last year we had about 50 people from her office at our house, and I saw all I need to know. . I used to have a buddy at the bank I’d see outside of work. He had a big time job and was VERY bright, but when he got some alcohol in him anything might happen. He went into the restroom at the Christmas party one year, and for some unknown reason punched out a (soon-to-be ex) co-worker, breaking his nose. It wasn’t the first time. He started a brawl at a Tampa Bay Bucs game because he thought someone was hitting on MY wife. She said he was a harmless drunk kid (with a purple bra on his head and no shirt in December). Rob couldn’t restrain himself and rows of people started cascading down. He said he was doing me a favor. I said I don’t ever need that kind of favor. I ran into his ex-wife years later and she told me he was living with a girl half his age and there were domestic violence charges filed. Some people just should not drink. He’s really a good guy, but something terrible happens when alcohol is added. Good for you for taking that element out of your life if you felt that was best. You never have to wonder if you said or did anything stupid.

The Ghost of Ralph will be there, for sure.
