  1. No choice but to trust the FO will bring in “the next guy” where all the holes open up. The bad news is it will hurt us badly because we have a good team. The good news is……we have a good team.
  2. Gabe Davis certainly had some room to roam with all the attention on Diggs! Back to the clown show: what do you think the odds are that alcohol may have been a factor? I like the guys who struggle with math saying a guy gave 110% effort. BUT, in this case I’m guessing alcohol was 125% involved! The clip made me think of Mike Curtis with the Colts, #32 I believe, their MLB, absolutely LAYING OUT some fan who ran out onto the field. This guy got off easy! Anyone else remember that?
  3. I may be overly excited because I’ve always loved his potential and he seemed to put it together this year. He finished tied for second among TD’s for TE’s this year, only one behind Travis Kelce. I’m pretty darn pleased and expect him to be a Pro Bowl level TE for years to come. Not bad for a guy who couldn’t get into the end zone in college! Anyway, another very fine addition by Beane & Co. RIP Betty White! .
  4. So, the #1 rated defense, some amazing young stars at WR and an amazing threat at TE don’t count? How about a great young kicker and solid special teams. You’re just cranky. Maybe a Snickers bar would help? 🤷‍♂️
  5. He will be a top option for SUPER BOWL MVP in Vegas, I’d guess. Oh, unless we listen to the “Fire Everyone” crowd. Geesh!
  6. PLUS, it’s more than just a QB completion. I trust our GM and HC, and I’m sure they have a list of attractive options to replace coordinators as needed. We had the #1 rated defense, a great kicker and solid special teams. we have some solid young WR’s and an emerging star at TE. Josh and Mahomes are at the summit of the young AFC QB list (of which there are many which probably inspired the OP) but there is SO MUCH MORE. . Agree, we’re in good hands and will be just fine. .
  7. This thread will be left to the torch and pitchfork crowd as rational people won’t waste much time on this silly nonsense. …..carry on…..
  8. Serious question: What else are you going to do? Do you really want to fire everybody? You know, the people who made us into one of the elite teams in the NFL because you’re upset? Wanting to vent is natural. I hate it as much as any fan, which is to say a tiny fraction of how much the players and staff hate it. But the “fire everyone crowd” are just being immature and short sighted. Hopefully they can get over it sooner than later, and aren’t TOO disappointed when the smart billionaire owners do the prudent thing and stay the course. Things went against us last night. Mistakes were made. But our trajectory is solid and to mess with that in any major way would be shear stupidity. .
  9. Yep, mistakes were made. We lost a game we could have won. Let’s tear it down! FIRE EVERYONE!!! Or……..we could act like adults, learn from our mistakes and realize that this group has turned the Bills into one of the very best team in the NFL. And we keep getting better. Only one team gets to win it all every year. We are a serious threat to be that team. Wanting to clean house is an emotional overreaction at best (that’s the kindest way I can put it).
  10. Thank you for the voice of reason. last year they beat us in the AFCCG. Unfortunately it was a round earlier this year, but I suspect it was the “same” this year. They won, but they didn’t beat us. Last year was not this close by any means. Improvement. It was a spectacular football game, but things just bounced the wrong was. Live and learn. Move on!
  11. Ummm, I skipped to the end. Is this really a serious conversation? Are people going to be “so done with this team!”? Lordy! Talk about some overreaction! It was a game for the ages, we lost after coming within seconds of a miracle victory. Mistakes were made on both sides. We lost. Get over it and move on.
  12. This may be the only safe thread to visit right now. Every little bit helps.
  13. I KNEW that was a mistake! Why don’t I listen to the little voice in my head? WHY???
  14. The people with the “rich girl with a hobby” annoyed the $%^# out of me! They have no friggin’ idea what it takes to get to that level. She is head and shoulders above what 99.999% of those posters have achieved in whatever field they are in.
  15. Are you talking about the pink thong? Was that from the Bills, or someone else? Anyway, HFBD! Be good luck for us!
  16. DIL does a nice appetizer with peeled cucumber slices topped with edamame hummus and half of a cherry tomato with a little cracked pepper over the platter. Again, a summer kinda feel, but visually appealing and tasty.
  17. We just moved, and I’m not even sure where that recipe book is. It’s a lot of typing too. I love gazpacho and will pitch in if I have the time and energy tomorrow. I was upset when my favorite restaurant took it off the menu when fall arrived.
  18. I’m afraid I sin 2 times a day. OK, possibly hourly. I have a fine gazpacho recipe I love with an easy cheat using spicy V-8. I’ll save that for gazpacho season. .
  19. Yep, pretty cool life. Had the Big Hair thing rocking in Blues Brothers. I looked it up and was surprised to see it was about a decade since he passed while touring in Tokyo. Both Duck and June were the most down to earth people you could ever meet. His tales of working with different artists were pure entertainment. Clapton would send him the music and expect it played note for note. EXACTLY. Neil Young would say “that’s what I had in mind, but you do it how you feel it”. He talked about recording with someone (Clapton?) in Miami. He asked the other guys “you remember that little studio?” I was thinking 461 Ocean Boulevard. I asked what album, and he had absolutely no idea. He knew the notes, etc but didn’t keep track of “albums”. We always tried to sit near Duck and June at dinners. Great people. .
  20. You mentioned a case, but I’m wondering about what your wife will drink, and what your plan is for the second half? 😋 I’ll decide between grilled wings, beef on weck or both in the morning. Grandson and mother will be here during the day, maybe some neighbors. Being the late game we may eat early while people are still around. Gotta figure this one out last minute. P.S. - I REALLY miss good German Potato Salad! That is some awesome food! My mom made it, and Schwabl’s is amazing! Maybe if we do the AFC/NFC Championship party? .
  21. It was a circle of R&R (often HOF) musicians. My wife became friends with one of the wives chairing a fundraiser for a performing arts facility. I had never heard of him, or really any of these guys. I mean, you knew the names of these bands FOR SURE, but it wasn’t my thing to know they guys. I think that’s why we were allowed “inside”. I had no clue. I had to shut down my friends who wanted access. Dinner parties were always at someone’s house. If we ever went out for a big event, like a birthday party, it was in a private room. They (especially some bigger names) couldn’t go out in public. Duck and June were not recognized like some others. The lady my wife became close with had a birthday and they brought in a band from Orlando to a private venue a couple hours away. One by one these R&R HOF guys would say “can I use your….” And we ended up sitting largely with the guys from Orlando. They were all “I can’t believe I’m getting PAID for this! I would have paid them to be here!” I’ll never forget Mustang Sally breaking out in one guys foyer after dinner and LOTS of wine. Best live music I’ve ever witnessed.
  22. She SHOULD be! She can’t take it with her! 😋 I wish it was more simple, but quite honestly I don’t personally deal with it, so I can’t complain too much.
  23. Then you get into documenting for gift tax limits. We helped our son and DIL buy their first house in a significant way. One more thing to beware of, despite that limit having gone up substantially over the years. It’s more complicated than is should be in many ways, for sure. The Average Joe can knock it out on Turbo Tax or some other program in no time, unless……..
  24. You don’t necessarily need to be wealthy to make it complicated. I was self employed for many years, and the wife was glad to see me retire because she does the taxes before it goes to the CPA. Being self employed definitely adds significantly to the degree of difficulty.
  25. We played in Nashville for FOUR straight years. Funny how the schedule works out, but Nashville was a great trip and easy for me to get to. KC not so easy, but that’s high on my list of places where I’d love to see a game.
