  1. Good for him! It’s his life and he should do what makes him happy, not what makes sense to someone else’s thinking. It’s not always just money. It could be a million things, and some you might not think of. Maybe his wife loves living near family or maybe she prefers 30 games to 82. Maybe he doesn’t want to work with vets like LeBron and AD? Maybe he’s got a great class coming in and he really does want to go for 3 straight NCAA Championships. He comes from a line of coaches, and maybe that’s what drives him. Regardless, it must be nice to have such great options. Congrats! You earned it!
  2. I don’t want to shock you with this news, but every once in a while people in boats can be idiots. It’s true.
  3. We used to know a builder who was a rather prominent public figure. He was using one of his furnished spec houses as a love nest. A Realtor came in to show the property and walked in on them. Word quickly got to his wife, and as it turns out her brother was involved in organized crime. He put out a hit on the cheating spouse, but word got to the Feds somehow. In order for things to play out, they stuffed his obese body into a car trunk covered with fake blood. He was lucky it was only faked. Who says small towns are boring? .
  4. It’s all encompassing! I’ll take you to the mat on this one, and McD is my coach! Yeah, let the jokes commence.
  5. I’ll be VERY disappointed if this thread does not hit AT LEAST 100 pages!
  6. Don’t worry, October will be here before you know it. Then it will almost be over. 😋 My wife hated it almost as much as I loved it.
  7. I don’t know Allentown, but probably not. It’s plenty for me, however, with multiple options for live music and places to eat and drink.
  8. Enjoy it….the sun will be down soon.
  9. Soup is OFTEN a meal! I have my lunch place for Gumbo, and another for their New England Clam Chowder, and a couple places I go to see if the daily soup will catch me. I even make a lot of vegetable soup at my wife's request, and I do Gazpacho at least once in the summer. Soup IS good food!
  10. I can’t help you with the Marriott as I’ve never been there. The Hampton Inn is just what you’d expect, a Hampton Inn. Never great, but never terrible. The thing I like best about it is the easy walking distance to a bunch of bars with live music and restaurants, one of which I used to go to as a kid with my parents.
  11. If you need a Designated Drunk Driver, I’m your guy! 🍺 Houston would actually be cool. It’s a sneaky huge city I’m curious about. I looked it up a few years ago and Houston had as many Fortune 1000 companies as Atlanta and Chicago combined.
  12. A good friend of mine was a buddy with a Sorrentino kid. I loved that pizza, but looking back I wonder if that was because maybe it was free?
  13. That’s the place! You can easily walk to a bunch of great stuff from there.
  14. I’ve put this out here before, but we have a neighbor who is a rather renowned architect. His wife went to the beach for vacation, and he went to Buffalo for his own little architecture tour. He saw the Bills stuff in the man cave and sent me pictures of wings and beer that weekend! I said “you have to try the pizza!” A few seconds later I get a pic of his pizza. It was an immersion experience, I give him credit. This guy can and does go all over the world for jobs and pleasure. He’s an expert in architecture and this was a treat for him. I didn’t realize that growing up, and I bet a lot of people out there still don’t realize all the old jewels remaining from when Buffalo was thriving.
  15. I spend a few minutes here and there looking at Bills stuff. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT??? 😂 P.S. - I was not alone, as it turns out. It would be wise to make GRASS more widely known. Nobody will fail to appreciate the improvement.
  16. Unless they melt our players, of course. I just watched the interview with Beane saying how Tommy Doyle played the last 4 snaps with a torn ACL because there was nobody else. Three guys before him were lost to heat illness. That is insane, and the Competition Committee needs to allow shade if you want it. My first choice would be Seattle since I’ve never been there. My more realistic option is Indianapolis because it’s so close to Cincinnati where I went to school. If I could get the Bills and a college hoops game in with one trip, that would be a big win.
  17. This is why Roger gets the BOOOS! I used to think that was silly. I’ve come around on that one.
  18. WAIT. We’re going to a grass field? Didn’t he just say that? And how had I not heard that before?
  19. They have a thread for that. We are TBD, after all. 😋
  20. I lived in Hamburg thru 3rd grade and went back to look around a few years ago when I was back for a game. I had lunch at John and Mary’s (a treat for me!) and it looked like the little downtown area was doing well with some cute shops and restaurants. I’d like to spend a bit more time looking around there next trip back.
  21. I’ve stayed at several places downtown, and they were all fine. It’s nice to be walkable to different restaurants and bars. Along that line, I usually stay on Main St in Williamsville at the Hampton Inn. That was my old stomping grounds and there are plenty of options within an easy walk.
  22. I give you my favorite Buffalo Braves team, give or take a year. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/BUF/1974.html
  23. Our offspring will have my wife’s side of the gene pool to appreciate, and hope the blue stuff floating in the kiddie end doesn’t spread too far.
