  1. I think it’s worth noting that most of those positions are backups, not the primary guy. We will need DB’s (you can never have enough but we are good at finding and developing them) and a 2nd TE (unless Sweeney makes a leap). WR is a legit need, but behind Diggs and Gabe Davis (I don’t see Beasley sticking around). Maybe one of the young guys steps up? It’s not as bad as it looks at first glance.
  2. ….and we have the balance of free agency and the draft to fill them. Every team has holes. I trust our guys to have a plan, and to execute it better than most teams.
  3. …and walk on in college, I believe. That is an amazing feat! I’m also happy for him. If there’s on position I trust our guys to evaluate and develop, it’s DB. Easier playing primarily zone.
  4. I think it’s very believable that they would look into it. That is what they are paid to do. I’m also not at all surprised that they were not willing to pay the price Carolina wanted. He’s not a franchise QB, so he can be dealt, for the right price. The injuries and the salary are probably the reasons we were limited in what we would offer, and that just wasn’t enough. Makes sense to me.
  5. Oh! Oh! I think I know the answer to this one! .
  6. Interesting that he actually WAS a WR in college. Catching the ball is very natural for him.
  7. You WILL be reported if you try to show us your buh-tocks.
  8. Early in the morning. OK, maybe more specifically Jan/Feb of 1985 as a guess. EDIT: more like late ‘84, not that it matters.
  9. I’ll play along……because I might lose sleep tonight unless I get this off my chest. This might help. I was living in Hilton Head when my uncle in Buffalo passed away. My then fiancé took care of my dogs while I drove up thru Cincinnati with my parents to pick up my sister in college. It really was a beautiful service, and the falling snow at the cemetery created that special quiet solitude. My father, in his infinite wisdom, decided to stay for dinner at some place on Maple Rd. Lovely, really. We headed back toward Cincinnati a bit before dark. Before we hit Cleveland I get the wheel. My entire nuclear family is in the car, and they are all sleeping in a dark whiteout. I have never seen anything like this along the lake between WNY and Cleveland. I can barely see the hood ornament, much less the road. I start driving by “feel”, like when you hit those studs in the road to define lanes. I’m staying between the bumps. At this point, I just want to pull over, but I can’t tell where “over” is. We will get crushed by any truck coming from behind. All options are bad, and I am the only one awake. THEN, I feel the bottom drop out and I think we have gone into the ditch, but it’s too smooth. It was like the drop on a rollercoaster. There was no “tire thump” on the right side of the highway I can’t see. It was an exit ramp, and I blew thru thru the stop sign to get back onto that nightmare! My mother then woke up to see the situation, and she added some sailor talk I can’t post here. Still freaks me out to this day. About an hour later my dad woke up as we were heading south from Cleveland and offered to drive. Gee, thanks…..
  10. Do you think this might be why Trubisky chose Pittsburgh? 😋
  11. That will cost you three Hail Murrays, watched consecutively.
  12. Not at all. He said it was a certainty, then he said it was a possibility. It was never a certainty, but it was always a possibility. That is true with every FA. We all knew it was possible. The process has to play out, then we know. I wish him well, especially against AFC teams!
  13. Poyer and Hyde didn’t seem exciting at the time to most. I love this kind of signing more than a Clowney deal. I agree, build the lines, make everyone else better.
  14. ….and hopefully better….with a running back far more often.
  15. Yep, I love this kind of signing. I don’t need Clowney or Ray Lewis, names people know and gush over. I prefer guys like Poyer and Hyde who I knew little or nothing about. They came in, fit what we needed and gave us quality value.
  16. Wreck a knee and that costs you one season, and part of another to get whole physically and mentally. I hope he puts it together and surges forward this year. A lot to play out between now and week one.
  17. No, we got a different celebrity, Bozo the Clown!
  18. It’s a worse collapse than either, but the stakes were not as high. You have to weight both of those factors. A missed 47 yard FG is not shocking, it happens all the time. But if it’s at the end of a Super Bowl, the anguish factor goes up substantially. Losing a game like that with 13 seconds left is MUCH harder to even imagine, but it wasn’t even the AFCCG (though it felt like it should have been).
  19. ….or we are competing for playoff seeding. Which is almost certainly the case. Maybe we can get Fitzy to be his backup? That would take care of the problem!
  20. All part of the game……
  21. He may be a better fit with Kromer? The concussion history concerns me. Just goes to show, never have too much faith when a player’s uncle tells you in an airport heading to a game that he’s gone after the year.
  22. That sounds familiar. We moved into a new house (for us, 23 years old) on 12/15 and had a new washer/dryer delivered from Home Depot. The guys plugged it in and said they both had to run a cycle before we could use them. He hit the start buttons and left, the wife went up to her office and I walked the dogs. When I get back there was a FLOOD from the dining room thru the butler pantry (with adjacent laundry room) to the kitchen. The guys turned on the washing machine, but never put the hose in the drain! I fumbled around and figured out how to turn the washing machine off. The wife is on a national call with senior management, and I don’t even know where the towels are in the new house. I find a box with towels and clean up the mess. The wife finishes her call and gets on the phone with Home Depot. They send a plumber by who asks if I took pictures. NO, I was too busy cleaning it up! He felt the wet pad of the rolled up dining room rug, takes his own pictures and leaves. HD starts a claim for us, but weeks go by before they send out an adjuster. He comes and looks around, confirms that the boards of the wood floor have indeed cupped and the finish is off. We had a wood floor guy come and get a $4k+ estimate to refinish 1,058 SF of wood floors on that level. Fast forward, it is now MARCH, and we are still fighting with them. Last week we forwarded email from the floor guy confirming the exact square footage, and again we are back to waiting. They keep saying it is moving forward, but, back to my original point…….NOTHING HAPPENS FAST. Good luck!
  23. I won’t judge anyone on how they live their lives and manage their careers. I don’t want others questioning why I left banking for real estate, for example. Why is that anyone else’s business? Simply, it’s not. It made me happier. Brady can do what he wants. I hope his family is good with it, but that is between them, and none of my business. I don’t get why other people think they should have some say in this. You live your life, let him live his.
  24. The Magic 8 Ball says “Outlook Good”. 😋
  25. It’s never too late, because the price never stops going up.
