…and, I’ll be at least mildly surprised if we don’t have another CB on the roster before the draft. It’s just how Beane rolls.

That was the short version that left out the thousands of people greeting him at the airport at 2:30am.

A) I’m glad it wasn’t high school, and……. B) This is NOT Penthouse Forum (that I have heard of from other people).

My best friend from college gave his mother a tennis lesson this morning. I now feel a very deep and personal connection and I know this will be the signing of the offseason for us. This one finally brings us the TROPHY!

Coach K losing to Izzo would be fitting. Izzo is a great coach. Coach K is a guy who should have won more championships given that he had his pick of high school All Americans every year. Like Calipari, he has done less with more to an amazing degree. Other than whining, he’s just a recruiter.

Happy Birthday! As it turns out, 57 is the new 47! At least, that’s what I told myself……. 🤷♂️

Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
Augie replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I suggest 5 years does not change young and handsome THAT much. No longer having money nor a wife seems to go hand in hand. Sorry about that. 🤷♂️ I had a banking client who had a troubled marriage. He said he had bad news and good news. OK, start with the bad news……it’s going to cost $5 million to get divorced. The good news? I HAVE $5 million! -
If you ever get the chance without too much trouble, check out an NCAA tournament. Not quite a Bills opener, but it’s four days of constant action and energy! I’ve been to a bunch over the last 20 years, and it’s incredible! I’ve been to a Bills SB, and the Masters, and a bunch of other cool events. The wildest time I ever had was the NCAA tournament in Orlando. The first bar I walked into in Church Street Station became my home base. There was a crowd of a 2-3 dozen guys from Wisconsin at the bar having a riot of a time. I’m alone (though tons of Xavier peeps are there) and happen to buy a few guys a pitcher. I was immediately “adopted” and part of the family. They have 3 generations of guys who pick a warm weather spot every year, regardless of where Wisconsin is playing. Each school has their cheerleaders and bands and they do a thing outside the bars before heading to the games. It’s like Mardis Gras, St Patricks Day and Woodstock had a baby! Nothing else like it!

Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
Augie replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can you beat Rich Eisen in the 40? That is your first test. He’s pricey for a backup, but if you need him you really need him. I hope we can run the ball better this year so we can win games without being so “Josh reliant” if need be. . -
That turned into one heckuva game! It ended the way I hoped. I spent a week in Chapel Hill for 5-6 straight summers when our boys went to hoops camps there. Really grew to like that town! I had lunch at a bar where some lady REALLY knew her Baylor basketball, and she could cuss like a sailor! I wanted to hug her and take her home with me, but I thought her husband or my wife might have frowned on that. Besides, she might have been armed, who knows? 🤷♂️ EDIT: Xavier gets old coach Sean Miller back! He comes with some baggage for getting caught doing at Arizona what everyone else was doing, but we should be back in the tournament after the last coach proved to be a better recruiter than actual coach. .

I was married just a few years and was living in Hilton Head, SC. My wife was at Trust school at Campbell University somewhere in NC. I was driving north up I-95 to pick her up and then head somewhere on vacation. It starter raining…..HARD! I’m hating it, but slow down and keep going. After a while I look left to the southbound lanes and realize something is wrong. Lights keep flipping on and off and bouncing around. As I get closer I realize it’s a car that has hydroplaned and rolled into the median. I pull over to the left quickly, but nervously in that weather and traffic. I’m the first one there and not sure what to do! This is before cell phones. The car is upside down in the median and the drivers window has been rolled down. Her tires were right there to inspect, and almost new. A young lady is trying to crawl out of this upside down car into the swamp of the median. She wont listen to my advice to remain still and stay dry. By then, others have stopped. The lady right behind her was more freaked than I was. “She was doing just what I was doing!” It’s cold outside, so I go to my car and get my quilt I had slept with since college, Yes, I had a blankie! I wrap her in that and the crowd continues to grow. There is nothing I can add at that point, so I numbly go back to my car and drive north…..very slowly.

It might be your TV. Or you might need to eat more carrots. 🤷♂️ St Peter’s beating Kentucky last night was AMAZING! Calipari may be the most overrated coach in all of sports. He gets his pick of the 5 star recruits and can’t get out of the first round. Iowa State was 2-22 last year and just beat LSU. THAT is some serious coaching! I LOVE this weekend!

Bills sign DT Tim Settle, formally of Washington Commanders.

Beane always seems to fill the obvious holes in FA before the draft, allowing us to do what makes the most sense, rather than reach. -
Deshaun Watson to Browns - $230 million guaranteed
Augie replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
What ends well for the Browns? 🤷♂️ I doubt it gets better with this owner. Forget counting QB’s, we need more bad owners in the AFC! -

If only you could trade OWNERS! -

I thought it was funny they talked about wanting him out of the AFC. I wish it had gone that way but…….you realize you’re the Houston Texans, right? You’re not competing for anything! Let the Browns bankrupt themselves. They will continue to be the Browns. -

I guess he can afford to pay for those massages now. -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
Augie replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
That is why they play the games. Nobody declared it a lock that I know of. The AFC is a rough path, for sure. I don’t know who will represent in the Super Bowl, but you can’t argue that Vegas doesn’t have the Bills as favorites. That’s not an opinion, that is a fact. -
HA! My son played HS basketball and spring football against Trey Burton and his younger brother. Trey threw a TD (as a TE) in a Super Bowl. Cool for him. The younger brother was such a jerk his coach came to our coach to tell him his weaknesses and how to stop him in middle school basketball. You gotta be a serious A-hole if your own coach is trying to stop you!

Beane will trade for some late picks and draft capital to shuffle around. It’s his MO. -
It would shock me more if there was NOT a trade. That’s Beane’s style, pick up extra draft picks, even late ones, to use as chips to move around in the draft. We’ve got a LOT of DL options, and we haven’t drafted yet.

To be more specific, a Stairmaster slaying beast! That led to a QB slaying beast! Chubby kid turned into one of the very best ever. Too bad Dareus and some others lacked that level of character, but character often defines us more than innate talent. -
Coming back from an Achilles injury is a B-word. I have friends who have gone thru that, and I know it’s a rough one. I’m not doctor, but I just might rather go thru an ACL rehab which has become fairly routine these days. Amazing how times have changed, as an ACL tear used to be career threatening, while now it’s more of a “nuisance”. .
