Top 10 Herd Hierarchy following Free Agency
Augie replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I admit I wasn’t an Allen believer. I WAS hopeful, but it took miraculous improvement to get to this point. Cowherd takes positions, and admits he changes those positions when new information becomes available. That sounds reasonable to me. He says his most popular segment is generally Colin right/Colin wrong. He owns it when he’s off the mark. I don’t see hating on that. -

I like him too. A lot of people seem to think he’s condescending or annoying in some other way, but I enjoy him. He does wear me out a bit on LeBron and the Lakers. Ugh, yes, you live in LA and I don’t. I get it. I’m also a guy who doesn’t watch the NBA until maybe the Finals, if then. But he is VERY high on the Bills in general, and Josh in particular. That part is always fun! We used to get about the same attention level as the Lions. My, how times have changed! -
Josh Allen is a future HOFer. There I said it...

Exactly NOBODY can KNOW that. But you are free to THINK that. Don’t shoot the messenger. Without the well regarded McD at the helm, we are unlikely to even get that shot. Rex just wishes he could get that far. . -

He sucks, and we should look to trade up in the first for some third rate guy we’ve never heard of! Please excuse me while I try to balance the jinx juju here. It’s a tricky balancing act. A chicken may later be involved. But we all like chicken, right? It can be prepared so many ways! -
While Belichick has a LB, two TE’s and a couple so-so WR’s as his top 5 highest paid players. He’s NOT a genius as a GM.

Throw in Edge, CB1 and LT, and you’d better be darn good at drafting everything else! .

I agree Oliver and Knox are the priorities there. I hope we can keep them all at the right price, but you need the young up-and-comers. I’ve always liked Knox more than most, even when he battled with the dropsies. I LOVE his trajectory and ceiling. Oliver is too good to let him get away easy, and I think his best years are ahead of him as well. Singletary shouldn’t cost much to keep. It always comes down to the dollars. This just goes to show how critical the draft is. You have to keep restocking the shelves with cheap labor. You can’t pay everyone top dollar! .

Nobody guessing UB?

And it’s not just the small schools. All schools are stepping stones all the way to the top of the mountain. I graduated from Xavier in the 80’s. They became regulars in the NCAA tournament and had a bunch of Sweet 16’s and Elite 8’s. Coach after coach left for bigger schools and huge raises. Ohio State, Arizona and Louisville can offer a couple million more per year for a hot Head Coach. That is hard to turn down. Most recently we lost Chris Mack to Louisville after being a #1 seed in the tournament. As these coaches who recruited you for years leave for more money at other schools, I have to feel for the kids who are “stuck” in place. If the coach has mobility, I think it’s only fair if the player has mobility. I do NOT LIKE IT, but I understand it and it seems like they should have that option without sitting out a year, at least one time. Rosters are so fluid it’s hard to keep up with now. You no longer develop guys over 4 years. That ended with the one and done’s, and it’s only accelerated with the transfer portal. I’ll will enjoy college basketball a little less as a result, but that’s life. If you’re a Xavier fan, the good news is Sean Miller returned to Xavier (yeah, after getting in trouble in Arizona) and took less money (but still a fortune) than was offered by some other bigger schools. The guy has made his money and he’s only 53, so it’s more about a comfortable fit than chasing the almighty dollar at this point for him.

He has generational wealth….that should last for generations. Stick to proven professionals, and play a little with the pocket change if you feel the urge.

Forget 4k TV! We need holographic TV! I forget what hole it was, but the drive landed 90 feet below the green. That is like hitting your approach shot onto the roof of a 9 story building. It’s insane! And the greens? Imagine being in Cincinnati and putting towards Charlotte to get to Cleveland! .

I seriously expect a CB signing before the draft. It’s how Beane rolls.
-
It’s a passing league. After you get the QB, you need the WR, and the CB to contain the WR. Then you need the Edge rusher to get after the QB, and the LT to stymie the edge rusher. I have just named the five highest paid positions on the Bills roster. Better to get them “cheap” for 4-5 years in the draft than go out and pay thru the nose for FA’s. Tre White was a fine pick in the first. Quality WR’s often contribute immediately. Get the most important positions filled with the best (and cheapest) players you can get.

They have very affordable pimento cheese sandwiches nearby! The Augusta National gear in the clubhouse is no bargain, but the food and drinks along the course have surprisingly low prices. Dirt cheap. We were supposed to meet up with my wife’s brother, but plans got messed up and we never found each other. NO CELL PHONES is a strict rule (you lose the passes for violating, for at least the whole week), so when the initial plan failed it was hard to recover. Had to wait until we were off the course and could use a phone at a bar to hook up. August National is amazing. August, GA…….not so much! I have to go to a black tie wedding there in the next few months. They think they are deep south genteel. I’m dreading it.

A couple things come to mind after a quick Wikipedia check. First, he didn’t mention that he was the interim coach at the time. This probably doesn’t change the rules, but he conveniently leaves that out. There also just may be another version of that story. He acts like he wants to take the high road and smell like a rose, but he was pretty quick there to throw the owners under the bus and expose them. Maybe the fact that they let him go following the 2016 season influenced his outing of them? . “Malarkey and the Titans agreed to part ways” according to Wiki, but it sounds like at least one party is still harboring some resentment. -
The guy finished a tournament with a torn ACL. If he doesn’t finish, it’s because he can’t finish, not because he took it lightly. I promise, TV does not convey how difficult that terrain is. We had the pleasure of attending on a Thursday a few years ago. Seeing that course is a bucket list type of item. I hope he makes the cut (currently even). Golf is better with him out there, and his fellow golfers have to appreciate the extra money he’s generated with his presence over the years. .

I’m not sure what that is, but if there is a stupid law, we probably have.

How about motorcycles stop weaving in and out of traffic, passing cars all over on the highways all over Atlanta and elsewhere? Why all these bumper sticker telling ME to watch out for THEM? How about they stop being stupid and put more burden upon themselves to stay alive? My wife worked with a couple guys who met up and started biking (bicycles) around the narrow, windy, hilly roads around Atlanta. I joked “good, now they will have somebody to call 911 for them”. It was a JOKE, not a curse. I take no blame, but within a month one guy went over his handlebars breaking his collar bone and knocking his front teeth out, among other injuries. A simpleton could see how dangerous those roads are for biking, but we have no shortage. 🤷♂️

I hope we NEVER pay a RB a ton. Just use ‘em up, then get a new one. There are very few exceptions. I bet the Cowboy’s would like a do-over on Zeke’s contract.

You must SERIOUSLY AGREE! It happens. Ooops….
