  1. I don’t remember the team ever seeming to enjoy each other so much. Back in the glory days they seemed to party pretty hard together (including possibly on some very important and historical dates). But these guys really seem to enjoy each other and have a good time together. The word “culture” seems overused, but I really think it applies here. Hats off to these young men and the people who built this environment.
  2. I wish the Browns would just stick to screwing up the Browns. That seem like a full time job for them.
  3. So……..the voices came to you early in life. Interesting. My mother-in-law had a Chrysler New Yorker. Like a red velvet interior you might expect in a brothel above a saloon in the Wild West. No offense, but that was the biggest piece of trash I’ve ever driven (other than my first car, a Chevette which struggled to go up hills). I had to adjust the seat to drive it, but in order to reach the controls I had to open the door. Crazy! EDIT: Fret not! The draft will be here soon! .
  4. It may be telling that the first thing that came to my mind was the girl in 3rd grade who had no reservations about hanging upside down from the monkey bars while wearing a skirt. I seem to recall that kickball also took place, but I have clear visions of the playground and those money bars! 🤷‍♂️
  5. I respect everyone who analyzes the numbers and puts things in numerical perspective. I’m a guy who looks at the player and has gut reactions. I know that’s not something that is empirically defensible, but I go by my feel, and I’m often enough wrong. 🤷‍♂️ I see Gabe Davis as a guy who gets it done and makes great plays. I saw Knox the same way, even when things seemed questionable. They had gaps in their play as young guys, but they are playmakers. I consider the entire season, including the record setting playoff performance, and I thought Gabe had one helluva year.
  6. You are half correct. If I look from one side, the eyelets are on the left. If I take a few steps and look again from the other side, the eyelets are on the right. Spooky, I know!
  7. Perhaps you should move to a different hemisphere? 🤷‍♂️ You made me look at my flag. The buffalo is heading OUT, as it should be. I have no desire to look like Rex’s truck!
  8. My wife must be a good authority, because this sounds familiar! I’m guessing in the Beane regime Rex and that cab driver are not in the inner circle. That is one tight ship! I’ve been to a Bills Super Bowl, and it was great. I think I’d prefer being in the Bills draft room than personally attend another SB. Check each box on the bucket list!
  9. We love football! I liked their chances last time, but Covid proved untimely. This could be the new minor league where guys learn, grow and get noticed.
  10. Only 23 seconds left. No way they could blow this! I apologize to anyone I may have triggered, and to those who may have to read those responses.
  11. What you call an “outlier”, @DC Tom might have another word for. This feel like a cry for help. It will be OK.
  12. Apparently I was not old enough to fully appreciate Cookie. I’ll take your word for it, as I was more of the age to hear about Cookie after the fact. I will say, three years seems short, but the earliest formative years for the teams are special and I guess can be viewed like “dog years”. Like Neil Armstrong, you get special recognition for being special first.
  13. I ignore the weekend tournament stuff. I don’t know who those people are. It’s not like my close and dear friends here on this message board (whom I have never met, for the most part). If you go too fast or are not careful, it’s easy to fat finger a word and it won’t give it to you. I then think I’ve already done that word, when in fact it’s the last one remaining. I’m embarrassed by how many levels I’ve finished (over 29k). I apparently have WAAAY too much time on my hands.
  14. I have to think there is something personal behind the scenes that we don’t know that explains this. It’s too obvious he belongs, and it’s been FAR too many years to go by. I hope the Pegula's correct this ASAP. Besides being an all-time great player, he was a kind and forgiving man. He and his family lived at a property my mother managed. My sister would babysit their kids and I traded football cards with his son. I watched Bills games in his living room while my sister was sitting his kids. He came to the door one day dressed in a nice suit. He was talking with my dad and I wanted to show them both a little science fact I had learned that day. If you put equal pressure on an egg from every direction, it will not/cannot break. Unfortunately, my pressure was less than equal, and I sprayed raw egg all over his suit. 😱 I say he was kind and forgiving…… because I lived to tell that tale. Put the man on The Wall. It’s a no-brainier. GET IT DONE!
  15. Well……..that is OK and a wise decision on your part. You are indeed a very discerning Beerball. Turn on me and I go all psycho movie on you! Does Home Depot or Lowes have cheaper chain saws? Maybe I can get a coupon online? I might need some time to line things up…..affordable mayhem is in the frugal details.
  16. You are just out to hurt feelings, aren’t you? .
  17. You can NOT make me! I was a Wordscape guy, and the last thread (combined with my grandson) got me into Wordle. My mom does Words With Friends with my sisters and others. I have to draw the line somewhere! ….but they seem to like it, so……. 🤷‍♂️
  18. I was in the Square yesterday for lunch. Usually once or twice a week. It’s 7 miles straight up the road for me.
  19. Knowing the Cabana Inn, you didn’t have to get that little critter from a pet store! All hail the rat! (Or your ingenuity, if that was the case….) That’s an expensive piece of dirt, and I’m not sure why that place was still standing the last time I was back. EDIT: Welcome! .
  20. I certainly don’t know the guy, but he seems like the kind of guy who’s going to put the contract ahead of the chance for a ring unless it’s super close. I don’t even mean that in a critical way, just that different things drive different people. That’s OK, it just is what is is as long as you know what you’re dealing with. I’ll be curious to see how it goes for the Colts if he has to battle thru injuries the next couple seasons. That’s a LOT of guaranteed money.
  21. Yahoo is a bit like Sports Illustrated. When I hear something from them I think…..”huh, who knew they were still around?”
  22. Our unwillingness to just keep handing the ball to Thurman cost us that Super Bowl. I’m not going to name names, but….. We now have a good opportunity to correct that unfortunate outcome! .
  23. Ohhhhh, the memories! It was about 30+ years ago when I went to a wedding of a close childhood friend in Pittsburgh. One of “the gang” was there with his wife. I had never met her before, but she walked up to me and said “So, you’re the guy who farted on my husband’s head”. 😱 🤷‍♂️ WHAT? I had no recollection of such an event, or how that could even go down. But I could not deny it was not a possibility. That was a long time ago, and fortunately nobody threw a flag! OK, I’m (temporarily) done sharing far too much. Turns out the fart head’s wife is awesome, and she thought the tale was hysterical!
  24. I was thinking more a trip to Paris for a custom chapeau……but Tops will work.
  25. Take Brady out of the math and they are all day laborers.
