  1. That just goes to show how absolutely INCREDIBLE Bruce Smith was! Best of luck to Jerry moving forward. He deserves it, unless he’s playing the Bills. I hope changing his jersey helps him get some holding calls going forward! .
  2. I’m with you, coming in for one home game a year. I’ll be very interested to see what kind of ideas come out here. I get my tix on the secondary market most of the time. I like when I end up in a group of season ticket holders who all know each other. It adds even more to the sense of community. Maybe this already exists, but even if we just had a ticket exchange avoiding those annoying StubHub fees! I’m not sure why they bother me so much! OK, let’s put all those brilliant minds to work and figure out how to make something really cool out of this opportunity!
  3. Week one in Buffalo would be a treat for both teams. Week one in Miami and someone just might die. I’ve been to free Florida games like that. Next time I just thank them for the offer. (And realize that they actually hate me for wishing that upon me!) .
  4. I get that UB likes the idea of an on-campus stadium. BUT……it would be nice to build one stadium to meet the need of two teams. USF football plays in the Buc’s stadium. UB already has a split campus, so people are not just walking over to the stadium. I left WNY when I was 17. If I’m way off here that’s cool. The locals will know better.
  5. Who’d a thunk he’d leave after the orange slices were handed out? He was just in it for the fruit!
  6. Walt Putalski. ……I don’t get out much. 🤷‍♂️
  7. He’s easy to make fun of for his goofy caps and multiple missteps. I too wish him all the best. We’ll never know how much of his life’s troubles came from losing family members or becoming insanely wealthy at a young age, or things we know nothing about. Life is complicated, and too short to hate on people. Yes, he was disappointing in ways, especially after he got paid. Apparently he was not well equipped for what he’s encountered in life. That doesn’t mean he can’t learn and grow as a person. I’ll kid about him but, like anyone else, wish him well in life.
  8. Abe is my nephew. He’s much younger than myself.
  9. I know a LOT of people will disagree, and that’s fine, but I like my Bills games on Sunday at 1:00 pm. There is an internal body clock and a certain rhythm to a Sunday game at that time. For those of you who love the excitement and attention that comes with prime time games, you will be happy. I am the one who is going to have to adjust. The Bills are not only good, but they are fun to watch. There will be a LOT of prime time games in our future.
  10. I have a buddy who had a wild teenage son. I highly suggest a healthy umbrella policy. It’s not expensive, but IF you NEED it, it’s coverage nice to have.
  11. If I take my car to a dealership, anything that happens until I pick it back up and sign off is on THEM. What am I missing? I’m serious. I think I must have missed something here.
  12. That was me for many years. I felt like it was part of dressing up, but I normally just rely upon my phone. Our 29 year old son was just here for Mother’s Day and it reminded me of the first time I saw a cell phone. We were at one of his tee ball games and a VERY pregnant mom got one ahead of the curve as a precaution. My son doesn’t know the world without cell phones, and my father could never work one. What will the next generation see? My wife read a study about guys in their 20’ and 30’s. Of the few who did wear a watch, I think about 2/3 would do it just as a fashion statement. Funny story: Last time I went to wear one of my two watches I noticed it had stopped. I took it to a jeweler at the mall to replace the battery. Just as I was walking in I looked at it and saw it ticking away! Only then did I recall it was solar operated and realize sitting in my dark closet was not cutting it! That saved an embarrassing moment for me! EDIT: both of my watches are “non smart”. My phone and TV are already smarter than me. I don’t need to be further looked down upon by my devices.
  13. I know, but I’m not allowed to tell. I’ve been to one Bills SB. It was vs the Redskins in Minneapolis. It did not end well, of course, but it checked that box for me. I don’t “need” to attend another, but I would if the situation was right. I first and foremost want the Bills in the Super Bowl! After that there are options: would I rather be at the SB game, or in the draft room a few months later. I’d take the draft room.
  14. My experience is that you are often sitting among other season ticket holders, and they provide the camaraderie you crave. It’s like a little family unit. You know everybody by name, ask what’s up with Mary if Bob shows up alone, ask about the kids, high five each other, etc. I honestly believe that is probably MORE true at a Bills game than for any other team in the league.
  15. Wouldn’t it absolutely SUCK if something clicked and he became the player he was capable of being? On the Ravens??? Yeah, I’m not too worried about it either.
  16. Maybe people would like our drafts better if we went back to sucking so we got to pick earlier? 🤷‍♂️ I’ll judge more on the overall team results than how this guy or that guy panned out. They’re doing something right! You can’t suck at drafting and be a Super Bowl favorite every year. I’d love more of a quick twitch/speed pass rusher, but so would every other team in the league. They are just not that easy to come by! I like our guys, let’s just keep winning!
  17. I only buy on the secondary market, and it’s almost always a single. I fly in for a long weekend and do my WNY thing hitting all my favorite restaurants and bars. (Last year was the exception, taking the family to the opener.) Based on my experience sitting at the airport bar waiting for the flight home, I am far from alone on this. It seems a lot of singles are doing the same thing. BTW - since I grew up with nice seats, I was always spoiled when I bought my tix. When I looked at airfare, hotel, car rental, etc I figured spend a little more and get the best seat possible, especially if it’s on an aisle between the 40’s about 25 rows up. I was a seat snob. I sat with a friend who had an extra seat in the upper bowl a few years ago. It was my first game up there, and the “cheap seats” have great views! I had no idea! I’m no expert, but your seat would appeal to me.
  18. Ohh, I get it! You have to decide what your priorities are. As a way out of town guy, I just pick and chose games and seats. I’m not going all in like a season ticket holder. I’d pay to get close enough to have any Bill chug my beer after we score a TD. Or, hell, even punt for that matter! THAT is something unlike anything I’ve done before. I’d buy a Sunday from some guy who made the investment.
  19. WOW! That looks like they are playing in your living room! You even get your comfy chair! Just like your living room……which IS covered and heated. Hmmmmm. I kid, but the NFL has created such a great home experience, and now the stadiums need to compete and be bigger and better.
  20. I have no idea who Brett Kollmann is, but I hope he’s a GENIUS!
  21. I’ll let Beane split the vote and call it a day. Nothing against anyone in particular, but some people have draft day grudges that go back decades! Chill out! It happened, and it’s over and we have moved on. Life is good!
  22. Maybe in how they move, but Dalvin is 20 lbs heavier, but not quite as fast. (Assuming you can believe anything on the internet 🤷‍♂️) In todays NFL, I’m not sure if lighter and faster isn’t better going forward. NO, I am NOT saying James will be better than Dalvin, just commenting on how the game is shifting. Between Cook and a couple other hybrid type picks, I just wonder if we are not ahead of the curve on how the game is changing. Or, we guessed wrong on the trend and we’re screwed……… 😂
  23. Notice that he had to go back a few years to find one guy who stood out for his pure speed. Generational speed. The league is not littered with RB’s with THAT kind of speed! If people are still talking about Chris Johnson, it’s because he was THAT rare! Nobody is claiming Cook is that kind of player. But he has enough speed to help our team, and that’s what I care about. You can look at a 1.40 10 yard split vs a 1.52, and they are both pretty fast. I’ll take the guy who’s a football player. If this were a track team, I’d reconsider, but we play in the NFL.
  24. I played rugby in college. My prior football experience tells me it was time to wrap up and wait for help against that monster! Grab an ankle and act like an anchor to maybe slow him down a little! I guess being dragged 20 yards for the score sliding on my belly wouldn’t be much more attractive…….
  25. It’s something that highlight reels rarely focus on, but blitz recognition and pickup will likely determine how quickly he works into the rotation and how many snaps he gets. Keep Josh upright and healthy! Job #1!
