  1. “I’m sorry if some people felt uncomfortable with this experience. That was certainly not my intention.” (Although in reality, I think making them uncomfortable is EXACTLY what he liked about it.) Something sweet and simple along those lines. It doesn’t have to be a big deal, but in MY opinion, it should exist in some form both to do the right thing and also to help make this go away. .
  2. I suspect Von Miller approves of this message.
  3. My wife was having some serious health issues a few years ago. Serious abdominal pain. At one point they did an emergency appendectomy only to say afterwards “well, we’ll know next time it’s not the appendix.” During testing they found something abnormal and concerning with her pancreas and referred her to an oncologist……who could’t see her for like 3-4 months. Seriously? THAT is not acceptable! She lucked into one of the top specialists in the country. Our SIL is an OB/GYN about 3 hours away and she wanted to come the day of surgery just to meet this guy. He’s a rock star in that world. My wife mentioned the pancreas abnormality in the first visit. He asked how long ago they noticed it and she told him 6-9 months prior. His response was “no, that’s not it. If it was the pancreas you’d be dead by now”. He went on to remove several degenerative fibroids the size of tennis balls and some other stuff. He changed our lives! It was so simple to him I had to wonder how all the other doctors before him didn’t immediately figure that out.
  4. All of the above. It is my belief that at least some of these women are in it for more than just the money. I think some of them will be easier to make go away with some show of contrition. In fact, I think some filed suit because he refused to do this. We can agree to disagree.
  5. There is criminal court, civil court, and the court of public opinion. Continuing to be a senseless jerk helps him in none of those venues. No, he can’t “get ahead of this”, but he can stop getting farther behind it. To do the right thing is a start, even if it’s clearly too late. It’s the only realistic path out of this for him that I can see. I never said “oops, sorry” would keep him out of jail. I believe a well constructed conciliatory statement is the proper way to proceed, if done wisely. What do you suggest? That he continues on this path of doom? EDIT: This goes for more than Watson. We are very forgiving as long as people come clean. Look at Tiger Woods cheating on his wife with a Denny’s hostess and countless others, or someone who got snagged for using PED’s. What is the first step? It may or may not be true, but you admit you messed up.”I apparently have a problem, and I’m seeking help”. Or, “I didn’t know that contained something on the banned list, and I’ll make sure not to do that again”. We forgive almost anything, as long as you stop lying to us. Watson should be trying to succeed in the criminal and civil courts AND the court of public opinion. He’s the face of a multi-billion dollar operation, like it or not. He should be trying to win back some Browns fans as well. . .
  6. But, I mean……if you wore a helmet? We’d still miss you.
  7. That is not an answer at all. What is the next move? How do you get ahead of this? Give us an actual answer. What is next? Sensible people will look for a way to de-escalate the situation. A standoff serves nobody. Don’t complain, don’t be a whiner, provide an ANSWER. .
  8. I’m sorry, I can’t tell if this is sarcasm. . It would be more foolish than the trade and Watson fully guaranteed contract Haslam allowed to make any decisions before it all comes out.
  9. Have you ever considered……he SHOULD say he’s sorry?
  10. You’re just like that, I know. It’s a real thing in the real world. It’s possible to put yourself in a more palatable light if you have a little common sense. I’m serious, I think some of them are there because he wouldn’t show any contrition. If you can’t envision that, you may be lacking personal skills. Sure, some just want the money. Others, including the latest I believe, just want to see him blink. What is your answer?
  11. From what I’ve seen and read, some of them only came forward because he wouldn’t come out and form some type of apology and promise to seek help and reform. BTW - if the over/under was 100, I’d take the over and laugh all the way to the bank! And I don’t even gamble!
  12. Apologizing “in case anyone was offended” won’t put him in jail. (Which does NOT mean he might not face another grand jury.) In fact, it might help keep him out. It seems some of these ladies just want him to stop acting “above it” and innocent. Probably some gold digging in there too, but some just got sick of him acting as though they were the problem and he was an angel thru all this. .
  13. Even that would be a lot unless you changed teams/cities. Most people get “their guy” who knows them and their body, according to many pro athletes I’ve heard from. During my couple decades in Florida I played a lot of tennis at a fairly high and strenuous level. Shoulder problems nagged me often. A neighbor swore by a guy who helped her after a car accident, so I gave him a try. With a “frozen shoulder”, my right hand could not touch my left shoulder when I went in. Randy was a miracle worker who worked on the entire family as needed. You get a guy like that, you don’t go fishing for strangers. It’s like family! A couple times on vacations I went for massages and had very different experiences, once with a lady and once with a guy. “WHOA!!! Where you going there!!!???” I always kept the boxer-briefs on after that. Did removing them send a message? I don’t know the world outside of “our guy”, but I wasn’t taking any chances. Having 66 (all female) massages over 17 months, many from people who are not even licensed, tells you all you need to know. I’m confident this is just the tip of the iceberg. This guy sounds like a serial predator in the worst way. I don’t know what a fair punishment is, but the first thing that has to happen is Watson needs to face the music and admit he was wrong, even if he doesn’t fully understand the depth of that yet. Then he needs to get help. Only THEN can he seek to get back into good graces.
  14. It’s been $1.50-$2.00/wing here for a while. I don’t order them often, but got an order of 6 last week (at a place owned by some WNY ex-pats) and the price had come down a bit it seemed. For better or worse, I can’t pound wings the way I used to. I’m ashamed to say I had some that went untouched.
  15. I’m looking forward thru the windshield. I understand why a Pats* fan would want to look more in the tiny rear view mirror. They have a noodle armed QB and a 70 year old Head Coach. Nostalgia has it’s place. Delusion is different.
  16. I’m the sucker they are looking for. Before I spend money on airfare, airport parking, hotel rooms and car rentals, I want my seat locked down. I’m sure you are correct, but I pay extra for the peace of mind associated with knowing I have a ticket and where it is. If it costs more, it’s one more drop in the bucket. If I were local I’d definitely take your approach and wait until someone was just happy to unload what they were holding onto.
  17. OK, everyone on three: one, two, three……..Go PERPS!!! Kinda sorta catchy, and slightly better than the train horn.
  18. This is Haslam showing you what he’s truly capable of when he’s got his A Game! ….those poor Browns fans. We have room on our bandwagon for them, don’t we? I honestly feel badly for the fans. This is almost as bad as having the team move away. Again. But they are still there, and you just can’t root for the team, it’s QB or the owner. OK, Maybe this is worse than moving…… .
  19. Steve Spurrier thinks that is messed up and worried that his short game would suffer.
  20. A few rookies I’m excited to see but………mostly I just want to get out 100% healthy.
  21. Caveat emptor, especially when it’s already a VERY public issue. Only ONE team was stupid enough to make that trade and give him that contract. Only ONE owner is THAT much of an idiot. I just texted condolences to my Browns fan buddy. I think he still has his head in the sand, but I’m not sure if he was aware of lady #24 and the story. I think sports talk shows are probably the ONLY ones who don’t just want this to be over. Even Watson’s attorney, the guy collecting fees, should want this to be over because, while he’s making a name for himself……..it’s certainly not putting him in a positive light.
  22. I’ve never been bungee jumping, but have checked off zip-lining and skydiving. Did they drop the wifey into the tree line, then just drag her thru there? Yeah, there must be a better plan. Skydiving is tricky and we had to go three separate weekends and wait hours for the weather to comply. It would get windy, then cloudy, then wait behind others….then it would get late. I’m glad we stuck to it and crossed that off the list. Good luck on the hot air balloon! I look forward to hearing about your adventure.
  23. While we are on the obvious, might I suggest cutting back on food and drink and hitting the can before climbing on a hot air balloon? I would really love to try that, but it would be a real concern for me! 😱
  24. I’m hoping Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is surfing the interwebby today and stumbles upon this site. I’d love to hear from HIM right about now! I believe he was advised to join AAA. ……….far too late.
  25. This feels like putting unleaded gas in his diesel truck might have been the smartest he ever looked! What a friggin’ disaster! 😂
