If you thought the doubters were gone...they're not.
Augie replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall
I regret clicking now, but I generally avoid those 2 at all costs. I knew better, but I hope to learn and grow from this experience. I can do better, I promise. -
Some of these ladies may be more interested in what they perceive as justice and accountability than money. It doesn’t have to be tied to the strength of the cases. EDIT: There were reports that they were close to settling a while back, but some ladies objected to the strict nature of the NDA. It’s not ONLY about money. .

What are you going to do with all that space when it all gets converted to digital?

Trevor Lawrence asked to be paid in Crypto currency
Augie replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chivalry may be on the ropes, but diversification is DEAD to some! Just imagine that stupidity! You take what you make, THEN you diversify! Sure, get a little crypto if you want to. Don’t take ALL crypto! . -
I must say, he did use a last name. A last name that is not ALL that common, and happens to show on the Bills roster. Higher expectations than maybe we deserve? I admit, I never saw it coming. But, I will not be harsh, because I see this as a minor oversight compared to the people who insist on using the first and last initial of a player they are thinking about. I mean, can I buy a vowel or something???

Niners’ Kittle advocating for two bye weeks
Augie replied to UConn James's topic in The Stadium Wall
The owners should be all in! An extra week of content and advertising. Make the season last longer, make more money. If it happens to be good for the players too? All the better! Just make the players feel like the owners did it for them, and file that “public chip”. -
I don’t Bill Bellichik is on either of their Christmas card lists……

Buffalo food suggestions? (I know, I know...people have strong opinions)
Augie replied to Logic's topic in Off the Wall
The one in Sarasota used to do that and I used them. Unfortunately, they give it to you in a plastic bag and the salt would melt away fairly quickly. Not sure if the bag or the product was faulty. I did it a few times, and it was super easy, but I now find I get a better product if I make it myself when needed. It’s very simple, to the point that I feel like I got out of cooking today for our crowd of 15. Publix sold me a boatload of Boar’s Head roast beef and some chips, wife got some sides from Whole Foods, and we have a meal! Charlie the Butcher’s website used to recommend a corn starch slurry I believe to get the salt and caraway seeds to adhere, but now I’m seeing an egg wash, so I’ll try that for the first time today. -
Buffalo food suggestions? (I know, I know...people have strong opinions)

Open face with mash potatoes and gravy is another meal entirely! The “weck” is critical to the deliciousness! There is a new crisis to be aware of. I went to two Publix locations, one Kroger and an Asian “Farmers Market” looking for caraway seeds…..with NONE to be found. My sister stopped at one store with no luck before realizing her daughters had some in their kitchen. WTF is up with the elusive caraway seed??? I have I believe 15 people coming for “beef on weck night”, and without the caraway seeds we were going to have to give it a new name! -

Without the caraway seeds, it’s something else entirely. Something less. Both my sisters are in town currently. Today I have a beat the heat menu with gazpacho, cucumber/tomato salad, black bean and corn salad, ice cream cake, etc. Oh, and I’ll sweat my tail off with some chicken on the grill. TOMORROW will be leftovers and BEEF ON WECK DAY! -
So sorry for your troubles. I know how tough it is to make these decisions. Just last night we were talking about how we often treat our pets more humanly than many people. I’m fairly certain they jacked up my father’s morphine that last night in hospice, and I have no complaints. He was never going to come back to have any kind of life. My oldest Golden dislocated a hip at a lousy doggy day care on water day when she was 2. The hip kept popping out of place and she was clearly in agony. I thought we would have to put her down, but the vet sent us to a surgeon who preformed a FHO (femoral head ostectomy) where the top of the leg is shaved down so it’s no longer a ball and joint situation. You just get her using it again ASAP and the muscle builds up to the point that you’d never know she has an issue. She had to go to physical therapy and we were regulars at an underwater treadmill that allowed her exercise while keeping weight off it. She is perfectly fine now, and turns 13 next month. The physical therapist who helped our son with his ACL/MCL tear in high school was a former college football player who tore his own ACL’s. He never had surgery and just learned to live with it. He got into mountain biking because it’s a motion that doesn’t require an ACL. Good luck with all you have going on. I know it’s rough. They are truly man’s best friend in my mind.

Buffalo food suggestions? (I know, I know...people have strong opinions)
Augie replied to Logic's topic in Off the Wall
That was my territory as a kid. I left for college when I was 17, so we only had a couple years with friends who could drive. The Creekview/Creekside (whatever it is under these owners) was a regular stop with my parents. That’s a nice little stretch of Main Street and I usually stay at the Hampton Inn which is easy walking to any of it. The Glen Park Tavern must have come after my years, but when I met my only childhood friend still living in Buffalo (Williamsville, actually) that’s where he took me. I really enjoyed it. A guy who has lived within 5 miles of those options for most of his 60+ years chose the Glen Park Tavern. That says something. -

That is not a “problem”, it is a “challenge”. There’s a difference! I feel your pain, there are not enough meal slots to do it all in just a few days. I was always a Bocce’s guy, but I’ve been gone a long time and I’m not sure if that is just nostalgia or truly the best option. Enjoy that trip and I hope you hit a home run at every meal. EDIT: If you go to Schwabl’s for beef on weck (which I HIGHLY recommend!) I would suggest the German potato salad. I had forgotten how delicious that is! I went there straight from the airport on one trip because it’s nearby and AMAZING! . -
We had some buddies up the street who had a pileated woodpecker who had pecked a hole in the siding of their house and was living in the attic. They covered up the hole, and he just pecked another one next to it and was still living in the attic. They gave up trying to get rid of him (it was a rental) and named him Woody. They asked “do you want to go upstairs and see Woody?”, and sure enough, there he was in the attic staring right back at us. In retelling this years later to a friend, I got to “do you want to go upstairs to see Woody” and our friend turned to her college age daughter without missing a beat and said “just so you know, the correct answer to that is always NO!” 😂 .

Bills Mafia Heeds the Call to Action by Dawson Knox
Augie replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can just start charging that lonely old lady by the minute for time in the office. You can work this out! Her office time is less necessary than your car getting there. I kid! Most people there probably call that a toss up! -
That is almost what it was, amazingly. I hope the ride doesn’t get too rough. The piper always gets paid.

I have no idea what you posted, but I’ll stick up for @JoeF a bit. He responded to me, and I am a little disappointed with all the unfounded speculating. Even the doctors here have no idea. Why throw out all our crazy ideas? WE DO NOT KNOW. If it was my family member, or yours, I’d respect the request for privacy, not just throw out wild ideas and just hope for the best. I’ll check in here frequently, but hoping for good news rather than some wild guess. I’ll probably just have to agree to disagree with many people here on this. .

For the record, I agreed to “Get well, dear Kim”, not that you are just an old fart and what the hell do you know. ….as far as you know.

He’s going to be a little more twitchy wearing Jerry’s number, so that’s good. The bad part is people will be allowed to hold him. 🤷♂️

All the speculation annoys me, I must admit. It’s almost like some people would like to start a poll, and if you guess Guiilame Barre Syndrome correctly you get longer odds. We don’t know, but let’s just hope for the best. I’ll leave it at that. Let’s hope for the best today’s medical care allows, and prayers to the family. .

I guess it’s more worthy than what he had for lunch. Hope he’s OK.
